IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
1. Readandretainallsafetyandoperatinginstructions.
2. Thisapplianceshouldnotbeusednearwatersuchasabathtub,
washbowl,kitchensink,orwashingmachine.
3. Theampliershouldbesituatedsothatitslocationdoesnot

antennasystemisgroundedtoprovidesomeprotectionagainst
voltagesurges,built-upstaticcharges,andlightningstrikes.

themastandsupportingstructure,groundingofthelead-inwireto
anantennadischargeunit,sizeofgroundingconductors,location
ofantenna-dischargeunit,connectiontogroundingelectrodes,
andrequirementsforthegroundingelectrode.
12. TheCATVsysteminstaller’sattentionshouldbedirectedtoArticle
820-40oftheNECthatprovidesguidelinesforpropergrounding
and,inparticular,speciesthatthecablegroundshallbe
connectedtothegroundingsystemofthebuilding,asclosetothe
pointofcableentryaspractical.•
wCaution:
• YoumustuseaClass2powersourcethatsupplies12VDCand
delivers at least 100 mA. Its center tip must be set to positive and
its plug must fit the amplifier’s adapter jack. The supplied adapter
meets these specifications. Using an adapter that does not meet
these specifications. Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could damage the amplifier or the adapter.
• AlwaysconnecttheACadaptertotheamplierbeforeyou
connect it to AC power. When you finish, disconnect the adapter
from AC power before you disconnect it from the amplifer.
• Toavoidinjury,donotconnecttheadaptertoaceilingoutlet.

anACoutlet.Youcanmounttheamplieronawallorother
surfaceusing#6screws(notsupplied).
• Donotplacetheamplieroutdoors.

• Tokeepexposedcabletoaminimum,youcanalsoplace
theamplierinyourattic.
• Topreventinterference,donotplacetheamplierwithinsix
inchesofanyotherelectronicdevice.
2Route Cables
Routea75-ohm(RG-6orRG-6QS)coaxialcablefromthe
ampliertoyourinputsource(cableboxorantenna)andto
eachreceiver.Followthesehintswhenroutingcable:
• Useonlyasmuchcableasnecessarytoreachfromthe
ampliertotheinputsourceandreceivers.
• Donotroutecableswheretheymightbecut,crimped,or
crushedbynormalactivities.
• Forthebestappearance,routecablethroughtheattic
andwalls,andterminateinawallmountboxwithanF-
connector(notsupplied).
3Connect devices
1. Connectacoaxialcabletoyourinputsource(cablebox
orantenna).Toconnectmorethanoneinputsource,use
ahighisolationA/Bswitchorvideoselectortoswitch
betweeninputs.

2. Connectthecoaxialcablefromyourinputsourcetothe
amplier’sINPUTterminal.
3. Connectoneendofthecoaxialcabletoanoutputdevice
andtheotherendtoanOUTPUTterminal.
4. Attachsuppliedterminatorstounusedoutputterminals.
5. ConnectthesuppliedACadaptertothejackontheright
handsideoftheamplier.
6. PlugtheACadapterintoastandardACoutlet.The
amplier’sredLEDlightswhenithaspower.
7. Turnoneverydeviceconnectedtotheamplier.
8. AdjustGAIN MIN/MAXtogetthebestpicture.
nNotes:
• DonotuseplierstotightenthescrewonF-connectors.
• Neverconnectbothanoutdoorantennaandtheoutput
from the amplifier to the antenna input of your TV or VCR
withoutusingahighisolationA/Bswitch.Doingsocould
cause interference with other nearby receivers.
• Inextremelylongcableruns(distancesover200feet),
additional amplification might be needed.
