PLEASEREADBEFOREATTEMPTINGINSTALLATION
ThankyouforpurchasingaRadioLabsUSBwirelessnetworkingproduct.Thisdocumentwillguideyou
throughthestepstoinstallthesoftwareordriversnecessaryforyourRadioLabsUSBWifiAntennaor
AdapteronyourMacintoshcomputer.

ThisguideandtheincludedsoftwareisnotcompatiblewiththeWaveRVIILongRangeUSBAdapter,
PleasenotethatyouwillneedaUSB2.0porttoutilizeanyoftheRadioLabsUSBWifi
Adapters/Antennaslistedabove.

TheMACsoftwareincludedinthisCDor.ziparchiveiscompatiblewiththefollowingversionsof
Windows:
•OS10.3“Panther”(allrevisions)
•OS10.4“Tiger”(allrevisions)
•OS10.5“Leopard”(allrevisions)
•OS10.6“SnowLeopard”(allrevisionsasof11‐09)*
(MACOS10.6/SnowLeopardisnotsupportedaboverevision10.6.1)
ThescreenshotsincludedinthisguidearefromtheMACOS10.4version
PleasenotethatthingsmayappearslightlydifferentonyoursystemdependingonyourOSversion.
However,theinstallationstepswillbesimilarregardlessofyourOSversion.

Note:DonotinserttheUSBconnectorforyourRadioLabsUSBWifiAntenna/AdapterintoyourMAC
untilprompted.
BeforeinstallingyourRadioLabsdevice,youwillneedtodisableordisconnectanywirelessdevices
currentlyoperatingonyourPC.ThisincludestheAirport,PCIadaptersorexternalUSBadapters.
YourMACdoesnotneedanAirportorbuilt‐inwifiadaptertoutilizeanyRadioLabsUSBWifiAntenna
orAdapter.AllofRadioLabs’USBWifiAntennas/Adaptershaveabuilt‐inwirelesscardthattakesthe
placeofyourexistingwirelessnetworkconnection.
IfyouareusingaMACthathasanAirportintegratedwificonnection,pleaseusetheAirportmenu(top
rightofthescreen)orSystemPreferences>NetworktoturntheAirportoff.
IfyouwishtousetheAirportinthefuture,justusetheAirportmenuorNetworkiconunderSystem
PreferencestoturntheAirportbackon.

SelecttheinstallerforyourOSfromthemenuintheRadioLabsInstallationWizard.
ThiswillbegintheinstallationforyourRadioLabsUSBWifiAdapter/Antenna.
ThisstepcanbedisregardedaslongasyouhavenotpreviouslyinstalledanysoftwareforyourRadioLabs
USBWifiAntenna/Adapter.Ifyouhaveattemptedtoinstallthesoftware,pleasefollowtheinstructions
anduninstallthesoftwareusingthe“uninstall.command”andthenstartoverfromthebeginningonthis
installationguide.

PleaseselectLicenseAgreementLangaugeandclickContinue
ClickInstalltocontinuetheinstallation.
Entertheusername(ifnecessary)andthesystempasswordtocontinuetheinstallation

SelectContinueInstallation
SelectRestarttofinishtheinstallationandrebootyourMAC
Onceyourmachinehasrestarted,youcanconnecttheUSBofyourRadioLabsUSBWifi
Adapter/AntennaconnectortoyourMAC’sUSBport.
(IfyouhavetheWaveMagnumUSBHighPowerUSBWifiAdapter,youwillneedtoconnectthesmall
Mini‐BUSBConnectorendoftheblackUSBcabletotheMagnumandtheotherendtoyourMAC’sUSB
port.)
ContinuetothenextpagetoconfigureyournetworkpreferencesforyourRadioLabsUSBWifi
Adapter/Antenna

TheinstructionswillnowbedifferentiateddependingonyourOSversion.
WhenyouconnecttheUSBconnectortoyourcomputer,youmayseethisalert,tocontinue,clickokay.If
alertdoesnotappear,pleasecontinuetothenextstep.
GotoSystemPreferences>Network.
SelectLocationandclickNewLocationandentertheNameofyournewlocation.(Forthisinstance,we
havenamedthelocation“WaveMagnum”)andclickOK
SelecttheShowListandselecttheEthernetAdapter(enX)[wherexisanumberyourMACassignstothe
device]

ClickApplyNowtoactivateyourRadioLabsUSBWifiAdapter/Antenna
YourRadioLabsUSBWifiAdapterorAntennaisnowinstalledandreadytouse.Pleaserefertothe
RadioLabsUSBDeviceUserManualforinstructionsonhowtousetheRadioLabsWirelessUSBUtility.
