Operating Instructions
Introduction
This RattleByte multi region upgrade board enables your blu-ray disc player to play BD-Video and
DVD-Video discs from all regions. While region free DVD playback is performed automatically, the
blu-ray region must be set manually using the player's original remote control. The following
operating instructions assume that the RattleByte multi region upgrade board has been fitted to the
player.
When the unit is connected to the mains (except
BD30/BD50) or when it is turned on by pressing
[POWER], the currently selected blu-ray region
is briefly displayed on the unit's display.
Setting the blu-ray region
Setting the blu-ray region can only be performed while the unit is in stand-by.
For BD60/BD80, make sure that the Quick Start mode of the unit is set to OFF!
●Press [POWER] to turn off the unit.
●Press [1] to select blu-ray regionA.
The selected region is displayed for about
2 seconds or until the unit is turned on.
●Press [2] to select blu-ray region B.
The selected region is displayed for about
2 seconds or until the unit is turned on.
This is the default setting.

●Press [3] to select blu-ray region C.
The selected region is displayed for about
2 seconds or until the unit is turned on.
●Press [POWER] to turn on the unit. BD-Video discs from the selected region can now be
played.
●Repeat the above sequence to play BD-Video discs from a different region.
Setting the remote control code
Your Panasonic blu-ray player supports three sets of remote control codes for users who
operate more than one Panasonic BD/DVD product in the same room. Refer to the unit's
instruction manual on how to change the control codes for the unit and the remote.
The RattleByte multi region upgrade board can be configured to respond to any of the three
remote control codes. It should normally be set to correspond to the remote control code of
the unit.
In order to set the remote control code of the RattleByte multi region upgrade board:
●Press [POWER] to turn off the unit.
●Press [RE-MASTER].
The unit enters remote control code
change state and will remain in this state
for 2 seconds or until the unit is turned
on.
●Press [1] to select remote control code 1.
The selected code is displayed.
●Press [2] to select remote control code 2.
The selected code is displayed.

●Press [3] to select remote control code 3.
The selected code is displayed.
●Press [0] to select remote control codes
1-3.
The selected code is displayed.
This is the default setting.
The multi region upgrade board will now accept region change commands in the selected
remote control code(s). This procedure can be performed regardless of the remote control
code settings of the player and the remote. Note that the remote control code can only be
changed while “IR SET” is being displayed on the unit's display.
