IntendedUse
Raymarinehsb2Series Fishfinders are intended for recreational fishfinding.
The combined Fishfinder/Chartplotter devices are intended for recreational
fishfinding and course chartplotting.The optional chartplotter function is
intendedas an aid to navigation and should not be reliedupon as a substitute
for official navigation charts.
SAFETYNOTICES
This equipment must beinstalled and operated inaccordance with the
instructions contained in this manual.Failure to do so can resultin personal
injuryand/or navigationalinaccuracies.Inparticular:
1.HIGH VOLTAGE.The LCD display unit contains high voltages.
Adjustments requirespecialized service proceduresand tools onlyavailable
to qualified service technicians – there are nouserserviceable parts or
adjustments. Theoperatorshouldneverremovethedisplayunitcoveror
attempttoservicetheequipment.
2.NAVIGATION AID. The chartplotterunit is only anaid to navigation. Its
accuracycan be affected by manyfactors, including equipment failureor
defects, environmental conditions, andimproperhandling or use.It is the
user’sresponsibility to exercise commonprudence and navigational
judgements.This unit should not be relied uponas a substituteforsuch
prudenceand judgement.

standardsfor use in the recreational marine environment.
Thedesignand manufactureof Raymarine equipment and accessories

FishfindersystemsrequireanappropriateRaymarinetransducerunitandin-
ter-connecting cable. Detailsfor selecting and installing the transducer are

This handbook containsveryimportantinformation on the installation and
operation of your new equipment. Inorder to obtainthe bestresults in

TFTLCDDisplays
The colors of thedisplay may seem tovary when viewedagainst a colored
backgroundor in colored light. This is a perfectly normaleffect that willbe
seen withall color LCD displays.
IncommonwithallThinFilmTransistor(TFT)LCDdisplays,thescreenmay
exhibit a few (less than 20) wrongly illuminated pixels. Thesemay appearas
blackpixelsinalightportionofthescreen,orascoloredpixelsinblackareas.
CAUTION:
ToprovideprotectionagainstthedamagingeffectsofUVlight,it is
advisabletoreplacethesuncoverprovidedwhenthecolorLCDdisplayis
notinuse.
