Data
Rosa 600 luminaires are DMX-512/RDM compliant and include two five-pin
XLR connectors, one for DMXIn and one for DMXThru.
Use the following standard pinout when preparing DMXcable (Belden
9729 or equivalent) with an XLR connector. The second data pair in the
recommended cable type is not used, but is reserved future service.

Terminate DMX-512
The last luminaire in the DMXcontrol run must be terminated to prevent
signal reflections. Signal reflections cause noise on the data line resulting in
corrupted data between the control source and the luminaire. This can
result in random flashing of the luminaires on that control run.
To terminate the control run, install a DMX termination plug (RAYN Growing
Systems part number SGE1507) on the DMX Thru connector on the last
luminaire on that run.

RAYN Installation Guide
Rosa 600 Luminaire
Before You Begin
Review the following sections before beginning installation. Certain
elements of this installation should only be completed by a qualified
installer or electrician. General adjustments and maintenance of the
luminaire are acceptable end user tasks.
Power Disconnect Device
Before installation, make sure you have a main circuit breaker or other
readily accessible input power disconnect device installed ahead of your
luminaire.
WARNING: Risk of electric shock! This device utilizes
hazardous voltage and should only be installed by a suitably
skilled person (electrically) or electrician. Follow all local
codes and requirements for installation. Before terminating
the AC power wiring verify that the main breaker is in the
off position and follow the proper lockout/tag out
procedures per NFPA Standard 70E or local requirements.
locales.
WARNING: Circuits that are installed without an
accessible power disconnect device cannot be serviced or
operated safely.
AVERTISSEMENT : Il est imprudent d'utiliser ou de
réparer les circuits installés sans qu'un dispositif de
déconnexion de l'alimentation ne soit accessible.

1. Install the mounting hardware (not provided)to an installation
attachment point on the luminaire yoke or use the provided channels
on the enclosure.
2. Mount the luminaire to the installation location.
Note: The installation must follow local codes and standard
practices for overhead rigging. When the luminaire is mounted in an
overhead rigged position, it is recommended that you also secure it
in place using a secondary safety cable (not provided).
3. Make DMX connections. See Wiring on page 5 for details.
a. Connect the DMXinput cable to the DMXIn XLR receptacle.
b. If you are continuing the data run to the next luminaire, connect
a patch cable to the DMXThru XLR. If you are not continuing
the data run, terminate DMX at the luminaire. See Terminate
DMX-512 on page6.
4. Plug the power cord into a single phase supply receptacle, ensuring
that the supply is capable of providing sufficient current according
to the power consumption table. See Electrical on page 5.
Powering Up
1. Apply power to the luminaire and the control system.
2. Access the user interface to set the DMXaddress. See User
Interface on page 9.

Future use
Access the user interface to set the DMX start address of the luminaire.
After five seconds of inactivity when DMX is present, the display turns off.
The display will blink the DMX address when no DMX is present.
The DMXstart address of the luminaire can also be set remotely via RDM
using the RAYN Touch lighting controller. See the RAYN Touch Controller
User Manual or online help system within the software for details.

Setting the DMXAddress
1. Press any button to wake the display. The display shows the current
DMX address (001 by default).
2. Use the increment and decrement buttons to set the DMX address
for the luminaire. Set each luminaire to a unique address for
independent control. Rosa 600 luminaires utilize 17 channels of
control.
Note: Each Rosa 600 luminaire ships from the factory labeled with
the luminaire array type, which is a three-digit alphanumeric code
that is formatted similarly to R3a, R3e, etc. This luminaire array
type is required when setting up the luminaire for control by the
RAYN Touch Controller.

Firmware Update
RAYN Growing Systems recommends using UpdaterAtor software to
manage firmware updates to the luminaire.
For more information on UpdaterAtor, see the UpdaterAtor Software
Quick Guide, which you can download for free from
etcconnect.com/Products/Networking/Software/UpdaterAtor.aspx.
Error Codes
There are three error codes that may be shown on the user interface.
•
OtP: Screen toggles between OtP and ERR to indicate that the
fixture has gone into over-temperature protection mode to avoid
damaging the fixture. Once the fixture has self-cooled, the error will
automatically clear.
•
CBL: Screen toggles between CBL and ERR to indicate that a
control card or the internal cabling is damaged or unplugged.
•
No App: Screen toggles between no and APP to indicate that the
upgraded fixtures have a software issue. Use UpdaterAtor software
(see Firmware Update above) to reload software to clear the error.
If any of the above error codes persist, please contact RAYN Growing
Systems at support@rayngrowingsystems.com for additional
troubleshooting assistance.
