Thank you for purchasing the Ready2Talk MB 6
Microphone Adaptor Box.
Sometimes your factory installed PA system is so integrated into your vehicle is doesn’t make
sense to change it. Possibly your manufacturer only offers a hand mic or their other mics are
priced through the stratosphere and you need more mic options?
So our many MB 6 versions are designed to allow all our high quality microphones to
seamlessly function with our competitors PA systems, from handheld to headset, wired to
wireless!
When using Ready2Talk microphones, you’ll not only notice the vastly improved sound, but
all future replacement mics will continue to save you money. With the MB 6 you can afford to
outfit all of your drivers with their own microphone, which reduces the transfer of germs,
equating to less sick days. Something to think about?
Operation
1. Connect the MB 6 to power (12V or 24V) using the included power cable
2. Connect the 4 pin mic plug to any of the coaches mic sockets
3. Connect any Ready2Talk microphone (wired or wireless) to either “Mic 1 or Mic 2”
sockets on the top of the MB 6
4. Turn on power to the bus’s factory PA system
5. Turn on the Ready2Talk microphone and speak normally. Adjust the volume on your
PA system to your desired level as normal.
6. If the mic volume is too loud or too low, please see “Fine Tuning” below.
Please Note: When using a wired hand mic or wired headset the operation is almost instant:
But when using our HS BT4 wireless headset or HM BT3 wireless hand mic, there will be a
slight delay of approx. 4 seconds before the vehicles PA system is triggered into transmit
mode. This delay is cause by the auto pairing of the wireless BT connection, which is normal.
Mounting
If using the supplied Velcro for mounting, please clean both surfaces (the back of the MB 6
and the bus’s surface) with rubbing alcohol to help with adhesion.
To permanently mount the MB 6
1. Remove the 4 screws holding the front and back cases of the MB 6 together.
2. Separate the cases and drill two holes in the back case half for your mounting screws.
3. Screw the back case half to the desired surface in the bus, then reassemble the case
halves of the MB 6 and reinstall the 4 screws.
4. To hardwire, remove the cigarette lighter plug from the power cable and connect the
Red wire to 12V or 24V+ and the Black wire to ground.
5. Connect the MB 6 plug into the existing mic factory socket and you’re Ready2Talk.
IMPORTANT:
Although the MB 6 is internally fused, when using the permanent power cord, always install a
fuse (3A max) at the power source connection to protect the wire.
