Operating Guidelines
• Do not use this player where the temperatures are below 5°C or exceeds 35°C.
• To keep the laser pick-up clean, do not forget to close the disc tray.
• Do not attempt to clean with chemical solvents as this may cause damage. Use a clean, dry cloth.
Installation
1. The unit is supplied with separate Tuner and Audio player RCAline level outputs, plus a Priority RCA
live level output. The Priority output gives the audio player priority and then switches to Tuner when
the audio player tracks have finished. Connect the stereo RCAoutput(s) as required to a line level
amplifier input.
2. Connect a suitable FM antenna to the FM antenna terminals, and connect the AM loop antenna to the
AM antenna terminals.
3. Connect the IEC cable to the unit, and plug it in to a 240V mains outlet. Install the batteries (supplied)
in the remote control.
4. Switch the mains outlet on.

16. Direct (tuner mode only). Allows direct input of frequency. Press direct, input
frequency (eg: for FM 96.1 enter “961”) then press direct again to save
(change) frequency/station.
17. 1 - 10 Station preset keys (when in tuner mode). 0 - 9 Track selection keys

Operation
POWER ON/OFF: The unit has a main power switch. When the main power is switched on, both LCD
displays will light up.
RADIO:
1. Press the BAND button (on either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) to select between FM or
AM.
2. Press the DOWN or UP (on either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) buttons to tune in to the
desired station.
3. To automatically scan for stations, press and hold the UP or DOWN buttons for a second. The unit will
scan and stop when it reaches a station.
4. To store current station to memory, tune to the station desired - press the memory button, select preset 1
to 5, or to access presets higher presets press 1-5, then press +5 to reach the desired preset number (eg.
for 16 press 1, then press +5 three times. If you are using the remote, you can use buttons 1-9 and +10.
Then press the memory button again. You can store up to 60 FM stations and 40 AM stations.
5. Access preset stations using the number keys and +5 (on the unit, see Fig.3) or +10 (on the remote, see
Fig.1). Me-Up and Me-Down (M-UP and M-Down on the remote) are used to skip up or down to the
next station preset.
AUDIO PLAYER:
CD OPERATION - COMPACT DISCS
The CD player accepts both 12CM and 8CM compact discs. Insert a disc into the slot with the data side
facing down, and press the play button (on either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) to begin
playback. Use the CD/TUNER button on the remote control (see Fig.3) to switch to CD/USB/Card Mode.
The CD on indicator LED will light up and the display panel will display CD and the Track number and
playing time.
Warning: When inserting a disk into the CD player or taking a disc out, it is necessary to let the CD
player insert the disk and return automatically. Do not force the disc in or out of the disc slot as this
may cause serious damage to the unit.
• If the unit does not accept a CD, check that Card or USB modes are not selected. Press the FUNC (on
either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) button until CD displays. Press PLAY in order for the
unit to load and recognise the CD.
• If the unit does not eject a CD, check that Card or USB modes are not selected. Press FUNC button until
CD displays. Press PLAY in order for the unit to load and recognise the CD, then STOP/EJECT. The CD
will now eject.
STOP and EJECT: Press STOP on the front panel (see Fig.1) once to stop playback. The display will show
total track numbers and total time. Press EJECT and the disc will eject.
REPEAT: Press REPEAT (on either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) to repeat playing the cur-
rent track only. Press repeat a second time to repeat all the tracks. Press repeat a third time to repeat all
tracks in random. Pressing a fourth time returns to the normal play all mode.
PLAY/PAUSE: (On either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) Press to pause playback, press again
to resume playback.
REV-SKIP-CUE: Press the REV and SKIP buttons (on either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) to
skip 1 track forwards or backwards.
A-B: This function allows a selected section of music source to be continually repeated. Press A-B (on
either the unit, see Fig.1, or the remote, see Fig. 3) once to select the start position. The display will show A
and B will be flashing. Press again at the desired end position. The display will now showAB and the
selected music source selection will be continually repeated. Press A-B again will cancel repeat function.

CD OPERATION - MP3s:
When an MP3 disc is inserted, the CD player’s display will show “MP3”.
Once playing the display will show folder number, track number and elapsed playing time. All functions
operate in the same manner as regular CD playback with the addition of the FOLDER function. This func-
tion allows you to select folders of MP3 files on a disc. These are selected in alphanumeric order.
SD/MMC Card:
Insert SD Card or MMC Card into the slot on the front panel (see Fig1.). Push the card into the slot until it
clicks into the slot. Press FUNC source button until the screen displays “CARD”, then press PLAY/PAUSE
to begin playback. Folders on the card may be navigated using the FOLDER button. These are selected in
alphanumeric order. The display and all other functions are the same as MP3 CD operation.
When taking the card out push the card until you hear it click and then release the card. Do not use
force to pull the card out as this may cause damage to the card or the unit.
USB Flash Memory Stick:
Insert USB into the USB slot on the front panel. Press FUNC until the screen displays “USB”. Press PLAY /
PAUSE to start playback. Folders on the card may be navigated using the FOLDER button. These are
selected in alphanumeric order. The display and all other functions are the same as MP3 CD operation.
Track Programming:
To Program a CD.
1. Press PROG button. The unit will display:
PROGRAM
CD P-01 00
Where P-01 is the number of track to be programmed (ie first track) and 00 is the track number.
2. Press CUE button until the desired track number is selected.
3. To enter this track number in program memory press PROG.
4. Repeat procedures 2-3 above until all of the desired tracks are programmed.
5. When all tracks are programmed, press PLAY and playback will start.
6. Playback can be stopped at any time by using the STOP button. To cancel the program memory press
STOP button again after playback has ceased. (ie STOP button has been pressed twice)
To program using MP3 CDs, USB or SD card.
1. Press PROG button. The unit will display:
PROGRAM
P-01 000 0000
Where P-01 is the number of track to be programmed (ie first track), 000 is the folder number, and 0000
is the track number.
2. Press CUE button until the desired folder number is selected.
3. Then press PROG button to program the track number.
4. Press CUE button until the desired track number is selected.
5. Press PROG button to enter this folder and track number into memory.
6. Repeat the above steps2-5 until all of the desired tracks are programmed.
7. When all tracks are programmed, press PLAY and playback will start.
8. Playback can be stopped at any time by using the STOP button. To cancel the program memory press
STOP button again after playback has ceased. (ie STOP button has been pressed twice)
