Ionisation smoke detector for duct mounting
SDD-S65-RACM is an ionisation smoke detector with 24 V AC supply
voltage for smoke detection in ventilation systems. The detector has
a relay output for smoke alarm indication as well as a built-in auxiliary
fan. SDD-S65-RACM is not to be connected to Regin’s control units

Installation
Make a 30 mm hole at a suitable location on the duct. The detec-
tor should be mounted at least 3 duct diameters away from bends,
air intakes or other sources of disturbance to the airow in the duct.
Remove the enclosure lid and remove the detector head which is
bayonet mounted.
Mount the venturi tube by removing the screw from the tube’s
unclosed end, stick the end of the tube into the hole in the bottom of
the enclosure with the holes in the tube aligned with the enclosure’s
longitudinal axis. Fasten the screw through the hole in the PC-board.
Replace the detector head. To shorten the venturi tube remove the
endplate and gasket from the tube’s outer end, shorten the tube mak-
ing sure to cut it at right angles and remount gasket and plate.
Temporarily replace the lid oriented so that the LED on the detector head
is visible through the window. Put the tube through the hole in the duct,
orient the unit so that the arrows on the lid point in the ow direction (see
gure 1) and fasten the unit to the duct using the mounting ”wings”. For
round ducts the wings can be bent to t the duct curvature. For insulated
ducts, special mounting brackets are available as an extra accessory.

Function indicators
Flow indicator
The detector has a built-in ow indicator with a red signal ag which is
located on the air inlet. During normal operation, it will be lifted by the
ow of air, thereby indicating correct air ow through the detector.
Smoke alarm
The detector head has a built-in LED for alarm indication. The LED is
normally extinguished but will light up red at a smoke alarm. Simulta-
neously the alarm relay is activated.
Function test
The cover has a red plastic plug on the side of the lid to simplify
control with e.g. test gas. Avoid spraying gas directly onto the detector
head and only use small amounts at a time to avoid unnecessary
contamination of the detector.
Maintenance
The detector should be tested and cleaned on a yearly basis to
ensure proper function. Cleaning of the venturi tubes, the housing and
the outside of the detector head can be done using a vacuum cleaner.
Note: Do not try to disassemble the detector head for cleaning.
EMC emissions and immunity standard
The product conforms with the requirements of European EMC
standards CENELEC EN50081-1 and EN50082-1 and carries the CE
mark.
Radioactivity
The detector contains a radioactive substance and must not be
dismantled by unauthorised personnel. Discarded detectors should be
sent to AB Regin.

Joniserande rökdetektor för kanalmontage
SDD-S65-RACM är en joniserande rökdetektor med 24 V AC
matningsspänning för detektering av brandrök i ventilationssystem.
Detektorn har reläutgång för indikering av röklarm samt inbyggd hjälp-
äkt. SDD-S65-RACM ska inte anslutas till Regins kontrollenheter
ABV...

Matningsspänning 24 V AC ±15 %
Installation
Ta upp ett 30 mm hål på lämplig plats i kanalen. Detektorn ska
monteras minst 3 kanalbredder från eventuell föregående kanalböj,
returluftsintag eller annat som kan störa strömningen i kanalen. Ta
av lådans lock och ta bort detektorhuvudet som sitter med bajonett-
fattning.
Montera fast venturiröret genom att ta loss skruven i rörets öppna
ände, stick in röret i hålet i botten på lådan, hålen i röret ska peka
i lådans längdriktning. Fäst med skruven genom hålet i kretskortet.
Sätt tillbaka detektorhuvudet. Behöver röret kortas så skruva loss
och ta bort brickan och packningen i rörets yttre ände. Kapa röret
till lämplig längd. Se till att snittet blir vinkelrätt mot rörets längdaxel.
Återmontera packning och bricka.
Sätt temporärt fast locket vänt så att lysdioden på detektorn syns
genom fönstret. Stick in röret i kanalen, rikta in huset så att pilarna på
locket pekar i strömningsriktningen (se gur 1) och skruva fast botten
med hjälp av monteringsvingarna. Vid montering på runda kanaler
kan vingarna böjas ner för att passas till kanalytan. För kanaler med
isolering nns monteringsplåtar som extra tillbehör.

Funktionsindikeringar
Flödesindikator
Detektorn har inbyggd ödeskontroll med en röd signalagga som sit-
ter på inkommande luftanslutning. Vid korrekt funktion addrar denna
något p.g.a. luftströmmen och indikerar därigenom luftöde genom
detektorhuset.
Röklarm
Detektorhuvudet har en inbyggd lysdiod för larmindikering. Lysdioden
är normalt släckt men lyser med rött sken vid röklarm. Samtidigt
aktiveras larmreläet.
Funktionsprov
Kåpan har en röd plastplugg på lockets sida för att förenkla kon-
troll med exempelvis provgas. Undvik att spruta gasen direkt mot
detektorhuvudet och använd bara små mängder åt gången för att inte
smutsa ner detektorn i onödan.
Underhåll
Detektorn bör funktionskontrolleras och rengöras årligen för att upp-
rätthålla god funktion. Rengöring av rör, kåpa och detektorhuvudets
utsida kan göras med dammsugare. OBS: Detektorhuvudet får inte
tas isär för rengöring.
EMC emissions- och immunitetsstandard
Produkten uppfyller kraven för gällande Europeiska EMC standard
CENELEC EN50081-1 och EN50082-1 och är CE-märkt.
Radioaktivitet
Detektorn innehåller radioaktivt ämne och får ej demonteras av
obehörig personal. Kasserad detektor sänds till AB Regin.
Aktivt ämne: Am-241; 33 kBq.
