1Introduction
This document outlines the full step-by-step process for using the ECVR-6700T. The REI ECVR-6700T
is an SAEJ1939-compliant, double din, electronically tuned radio designed for use with commercial
road vehicles.

The radio has threaded holes in the chassis side panels for ISO mount applications. If necessary, eight
M5x10mm screws are included with the hardware pack.

2.1 Reset Switch
If the Control head is not operating correctly, press the RESET button to restart the operating system.
The RESET button must also eject a disc if inserted, or simply cycle eject without a disc inserted.

3.1 Rear Driver’s USB Jack
Access to compressed audio files and device charging for the DRIVER’S USB.
3.2 Driver’s AUX Input Jack
Access to the driver’s stereo RCA analog inputs.
3.3 P.A. Inputs 1-3
Public Address Microphone inputs for Passenger announcements.
3.4 External Amplifier Audio Output
Line output for connection to REI amplifier.
3.5 External Audio Input
Input for audio from either the external REI HDMI switcher or separate external REI DVD player.
3.6 External IR Input
External wireless remote-control input for control head, works with front IR.
3.7 RS485 Communication
Input for communication of external REI devices using an RS485 link.
3.8 Antenna Input
Antenna input for both driver and passenger tuner modules.
3.9 Type E HDMI Output
Provides 1080P HD video output from the digital media.
3.10 Back-Up Camera Video Input BNC
Input connection for a back-up camera.
3.11 Composite Video Output BNC
Outputs composite video from digital media sources.
3.12 Rear Passenger’s USB Jack
Access to compressed audio/video files and device charging for the passenger’s USB.
3.13 CAN BUS
Optional SAEJ1939 CAN bus connections.
3.14 Dimmer Trigger
Optional LCD dimmer option, when connected to +12V and AUTO is selected, the LCD display with
automatically change to the NIGHT level intensity.
3.15 Video Disable
When connected to chassis ground, this input disables the PLAY/STOP/FF/REW/MENU button
operation from the front of the unit. The remote must be used for DVD playback operation.
3.16 Back-up Camera Trigger
When connected to +12/24V, the unit will default to the back-up camera input source.
3.17 Handbrake input
When connected to chassis ground, the unit will display video from the driver’s USB source.

4.1 Setup Menu
From the HOME page select the Setup option. Users can select the following settings: CONTROL, DISPLAY,
CLOCK, INFO, WALLPAPER, CAMERA, and FACTORY setup options. To exit at any time, use the
Home/Previous Keys.

Brightness Mode
Select Brightness Mode Auto when the dimmer wire is connected to the headlamp switch. If set to Auto, the
display will dim automatically from DAY to NIGHT. If set to Day mode, the backlight will appear 100%
continuously. The NIGHT mode will dim the display to 50%.

CD HDMI ON/OFF
Select to display CD track information on the HDMI output as shown on the right when set to ON. To display a
blank screen, set to OFF.

Wireless Mix On/Off
When Mic 3 is connected to an REI Wireless Microphone system, the user can talk simultaneously with the
source audio when Wireless Mix is set to ON. This will automatically mute the passenger’s source by -3dB
when the microphone is keyed, and the volume of both sources can be controlled using the passenger’s volume
control. When the microphone is released, it will return to the previous listening level. Use the volume control
on the wireless device, if necessary, for further adjustment. When the mode is set to OFF, the source audio is
muted, and only Mic 3 audio will be heard.

Subwoofers ON/OFF
Setting the SUBWOOFERS to either ON or OFF enables or disables the audio for the subwoofer output
channels on the radio.

The SUBWOOFER LPF setting gives the user the option to adjust the Low Pass Filter on the subwoofer audio
output channels. The settings options are 50, 60, 80, 100, and 120Hz.

Subwoofer Gain
The SUBWOOFERS GAIN control provides the option to increase the SUBWOOFERS GAIN decibel level (dB)
on the Subwoofers audio output channels.

BT MIC
The BT MIC Internal/External option allows the user to use a separate Bluetooth microphone in an alternate
location. When set to Internal, the internal microphone on the face of the radio becomes operational. When
External is selected, the user can plug in an external microphone into the rear of the unit for hands free calling.

Reset to Default
Select RESET TO DEFAULT to return to the default user settings. Press Confirm to complete the process.

4.2 Clock
Time can be displayed in 12 or 24-hour format. To change to 24-hour mode, select 24H. To return to 12-hour
format, select 12H. To set the Time/Date, select Modify, and adjust the sliders to select the Time/Date settings.
Confirm the setting as AM/PM by pressing AM or PM. Click Confirm to accept.

When the user presses the POWER button on the front of the radio, the ECVR-6700T is displayed on the radio
screen when the radio is manually powered off.

Back-Up Camera settings
Camera image mirrored ON/OFF provides the option to mirror the camera image depending on the back-up
camera used.

Display Control Tab
Use to change the LCD display and button backlighting to the radio. The Brightness setting provides
the user control of the LCD intensity by increasing or decreasing the slider controls until the desired
setting is reached. The contrast, saturation, and button brightness display can be adjusted by moving
the slider control until the desired outcome is achieved.

Driver’s and Passenger Bluetooth
The user can customize the Driver and Passengers Bluetooth Source options. Driver’s Bluetooth
settings are Music & Phone, Music, or OFF. When set to Music and Phone, both the HFP and A2DP
profiles are active. When set to Music, only the A2DP profile is active. When set to OFF the source
disappears from the Home Page. The Passenger Bluetooth settings are Music and OFF. When set to
Music, only the A2DP profile is active. When set to OFF the source disappears from the Home Page.

Passenger Source Gain
The Source Gain Tab provides the option of changing the gain of the passenger’s sources if necessary.
Typically, the default setting of “0” is acceptable, but in some cases a source may be too loud or too
quiet. Pressing the UP or DOWN arrows can increase or decrease the input gain of the source in
question to the desired level.

4.4 Power and Mute Function
Press the Power button to turn the unit ON or hold to turn the unit OFF. The button will illuminate RED
when OFF and BLUE when ON. After the unit turns on, the Boot Logo screen will display while
establishing communication with all devices. When ON, press to MUTE the driver’s and passenger’s
audio and again to un-mute.
