FRONT AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT
Opening the bonnet
Pull the control 1and push the lever 4(move-
ment A).
Engine oil level
You can check the oil level on the instrument panel:
when the ignition is switched on and for 30 sec-
onds, press once on either button 5or 6. The oil
level is displayed on the instrument panel.
You must observe the service intervals and the
standards governing the oils tested for your
engine. Refer to the maintenance service and war-
ranty booklet for your vehicle and to Section 4
of your Driver’s Handbook for the precautions to
follow when filling with oil.

Screen washer fluid level
Add some fluid to reservoir 2if necessary.
Coolant level
The level indicated on the reservoir 3should be be-
tween MIN and MAX.
If it is necessary to top up this level, it is essential
to do so when the engine is cold.

Passenger side
Audio connection socket
You can connect your audio player to your vehi-
cle. There is a dedicated socket on the centre con-
sole 3.
Refer to the audio system equipment instructions
for a detailed view of connection.

Activation of the front
passenger air bag
You should reactivate the air bag as soon as you
remove the child seat from the front passenger seat
to ensure the protection of the front passenger in
the event of an impact.
To reactivate the air bag: with the vehicle station-
ary, insert the key integrated in the RENAULT card
in switch 1and turn it to the ON position.
With the ignition on, you must ensure that warn-
ing light 2is off.
Deactivating the front
passenger air bag
When fitting a child seat (only rear-facing child
seats can be fitted in this seat), it is essential to
deactivate the air bag: with the vehicle stationary,
insert the key integrated in the RENAULT card in
switch 1and turn it to OFF.
With the ignition on, you must ensure that warn-
ing light 2is on.
Reposition the switch immediately to ON as soon
as you are no longer using the child seat.

Rear seats
REAR SEATS
Adjusting the rear
seatbacks
(depending on vehicle)
There are 5 position settings for adjusting the in-
clination of each rear seatback. Tilt it while raising
the lever 1.
Ski hatch
Lowering the rear centre armrest 2provides access
to a ski hatch.
ISOFIX system
Each rear side seat is fitted with the ISOFIX child
seat mounting system 5.
Depending on the type of child seat used, installa-
tion requires specific precautions.
Refer to the information on “Child safety” in
Section 1 of your driver’s handbook for the spe-
cial features.
Consult your approved dealer to find out about the
equipment available for your vehicle.
Ensure that nobody is near to the bench seat
when you fold it down.
Remember to remove anything on the rear bench
seat.

Folding the rear seats
In all cases, pull the strap 3and tilt the seat squab
then lift the control 1and lower the seatback.
Depending on the vehicle, you can also pull the
seats down from the rear of the vehicle. Pull
handle 4on the side to fold down.

Rear
REAR
Double opening tailgate
This enables complete and quick access to the lug-
gage compartment.
OPENING
Quick access: press the switch 1, lift the upper
section.
Complete access: pull handle 3and guide the
lower section downwards.
CLOSING
Lift the lower section and ensure it is correctly
locked, then close the top section using the
handle 2.
Emergency spare wheel
This is located in the luggage compartment. To
access it, lift the luggage compartment carpet 4
and the storage compartment 7. Attach the strap 5
to the hook 6.
Note: depending on the vehicle, there may be a
lower panel. You must remove it before accessing
the emergency spare wheel (refer to your Driver’s
Handbook).

Parking distance control
On equipped vehicles, the parking distance con-
trol measures the distance between the rear and/
or the front of the vehicle and any obstacles that
are nearby.
When approaching an obstacle during manoeuvres,
the beeps become faster and then sound continu-
ously when 25 cm from the obstacle.
You can temporarily or permanently deactivate the
system using the switch located on the dashboard:
refer to your Driver’s Handbook.
The lower section of the tailgate can carry a weight of up to 200 kg. This must be evenly distributed.

Accessing the vehicle
Locking/unlocking the
vehicle
The RENAULT card system replaces the traditional
key. Access to the vehicle is simple: a single press
is all that is needed, whether from a distance or
up close.
REMOTE CONTROL RENAULT CARD
Press:
‡ to unlock;
… to lock;
ˆ to switch on the exterior lights from a dis-
tance;
† to lock/unlock the luggage compartment
only.
“HANDS-FREE” RENAULT CARD
With the card on your person, in addition to the
RENAULT card remote functions, the following are
possible:
– automatic unlocking by pulling a door handle;
– manual locking by pressing on one of the door
handle or luggage compartment buttons.
Note: if necessary, you can use the manual mode
(in this case the hands-free mode will be opera-
tional again the next time the engine is started) or
the key 1. To release it, press button 2.
Note: in all cases:
– two flashes of the direction indicator lights con-
firm locking;
– one flash of the direction indicator lights con-
firms unlocking.
SPECIAL FEATURES
– never leave the RENAULT card in the vehicle;
– the detection zone of the card, necessary for
locking and unlocking the vehicle, depends on
the surrounding environment or location of the
card.
AUTOMATIC WINDOW CLOSING
If all windows in the vehicle are fitted with a one-
touch mode you can close them simultaneously by
pressing twice on button … or on one of the
door handle buttons.
Important: for vehicles fitted with deadlock-
ing press and hold the button for more than
one second.
ACCESSING THE VEHICLE

… for vehicles fitted with deadlocking, one
single press on this button (or on one of the
door handle or luggage compartment buttons)
prevents the vehicle from opening, even from
inside.
To lock the vehicle without deadlocking it, press
twice.
Never leave your vehicle with the Renault card
inside and never leave a child (or a pet) unsuper-
vised, even for a short while.

RENAULT card

Starting the engine
With the remote control RENAULT Card in the
reader 2or hands-free RENAULT card in the in-
terior detection zone (excluding certain high loca-
tions such as the sun visor etc.) apply the follow-
ing starting conditions:
MANUAL GEARBOX
With the gear lever in neutral, press button 1.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
With the lever in position P, press button 1.
Note: for vehicles fitted with the hands-free
RENAULT card, press the brake pedal to start the
engine.
Stopping the engine
With the vehicle stationary, press button 1.

Accessing functions
To access all the vehicle functions, press button 1
without pressing the pedals.
Press the button twice to stop the operation.
Depending on the case, these functions will switch
off at the latest when the vehicle is locked.

– Warning lights:
The © warning light means you should
drive very carefully to an approved Dealer as
soon as possible. If you fail to follow this rec-
ommendation, you risk damaging your vehicle.
Warning light ® requires you to stop im-
mediately, for your own safety, as soon as traf-
fic conditions allow. Switch off the engine and
do not restart it. Contact an approved Dealer.
– Distance before service:
When the message “service due in…” along
with the remaining distance appears, this noti-
fies you when the next service is due.
Later, if necessary, the message “service ve-
hicle” requires that the vehicle be serviced as
soon as possible.

LISTENING TO THE RADIO OR A CD
Select the source (radio FM or CD) by pressing one of the buttons Aor D.
FM radio SOURCE
To select a radio station from a list in alphabetical order:
– depending on the equipment, press B, M(at the rear of the steering column control) or K(see next page)
to bring up the “LIST” or “A...Z”;
– turn control knob Mto scroll through the list of radio stations.
To store a radio station to one of the buttons numbered 1 to 6:
– select the radio station;
– press on one of the buttons from 1 to 6, until a beep sounds;
– to recall a stored radio station, press the corresponding button.
CD SOURCE
Insert a CD in the player, or for vehicles fitted with a 6 CD changer, press button Cbefore inserting the CD.
The system will start reading the CD automatically.
Hands-free Bluetooth®
telephone control
(depending on vehicle)
In order to use your hands-free telephone system,
you must pair your Bluetooth®mobile telephone to
the system when using it for the first time.
In order to do this, refer to the manual for your
telephone and the manual for the equipment.
After this, as soon as the vehicle is started, your
telephone will be recognised and automatically con-
nected to the hands-free system (if the Bluetooth®
connection for your telephone is activated).
To access the telephone menu of the hands-free
system, press button Don the steering column
control.
PHONE/AUDIO SYSTEM
Your vehicle may be fitted with a made-to-measure BOSE®
Hi-Fi system in the passenger compartment, which is in-
tended to provide a high level of sound quality for the driver
and passengers.

PHONE/NAVIGATION SYSTEM
Refer to the previous page for information on op-
erating the radio.
ENTERING AN ADDRESS AND STARTING
THE GUIDANCE
– Press F;
– turn the rotary push-button Gto select “New ad-
dress” or “Address” then press to confirm;
– enter the address fields (town and street) using
the keypad on the screen. To select and confirm
a character, rotate then press button G;
– when entry is complete, select “Guidance” or
“Start” and follow the voice guidance and on-
screen directions to your destination.
CANCELLING AN ACTION
Press J(BACK) if you wish to return to the previ-
ous menu or erase an entered character.
DISPLAYING THE MAP
Press button N(MAP) to return to the map at any
time.
ACCESSING LISTS
(depending on the equipment: addresses, phone
numbers and logs)
– Press For L;
– turn and press button Gor control knob Mto
confirm, depending on equipment:
– “Previous destinations”;
or
–“Addresses (address book and log)” then the
tab “Destination logs” using the buttons K(lo-
cated on the front panel, or at the rear of the
steering column control);
– turn and press button Gor control knob Mto
scroll and confirm the required address.
VOICE RECOGNITION
Your vehicle may have the voice recognition func-
tion (button P). You can control certain functions
of the system with your voice. For further informa-
tion, refer to the manual for this equipment.
RECONFIGURE YOUR BLUETOOTH®TELEPHONE
In order to use your hands-free telephone system,
you must pair your Bluetooth®mobile telephone to
the system when using it for the first time.
– Press H;
– select “Telephone” using button G;
– depending on the equipment, select:
–“Connection” and “Manage list of telephones”
and “None (Add New)”;
or
–“Bluetooth options” then “Register a Bluetooth
telephone”;
– it is essential to then refer to the manual of your
telephone.
After this, as soon as the vehicle is started, your tel-
ephone will be recognised and automatically con-
nected to the hands-free system (if the Bluetooth®
connection for your telephone is activated).

Lighting
Turn the ring 1to:
š to switch on the side lights;
k to switch on the dipped headlights;
AUTO to activate the automatic operation of the
headlights (depending on vehicle);
Hazard lights: pull the stalk towards you;
Main beam headlights: ring 1in position k ,
then push the stalk.
Wiping
Position handle 3to obtain:
– A: Wiping on request;
– B: Stop;
– C: Intermittent wiping or, depending on the vehi-
cle, automatic wiping;
– D: Continuous slow wipe;
– E: Continuous fast wipe.
Windscreen washer: pull stalk 3;
Rear screen washer: push stalk 3.
Rear screen wiper: turn ring 5.
Note: to adjust the wiping speed and the sensitivity
of automatic wiping, turn ring 4.

DRIVING POSITION: ADJUSTMENT
Manually controlled seats
TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARDS OR BACKWARDS
Lift the switch 1, slide the seat then release the
switch. Check that it is correctly locked.
TO RAISE OR LOWER THE SEAT
Move the switch 2as much as necessary to:
– raise: move upwards;
– lower: move downwards.
TO TILT THE SEATBACK
Lift the switch 3and position the seatback.
TO TILT THE SEATBACK
Move the top of the switch 5forwards or back-
wards until the required angle is reached.
Adjusting the lumbar
support on the driver’s
seat
Lower handle 6to increase the support and lift it
to decrease it.

seats
TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARDS OR BACKWARDS
Move the switch 4forwards or backwards to the
required position.
TO RAISE OR LOWER THE SEAT
Move the switch 4up or down until the required
height is reached.
TO RAISE OR LOWER THE FRONT OF THE SEAT
BASE
On the driver’s side, raise or lower the front of the
switch 4until the required height is reached.

Heated seats
For equipped vehicles, press the top of button 3
(for maximum heat) and the bottom (for moder-
ate heat).
To switch it off, return button 3to the centre po-
sition.
The system maintains the required temperature
with a thermostat.
A warning light on the instrument panel comes on
when the front passenger seat heating is in op-
eration.
DRIVING POSITION: ADJUSTMENT

Door mirrors
ADJUSTMENT
With the engine running, move button 4to select
the door mirror to be adjusted.
FOLDING DOOR MIRRORS
Move button 4to position E: the door mirrors fold
in.
To reset them for driving, return to position B, C
or D.
Headrest
RAISING THE HEADREST
Lift the headrest.
LOWERING THE HEADREST
Press button 1then lower the headrest.
TO ADJUST THE ANGLE OF THE HEADREST
Tilt the top of the headrest.
Seat belt
ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT
Pull the control 2then adjust the seatbelt.

All-wheel drive system
BAROMETER AND COMPASS
These functions show you the atmospheric pres-
sure, the direction in which the vehicle is travelling
and the current altitude.
SLOPE AND INCLINE
These functions show the incline of the vehicle,
the angle of lock of the front wheels and the slope
angle.
Refer to the multimedia instructions for details of
the system.
ALL-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM
All-terrain information
Depending on the vehicle, the display in the centre
of the dashboard shows information related to ve-
hicle usage. Refer to the multimedia equipment in-
structions to access the following information:
– barometer 2;
– compass 3;
– altimeter 4;
– incline 5;
– front wheel lock angle 6;
– slope 7.
All-wheel drive system:
4 drive wheels (4WD)
For equipped vehicles and depending on traffic
conditions, switch 1is used to select one of the
following modes:
– AUTO: default mode each time the engine is
started, the system controls the engine torque
on each wheel;
– 2WD: this mode uses the front wheels only;
– 4WD Lock: this mode uses the front and rear
axles, each with 50% of the power.
Refer to the Driver’s Handbook for special notes
on the system.

Heating and air conditioning system
Manual air conditioning
If you want to:
– select the temperature: turn control 1;
– activate/deactivate air recirculation: press
switch 2;
– adjust the ventilation speed: turn control 3;
– change the distribution of air: scroll through the
5positions by turning control 4;
– activate/deactivate the air conditioning: press
switch 5;
Automatic climate
control
To obtain the full benefit from the automatic heat-
ing and air conditioning system, select the right
and left-hand temperatures using controls 6and 9
then press button 7.
Note:pressing one of the other buttons will exit
automatic mode according to your requirements.
Pressing button 7once, for longer than 2seconds,
adjusts the passenger temperature from the driv-
er’s temperature.
HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

AIR CONDITIONING
Button 8activates (integrated indicator on) or in-
hibits (integrated indicator off) the operation of the
air conditioning.
AIR RECIRCULATION
If you wish to isolate the passenger compartment
from the external air, press button 10; the inte-
grated warning light on the button comes on.
