2. Introduction
The Lumnia Slim unit uses one ultra-violet LED driven lamp that attracts flying insects,
which are then captured on a replaceable glue board. The Slim product is a glue board
monitoring device.
While unpacking, check for any signs of shipment damage and, if found, notify both
transporter and supplier in writing as soon as possible with full details of the damage that
has occurred. Retain the equipment and packing materials for inspection. Check that all
parts have been received as ordered. Make sure that all packaging is removed from the
unit before use. This unit is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of manufacture. The UV
LED lamp is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of manufacture against manufacturer’s
defects. Lamps should be replaced every 3 years.

4. Installation Instructions:
DANGER: You must NOT connect the unit into a lighting circuit.
WARNING: You must connect the power cable to a standard power outlet.
Connecting the Power Source
DANGER: SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No
grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a means for grounding
be added to the appliance. Servicing of a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and
knowledge of the system and should be done only by a qualified service personnel. Replacement
parts for a double insulated appliance must be identical to those parts in the appliance.
A double-insulated appliance is marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATION” or “DOUBLE
INSULATED”. The symbol (square within a square) may also be marked on the appliance.
Once installed as above and mounted correctly, fit the mains plug into the power outlet.

Click
1. Pull down the tab with an arrow to
insert or remove the correct pin
adaptor into the mains plug housing.
2. Plug the jack end of the power cable
into the socket at the back of the
Lumnia unit.

5. Positioning the Unit
Figure 1:
Position the unit on a suitable wall at a minimum
height of 6’1” (1.86 M) to the bottom of the unit.
Figure 1 illustrates the suggested mounting height.
A ladder should not be required for servicing at this
height.
Position the unit as far as possible from sources of
ambient light. Ambient light can cause inecient
capture of flying insects. Ideally position the unit
so the cable entry is within 4’9” (1.5M) of an electric
outlet. If this is not possible the unit must be
connected safely by a qualified electrician.
To ensure that the product minimises risk UV exposure especially to eyes, it is
recommended that the product is installed at a minimum height of 6’1” (1.86 M) from the
bottom of the unit and also at least 3’3” (1M) from any area that may have persons occupying
for more than 4 hours in a day (see Figure 2).
It is also recommended that the product is not installed higher than 6’1” (1.86 M) to ensure
that the product can be maintained by the majority of technicians without the use of a
ladder.
Figure 2:

Figure 3:
DO NOT position the unit directly over areas where food is prepared, or where
uncovered food is stored.
DO NOT position unit directly over sources of heat.
For safety reasons, the unit contains a micro switch that disables the UV lamp if the
front cover is removed.
Figure 3 indicates the size and space considerations for mounting the product above
furniture.
6. Positioning Guide
• Not facing entry/exit point or windows - to avoid attracting unwanted insects or
competing light sources.
• Avoid putting on same surface as competing light source.
• Mounting on clear surface preferable to maximise UV footprint.
• Maximise line of sight (i.e. Have clear line of sight from any point within coverage
area away from food source or high risk area).
• When positioning the unit, ensure the desired power socket is within 4’9” (1.5 M) of
the cable socket at the back of the unit.
• This unit is an indoor product and should not be used outdoors.
