RE108N Hardwire-to-Napco
®
Wireless Translator™
Features
•Converts hardwire zones into Napco-compatible wireless signals.
•8 Hardwire loops with end-of-line resistor detection.
•Unique wireless ID (or loop) for each zone, plus 1 for main device.
•Transmit diversity for long reliable range.
•PIR powering (via external supply).
•3 year operation on batteries (contacts only).
•Complete supervision of zone tampers and low battery.
Key nstructions
•Use with normally closed contacts in-line with 4. K-ohms end-of-line
resistors.
•4-wire PIRs and Glassbreaks only. Not for use with 2-wire powered devices.
•External supply (wall-AC): 12V DC at least 50 mA.
•PIR usage: Adds current demand to external supply – see Specifications.
•2 AA Alkaline batteries will drive contacts-only. Backup batteries cannot
drive a PIR; and under external supply failure, the PIR would likely alarm.
•Enrolling:
Put Panel in Enroll mode.
Use the 6-digit D # and 1-digit checksum numbers
•Translator D # ends in 0. Label on battery.
•Zone Loops 1-8 D #s end in 1-8. Labels in cover.
Operation
•Translator Main Zone wireless transmission (1
st
unique ID ending in “0”):
Tamper, when cover opened.
Low battery, when either low AA batteries, OR loss of 12V DC
external.
Supervisory every hour.
•8 Hardwire 4. K-ohm Zones – transmit 8 unique wireless IDs
Alarm, when Device sees open circuit.
Tamper, when device sees short circuit.
Supervisories, every hour for each zone.
•LED Operation
Green LED: On if AC power present.
Red LED: If 12V external is connected: LED “Blinks” on transmit to
panel, “ON” if device tamper or device low battery.
