5. Care and safety
Cleaning and maintenance
Vacuum the outside of modeX Transmitter with a soft brush. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. Never use
cleaning products or solvents. From time to time check that the cords and connections are intact.
Repairs
If your product malfunctions, it must be repaired by a qualified technician. Do not attempt to open the case
of the device since this would invalidate the warranty. If your product requires service, please contact your
hearing care professional for assistance.
Waste disposal
This product contains electrical and/or electronic equipment and must be treated as electronic
waste. The product must not be disposed of in household waste when it reaches the end of its life
but taken to a recycling point or to the dealer. Please contact your local hearing care professional
concerning disposal of the product.
General precautions
• Different types of radiation, e.g. from NMR or CT scanners, may damage the device. Therefore, do not
wear the device in the vicinity of this type of equipment. Other types of radiation (burglar alarms, room
surveillance systems, radio equipment, mobile telephones, etc) will not damage the device. These types of
radiation could, however, momentarily affect the sound quality or create noise in the device.
• Mains adapter. Only approved mains adapters from GN ReSound may be used (see Accessories).
Any issues relating to the EU Medical Devices Directive
93/42/EEC should be directed to GN ReSound A/S.
