RF Safety
This two-way radio uses electromagnetic energy in the radio frequency (RF)
spectrum to provide communications between two or more users over a
distance. RF energy, which when used improperly, can cause biological
damage. Please refer to the following websites for more information on what
RF energy exposure is and how to control your exposure to assure compliance
with established RF exposure limits: http://www.who.int/en/
Transmitting necessa information or less, is impoant because the radio
generates measurable RF energy exposure only when transmitting in terms of
measuring for standards compliance. For users who wish to fuher reduce
their exposure, some eective measures to reduce RF exposure include:
•Reduce the amount of time spent using your wireless device.
•Increase the distance between wireless devices and your body.
•This radio is designed for and classied as “General population/uncontrolled
use”. General population/uncontrolled environments are dened as locations
where there is exposure of individuals who have no knowledge or control of
RF exposure level.
Electromagnetic Inteerence/Compatibility
Nearly eve electronic device is susceptible to electromagnetic inteerence
(EMI) if inadequately shielded, designed, or otherwise congured for
electromagnetic compatibility. During transmissions, your radio generates RF
energy that can possibly cause inteerence with other devices or systems. To
avoid such inteerence, turn o the radio in areas where signs are posted to
do so, such as hospitals or healthcare facilities.
Protect your hearing
• Use the lowest volume necessa to do your job. Turn up
the volume only if you are in noisy surroundings.
CAUTION: Exposure to loud noises from any source for
extended periods of time may temporarily or permanently
aect your hearing. The louder the radio's volume, the less time is required
before your hearing could be aected. Hearing damage from loud noise is
sometimes undetectable at rst and can have a cumulative eect.
10.1 Batteries Safety
•In the event of a batte leaking, do not allow the liquid to come into
contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the aected
area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice immediately.
•If a radio or a batte has been submerged in water, please d and clean it
before use. Do not d the radio or batte with an appliance or heat source,
such as a hair der or microwave oven. If the radio has been submersed in a
corrosive substance (e.g. saltwater), rinse the radio and batte in fresh water,
then d them.
•Turn o your radio before removing or installing a batte. Store spare
batteries securely. Dispose of used batteries immediately and safely.
•The batte supply terminals are not to be sho-circuit.
•Batteries should be removed from the appliance when not being used for
long periods of time (months). The batteries should be enclosed in special
protective packaging (such as sealed plastic bags or variants) which should be
retained to protect them from condensation during the time they are warming
to ambient temperature.
•Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the equipment.
•Do not dismantle, open or shred batteries. Batteries should be dismantled
only by trained people.
•Disposal of a batte into re, or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or
cutting of a batte, that can result in explosion;
•Batteries shall be charged at 10℃~40℃ environment temperature specied.
If the environment temperature is lower than 0℃, the charge shall be
prohibited.
•Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged by adults or by children at
least 8 years old under adult supeision.
•Unplug the charger from the AC outlet before attempting any maintenance
or cleaning.
•NEVER charge a batte unless it is a rechargeable batte.
•Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd; Ni-MH)
batteries.
•Batteries must be inseed with the correct polarity. Replacement of a
batte with an incorrect type can defeat the safeguard. There will be a risk of
re or explosion if a batte is replaced by an incorrect type.
•Do not mix batteries of dierent manufacture, capacity, size, or type within a
device.
•If the batte compament (if applicable) does not close securely, stop
using the product and keep it away from children;
•Never put batteries in your mouth. Swallowing may lead to serious inju or
death. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or otherwise placed
inside any pa of the body, please seek immediate medical attention and
contact the local poison control center.;
Unfounately, it is not obvious when a small-size batte, such as a button or
coin batte, is stuck in a children’s esophagus (food pipe). There are no
specic symptoms associated with this. The child might:
•Cough, gag or drool a lot;
•Appear to have a stomach upset or a virus;
•Be sick;
•Point to their throats or stomachs;
•Have pain in their abdomen, chest, or throat;
•Be tired or lethargic;
•Be quieter or more clingy than usual or otherwise “ not themselves”;
•Lose their appetite or have a reduced appetite;
•Not want to eat solid food/ be unable to eat solid food.
These sos of symptoms va or uctuate with the pain increasing or
subsiding. A specic symptom of button and coin batte ingestion is vomiting

•Batteries should be removed from the appliance when not being used for

protective packaging (such as sealed plastic bags or variants) which should be
retained to protect them from condensation during the time they are warming
to ambient temperature.
•Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the equipment.
•Do not dismantle, open or shred batteries. Batteries should be dismantled
only by trained people.
•Disposal of a batte into re, or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or
cutting of a batte, that can result in explosion;
•Do not mix batteries of dierent manufacture, capacity, size, or type within a
device.
•If the batte compament (if applicable) does not close securely, stop
using the product and keep it away from children;
•Never put batteries in your mouth. Swallowing may lead to serious inju or
death. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or otherwise placed
inside any pa of the body, please seek immediate medical attention and
contact the local poison control center.;
Unfounately, it is not obvious when a small-size batte, such as a button or
coin batte, is stuck in a children’s esophagus (food pipe). There are no
specic symptoms associated with this. The child might:
•Cough, gag or drool a lot;
