1 ) System Features
1.1 ) Heat Alert
The heat alert system mo itors temperature, vehicle power, a d motio i side the ke el
(optio al) to determi e if the K9 is i da ger of overheati g.
Alert Delay: The alert delay postpo es the heat alert fu ctio after system start-up or a
alert reset. The duratio of the delay is adjustable i the Heat Alert me u.
Voltage Monitor: The voltage that is fed to the system is mo itored for low voltage
co ditio s. If the voltage drops below about 8 volts, a Vehicle Power Alert will be
triggered.
AUX nput: The system is equipped with a auxiliary i put. A Aux I put Alert is
triggered whe this i put is activated.
AUX Output: The auxiliary output ca be co ected some other alarm device such as a
strobe, sire , GSM dialer, etc. Whe a alert is triggered, this output will become active.
The type of active sig al ca be programmed to fit the applicatio .
AUX Power: The auxiliary power output ca supply vehicle power to a peripheral device.
This output is o ly active whe the F-Series system is powered o .
Temp Sensors: The system utilizes two digital temperature se sors for high accuracy as
well as decreased false alarms. Both the of temp se sors must be at or over the Alert
Temp set i the Heat Alert me u to trigger a alert.
Window Drop: The wi dows that are selected i the Heat Alert me u will roll dow o e at
a time whe a heat alert is triggered. The me u optio ca be set to roll dow just the left,
just the right, or both wi dows.
Fan Control: The optio al fa is co trolled both ma ually a d automatically. The ma ual
fa co trol is through the right butto of the HUD a d ca be set to three differe t speeds
or tur ed off. Whe a heat alert is triggered, the system will automatically tur the fa o
at full speed.
Horn and Lights Alarm: There are dedicated outputs for the vehicle's lights a d hor .
These outputs begi to fu ctio after a programmable delay which begi s whe a heat
alert is activated.
Motion Sensor: The motio se sor is a optio al feature that will detect motio i side the
ke el for a specified amou t of time after the system has bee tur ed off. For example, if
the Heat Alert system is powered dow , but the K9 is accide tally left i the vehicle, the
system will detect the motio of the K9 a d e ter a alert state.

1.2 ) Deployment
Whe the Deploy-K9 butto is pressed o the Remote/Pager, a comma d is se t
to the POD to u lock a d the u latch the deployme t door so that the gas push-
rod ca push the door ope .
Deployment Safety Lock-out: Either a Park/Neutral or vehicle speed sig al i put
ca be used to automatically disable the deployme t feature whe the vehicle is i
gear or movi g, respectively.
Unlock Output: This feature u locks the deployme t door prior to u latchi g it
a d has a programmable output duratio for vehicle compatibility.
Unlatch Output: After u locki g the door, the system activates a sole oid i side
the deployme t door that is mecha ically co ected to the latch mecha ism
causi g the latch to dise gage.
Window Drop: The left, right, or both wi dows ca be set to drop immediately
after a deployme t. This feature, if used, is typically e abled o the deployme t
door i order to deter a seco d suspect from holdi g the deployme t door closed.
If used, there should ot be a wi dow guard i stalled o the deployme t door.
