3.PressPTTtosavethecodesetting.
Youcanseta differentcodeforeachchannelusingthisprocedure.
Note:YoumustsettheInterferenceEliminatorCodeto0 onanFRSradio
thatusesInterferenceEliminatorCodestocommunicatewithotherFRS
radiosthatdonothaveInterferenceEliminatorCodes.
Topreventaccidentaltransmissionsandsavebatterylife,theradioemitsa
continuouswarningtoneandstopstransmittingifyoupressPTTfor180
continuousseconds.

volume,receive,transmit,senda calltone,andmonitorchannels.Allother
functionsarelocked.
Tounlocktheradio,pressandhold© for3 secondsoruntil® lsno
longerdisplayed.
Usescanningtomonitorchannelsfortransmissionsortofindsomeonein
yourgroupwhohasaccidentallychangedchannels.
Tostartscanning,brieflypressandrelease^ Thescanindicator^
displays.Whentheradiodetectschannelactivity,itstopsscanningandyou
canhearthetransmission.Torespondtothetransmission,pressPTTwithin
5seconds.
Iftheradiostopsscanningona channelyoudonotw anttolistento,briefly
pressandreleaseUPorDOWNbuttontoresumescanningforthenext
activechannel.

exposureandensurecompliancewiththegeneralpopulation/uncontrolled

•Transmitnomorethan50%ofthetime.
•Totransmit < talk).pressthePushtoTalk(PIT)button.
•Toreceivecalls,releasethePTTbutton.
Transmitting50%ofthetime,orless,isimportantbecausetheradio
generatesmeasurableRFenergyexposureonlywhentransmitting(interms
ofmeasuringstandardscompliance).
