Description
A versatile general purpose Remote Control System for many different applications.
Housed in a rugged IP68 weatherproof enclosure, The TRAP system is ideally suited to any
outside Remote switching. Receivers have 4 relay outputs, using the ‘easy-learn’ process
each output can be controlled from one or many switches form one or many transmitters.

Installation
Below is a simple example showing one possible way to wire a relay in order to give switched power
to an external load:
When the relay is energised the ‘COM’ connects to ’NO’ and power is applied to the Load.
1. Open the enclosure by removing fixing screws from the enclosure
2. Remove the antenna and slide out the circuit board.
3. Connect the power supply screw terminals 12-32V ac or dc to the supply terminals.
4. Wire your desired connections to the relay switches
5. Once all required wiring is complete, use the handheld transmitter to switch the outputs.
6. Change the output functions to latching, / Momentary Operation.

Receiver Operation - Relay Outputs
The TRAP system provides changeover relay switches each capable of switching up to 1.2KW
(5A @ 230V). Each relay is independent and separately controlled. Each output relay provides
an isolated switch. Connections are Common (COM), Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed
(NC).

Receiver Configuration
The link pins LK1 and LK2 set the action of the relays
1/2sec Mom = Relay will operate for 1/2sec
Mom = Relay will operate for as long as transmitter switch operated
Latch = Relay will toggle ON/OFF on each transmitter button press

Transmitter Operation
Press any of the switches to operate. The Transmitter will
auto sleep between operations to save power
The LED’s indicate the following:
RF Transmit
The GREEN LED operates when transmitting an RF
signal
RF Acknowledge (if configured) :
After RF Transmission if acknowledge is configured
the GREEN LED will Flash at high speed to indicate
that an acknowledgment has successfully been re-
ceived back form the receiver
The RED LED will Flash at high speed to indicate that
an acknowledgment has not been received back form
the receiver
Low Battery:
Low Battery LED illuminates for 3 seconds after each operation

Configuring Modes of Operation
To configure the modes of operation, undo the six en-
closure fixing screws to access the internal circuit
board.
The SET switch is used to configure the operating
modes
The Following Modes can be configured
1. Acknowledgement back from the Receiver
2. Continuous or State Change Transmission

Configure Transmitter to request Acknowledge from
Receiver
Acknowledgement Feature provides the user with LED indication that the
receiver has successfully received the transmitters signal.
When activated the Transmitter includes an acknowledgement request
from the receiver within each radio transmission.
The response from the receiver is indicated on the transmitter via the
RED / GREEN LEDs.
RF Acknowledgment from Receiver - Warning!
When Acknowledgement is ON, TRAP Transmitter requests an RF signal
back from the receiver. Whilst in theory if an RF signal can be transmitted
one way then it can be returned, in practice occasionally the received
acknowledgement many not penetrate as well as the transmitted signal.
When a switch button is operated TRAP will transmit a “Button Down”
RF Transmission
When a switch button is released TRAP will transmit a “Button Up” RF
Transmission
Continuous Transmit
TRAP repeat transmits “button Down” in short bursts for as long as
switch button is pressed.
If the Acknowledgment is ON the receiver will reply after each RF
transmission burst.
This is ideally suited to momentary operation where the receiver out-
put needs to be active as long as the user presses down a TRAP But-
ton .
State Change Transmit
TRAP transmits an RF transmission only when the switch button is
pressed or released (i.e. a state change).
On each of these “state changes” TRAP transmits upto 4 transmis-
sions, or, “RF packets” (which can be seen by the GREEN LED flashing
upto 4 times,
If the Acknowledgment is ON the receiver will reply immediately.
After receiving an Acknowledgment the TRAP will cease sending any
remaining of the 4 transmissions.
To Set Continuous or State Change RF Transmissions

With this system, you can pair together any individual trans-
mitter switch with any receiver relay switch. Without opening
either enclosure:
1. Remove the green transmitter rubber over-boot
2. Briefly (~1 second) place the transmitter next to the re-
ceiver in the position shown and then remove it.
3. The receiver will buzz once (One buzz means the receiver
unit is ready to allocate a transmitter to relay output 1)
To select relay output 2, 3 o 4, briefly place the trans-
mitter again so that the Buzzer Buzzes to indicate the
Relay output 2,3, or 4.
4. Press the switch on the transmitter which you wish to
pair
5. The receiver will buzz twice to confirm pairing
6. Repeat for any additional transmitter switches
NOTE: Each receiver has a maximum memory for up to 28
pairings, these can be from any switches on any transmitters

1. Hold the transmitter in the position shown in position for ~10 seconds.
2. The receiver will sound a long buzz to confirm all Transmitters are erased

available to convert this to Standard SMA type
