Important Safety Information
• This product is only intended for audio entertainment. Do not use the product for
any other purpose than described in is manual in order to avoid any hazardous
situation. Improper use is dangerous and will void any warranty claim.
• For household use only. Do not use outdoors.

hearing loss. If you listen to loud music for a long time, your hearing may be
impaired. Set to a moderate volume.

Quick start guide
Power On and Autoscan
Place the Sunrise Clock radio on a suitable shelf or table, extend the
telescopic antenna and connect the power adapter to the Sunrise Clock
radio and the mains supply.
To Power on; Long Press (approx.: 1 sec) the Power/Snooze button or
Press the Main button on the rear to turn the Clock radio on, Repeat to
return the Clock Radio into standby.
For DAB
Long Press the Power/Snooze to turn on.
1. Press ‘Mode/Menu’ button to select DAB.
2. For rst time use, it will automatically do station scanning.
3. Press the ‘- Station +’ button to nd desired station and press ‘Select’
button once to conrm selection.
4. Your radio will automatically tune.
5. Adjust the volume using the ‘- Volume +’ button, press ‘-’ side to
decrease and press ‘+’ side to increase volume.
For FM
Long Press the Power/Snooze to turn on.
1. Press ‘Mode/Menu’ button to select FM.
2. Scan for stations, press ‘- Station +’ for 3 seconds.
3. Your radio will automatically tune.
4. Press the ‘- Station +’ button to nd desired station.*
5. Adjust the volume using the ‘- Volume +’ button, press ‘-’ side to
decrease and press ‘+’ side to increase volume.
NOTE: During the scanning, operation of the sound level will be muted
automatically.
*In FM mode you can also tune the station manually, pressing the ‘- Station
+’ button to adjust the FM frequencies with 50kHz up or down respectively.

Basic Operation
1. Standby mode*
Connect DC power adapter, the radio will enter standby mode.
Display will show the time and date information after synchronize
to station signal.
*Standby mode will only work when DC power adapter is connected.
Switch between Standby, DAB and FM mode
Long Press the Power/Snooze button to turn on the radio. It will enter
radio mode.
Press the ‘Mode/Menu’ button to toggle between DAB and FM mode.
Long Press the Power/Snooze button to return to standby mode.
2. Alarm Setting
This Digital Clock radio includes dual alarms and can be activated
together for 2 different alarm settings (Alarm1 and Alarm 2) or you may
wish to activate one alarm at a time. Once an alarm is activated you will
nd the alarm icons displayed on the front display.
To set alarm, rst make sure to set the clock.
NOTE: You have approximately 60 seconds between each selection
before the alarm is automatically cancelled by the clock radio and you
have to start again.
3. Alarm Set Up
Long Press Power/Snooze to turn the Clock Radio on.
To set Alarm 1, press ‘Alarm 1’ button or set Alarm 2, press ‘Alarm 2’
button. The alarm icon or will ash.
Press the ‘Select’ button to setup the alarm, then the screen shows
‘Alarm 1 Wizard’ or ‘Alarm 2 Wizard’.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to set hour part of alarm time, and then press
the ‘Select’ button to conrm.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to set minute part of alarm time, and then press
the ‘Select’ button to conrm.

Press ‘- Station +’ button to set alarm duration time, and then press the
‘Select’ button to conrm. Duration options: 15/30/45/60/90/120 minutes.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to set alarm source, and then press the ‘Select’
button to conrm. Source options: Buzzer/DAB/FM.
When choosing DAB and FM for the alarm source, last listened and
preset stations you have stored are available. Press ‘- Station +’ button
to select and press ‘Select’ button to conrm.
Note: If you have selected DAB as the alarm source and the DAB signal
strength is low, the buzzer alarm will be triggered instead.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to select which days the alarm will be active,
and then press ‘Select’ button to conrm.
Alarm active options: Daily/Once/Weekends/Weekdays.
Note: If you have selected ‘Once’, press ‘- Station +’ button to set date
which the alarm will be active, and then press ‘Select’ button to conrm.
Press ‘- Volume +’ button to adjust alarm volume, and then press ‘Select’
button to conrm.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to set Alarm state ‘On’ or “Off” then press the
‘Select’ button to conrm.
The radio will display ‘Alarm Saved’. The alarm icon or will show
on the display.
4. Snooze function
When the alarm sounds, press ‘Snooze’ button to active snooze. Press
‘Snooze’ button repeatedly to set the snooze time to 5,10,15 or 30
minutes, then the alarm will temporarily stop. The radio will go to standby
mode and show snooze time.
Note: With the snooze time particular options are relative to the alarm
duration time you selected.
Duration Snooze time
15 minutes 5, 10 minutes
30 minutes 5, 10, 15 minutes
45/60/90/120 minutes 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes

5. Stop alarm
You can stop the alarm by pressing the ‘Alarm 1’ or ‘Alarm 2’ button
when alarms sounds.
6. Switch alarm off
Press the ‘Alarm 1’ or ‘Alarm 2’ button. The alarm icon or will ash.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to set alarm state ‘Off’, and then press ‘Select’
button to conrm.
It will display ‘Alarm Saved’. The alarm icon or will disappear from
display.
7. Sleep
This enables your radio to switch to standby mode by itself after a set
sleep time.
Press ‘Sleep’ button repeatedly to select a sleep time, and then press
‘Select’ button to conrm. The sleep icon will show on the display.
Sleep time options: off/15/30/45/60/90 minutes.
After setting the sleep time, you can view the sleep time countdown by
pressing ‘Sleep’ button.
Press ‘Sleep’ button repeatedly to select ‘Sleep off’, and then press
‘Select’ button to turn off sleep timer.
8. Dimmer function
The brightness of the display can be adjusted manually with the ‘-
Dimmer +’ buttons on the rear panel.
There are a total of 5 levels of light intensity.
Press ‘Dimmer -’ button once to decrease the level by 1 step.
Press ‘Dimmer +’ button once to increase the level by 1 step.

9. Preset
Spectrum Clock radio has a ‘Preset’ button to store or recall for DAB and
FM stations.
To store a preset
Press and hold the ‘Preset’ button until the display shows the text ‘Preset
Store’. Press the ‘- Station +’ button to select the preset number. Press
the ‘Select’ button to conrm to store the station.
Recall a station to the preset list
To recall a preset station, press the ‘Preset’ button once the display
shows the text ‘Preset Recall’. Press the ‘- Station +’ button to select the
preset number. Press the ‘Select’ button to conrm to recall the stored
station.
10. Info
Press the ‘Select’ button repeatedly to change the information shown on
the screen.
Info options in DAB mode:
• DLS (Dynamic Label Segment
- short text information
broadcast with DAB audio)
• Signal strength
• PTY (Programme type)
• Ensemble
• Frequency
• Signal quality
• Bitrate
• Time
• Date
Info options in FM mode:

11. DAB menu
This allows you to tailor the DAB radio with a variety of options to suit
you. Press and hold the ‘Mode/Menu’ button until enter menu mode.
Using ‘- Station +’ button, press ‘-’ or ‘+’ button to select option.
Press ‘Mode/Menu’ to take a step back within the menu. You can exit the
Menu by pressing and holding the ‘Mode/Menu’ button.
Menu options in DAB mode:
• Full scan
• Manual tune
• DRC
• Prune
• System
• Info
12. Full scan
In DAB menu, using ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Full scan’ and press the
‘Select’ button once to conrm, then full scan starts automatically. Once
a scan is completed, the radio returns to play the previously selected
station or rst station on the station list.
NOTE: If no radio station is found, it shows ‘No DAB Station’.
For a better reception, extend the antenna or do the full scan again in
another place.
13. Manual scan
As well as the normal method of scanning, you can also manually tune
to a particular channel/frequency. This can be useful for adjusting your
antenna to achieve the best possible reception and scanning a particular
channel to update the station list.
In DAB menu, using ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Manual tune’ and press
the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again
to select a particular channel/frequency and press the ‘Select’ button
once to conrm the setting.
The display shows a live indication of the received signal strength on the
selected frequency. Adjustments to your antenna will be manifested in
the received signal strength displayed.

14. DRC (Dynamic Range Compression)
This function reduces the difference between the loudest and
quietest audio being broadcast. Effectively, this makes quiet sounds
comparatively louder and loud sounds comparatively quieter. Options:
off(default) / high / low
In DAB menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘DRC’ and press the
‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again to
select a particular setting and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm
the setting.
NOTE: DRC only works if it is enabled by the broadcaster for a specic
station.
DRC is not broadcast or enabled in Australia.
15. Prune
This removes all invalid stations indicated in the station list with a ‘?’ in
front of the station name.
In DAB menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Prune’ and press the
‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again to
select <Yes>, and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm.
16. System
In DAB menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘System’ and press the
‘Select’ button once to conrm.
The System menu options are:
• Time
• Backlight
• Language
• Factory Reset
• SW version
17. Time
In the time menu, you can set the time, time format and source for the
time update.
NOTE: When in a DAB Broadcast area the Time and Date is broadcast
by the DAB radio stations and the Sunrise Clock Radio will update
automatically.

18. Set Time/Date
Under system menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Time’ and press
the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again
to select ‘Set Time/Date’ and press the ‘Select’ button once to start
setting Time/Date.
• Set the time (Hour) by pressing ‘- Station +’ button and conrm the
setting by pressing ‘Select’ button.
• Set the time (Minute) by pressing ‘- Station +’ button and conrm the
setting by pressing ‘Select’ button.
• Set the date by pressing ‘- Station +’ button and conrm the setting
by pressing ‘Select’ button.
After nishing all steps, it will show ‘Time Saved’.
19. Auto update
Under system menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Time’ and press
the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again
to select ‘Auto Update’ and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to select the source for the time update, and
then press the ‘Select’ button to conrm.
Source for the time update:
• Update from Any
• Update from DAB
• Update from FM
• No update
20. Set 12/24 hour
Under system menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Time’ and press
the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again
to select ‘Set 12/24 hour’ and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm.
Then press ‘- Station +’ button again to select ‘Set 12 hour’ or ‘Set 24
Hour’ and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm.

21. Set date format
Under system menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Time’ and press
the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then press ‘- Station +’ button again
to select ‘Set date format’ and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to select the date format and then press the
‘Select’ button once to conrm.
22. Backlight
The Sunrise Clock radio has a backlight with three brightness settings,
and adjustable timeout (this is the time delay, in seconds, after which the
display switches to the Dim level).
There are three settings:
• Timeout – Light On 10 I 20 I 30 I 45 I 60 I 90 120 180 sec I Off
• On level – Level 1 I Level 2 I Level 3 I Level 4 I Level 5
• Dim level – Level 1 I Level 2 I Level 3 I Level 4 I Level 5
23. Language
The language used for display messages can be selected from:
English I Espanol I Français I Italiano I Nederlands I Norsk I Polski I
Suomi I Dansk I Deutsch
24. Factory reset
A factory reset clears all user dened settings, replacing them with the
original default values, so time/date, preferences/settings, DAB station
list and preset stations are all lost.
Under system menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘Factory Reset’
and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then, use the ‘- Station +’
button to choose <Yes> and press the ‘Select’ button again to conrm
and start the factory reset.
25. Software version
This is used to display the current software version.
Under system menu, press ‘- Station +’ button to select ‘SW version’ and
press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm. Then the existing SW version
will be shown.

26. FM Menu
This allows you to tailor the FM radio with a variety of options to suit you.
Press and hold the ‘Mode/Menu’ button until enter menu mode.
Using ‘- Station +’ button, press ‘-’ or ‘+’ button to select option.
Press ‘Mode/Menu’ to take a step back within the menu.
You can exit the Menu by pressing and holding the ‘Mode/Menu’ button.
Menu options in FM mode:
• Scan setting
• Audio setting
• Scan behavior

27. Scan setting
FM scans stop at available station. If choosing scan at all station, this
may result in poor quality audio from weak stations.
Options:
• Strong stations only(default)
• AII stations
Press ‘- Station +’ button to select particular option in ‘Scan setting’ and
press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm the change to new setting
28. Audio setting
By default, all stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak
stations, this may result in poor quality audio. The audio quality can be
improved using mono.
Options:
• Stereo allowed (default)
• Forced mono.
Press ‘- Station +’ button to select particular option in ‘Audio setting’ and
press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm the change to new setting

29. Scan behavior
By default, press and hold ‘Select’ button for 2 seconds in FM radio
mode, you can search an available station, and stay on the station.
If you select ‘Auto’, press and hold ‘Select’ button for 2 seconds in FM
radio mode, it will automatically full scan and store stations into preset
station list.
Options:
• Manual (default)
• Auto
Press ‘- Station +’ button to select particular option in ‘Scan behavior’
and press the ‘Select’ button once to conrm the change to new setting.
Troubleshooting

Usually due to low signal strength.
Check / move antenna.
Move radio. Rescan local (high-strength) stations

DRC not working DRC only works if it is enabled by the broadcaster

THE ENCLOSED TERMS AND CONDITIONS RELATE TO THE WARRANTY
PROVIDED BY RICHTER AUDIO PTY LTD (“Richter Audio”) (ABN 22 613 067
815) products purchased within Australia.
This warranty applies for a period of 1 Year (12 months) from the date of
purchase (“Warranty Period”)
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STANDARD WARRANTY
1 Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a
major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or
damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the
goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a
major failure.
2 The benets to the consumer given by this Warranty are in addition to other
rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to goods or
services to which the warranty relates, being the Australian Consumer Law.
3 Subject to Clause 1 above and the terms below, as your Standard Warranty,
Richter Audio agrees to repair or replace at cost the Richter product, and
any accessory supplied with the product, purchased by you in Australia
when the product does not perform in accordance with the manufacturer’s
specications during the Warranty period.
4 To make a claim under the Standard Warranty you will need to:
(a) Contact Richter Audio through our website www.richter.com.au for
customer support.
(b) Refund or replacement via your Richter Audio’s Authorised Retailer is
available for a period of 14 days after purchase for goods that have been
inspected and determined to have a major failure. Refund and exchange is
not applicable if you change your mind after purchase.
(c) Note that you will need to submit proof of purchase (e.g. delivery invoice,
invoice or purchase receipt) with your claim.
5 Products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished products of
the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to
repair the products. Replacement of the product or a part does not extend or
restart the Warranty Period.
6 If the product presented for repair is capable of retaining user-generated
data, you are advised that repair of the product may result in loss of the data.
Richter Audio shall not be held responsible for any loss of such data as a
consequence of fault-nd or repair process.

7 The product will be at the owner’s risk whilst in transit to and from the Richter
Audio Service Centre, unless transported by Richter Audio or 3rd party
transport booked by Richter Audio.
8 Richter Audio will bear the expense of transport where transported by Richter
Audio. Any other expense of claiming the warranty will be covered by the
owner of the goods.
9 Richter Audio may seek reimbursement of any costs incurred by them when
the product is found to be in good working order. The owner of the goods will
cover any return transport cost.
10 Products returned to Richter Audio by a courier and are damaged in transit by
insufcient packing will be quoted and the cost of the repair will be covered by
the owner of the goods.
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
11 Subject always to Clause 1 the Standard Warranty will not apply:
(a) if the product has not been installed, operated, maintained or used in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or specications provided
with the product.
(b) to damage, malfunction or failure resulting from alterations, accident,
misuse, abuse, re, liquid spillage, mis-adjustment of customer controls, use
on an incorrect voltage, power surges and dips, thunderstorm activity, acts
of God, voltage supply problems, tampering or unauthorised repairs by any
persons, use of defective or incompatible accessories, the operation of a
computer virus of any kind, exposure to abnormally corrosive conditions or
entry by any insect, vermin or foreign object in the product.
(c)to damage arising during transportation, installation or while moving the
product, or to any transportation costs of the product or any parts thereof to
and from the owner, unless otherwise specied in this Warranty.
(d) to any third-party software or hardware not contained in the product as
originally congured by the manufacturer.
(e) to any failure, to the extent that the failure is not a failure of the product to
perform in accordance with its specications.
