Every person involved with installation and maintenance of this device have to:

Thisdevice has leftour premises in absolutely perfect condition. Inorder to maintainthis condition and toensure
asafe operation, itis absolutely necessary for the user tofollow the safetyinstructions and warning noteswritten
in this manual.
Important:
Themanufacturer willnot acceptliability for anyresulting damagescaused by thenon-observance ofthis manual
or any unauthorized modification to the device.
Please consider that damages caused by manual modifications to the device are not subject to warranty.
Neverlet thepower-cord comeinto contact withother cables!Handle thepower-cord and allconnections withthe
mains with particular caution!
Make sure that the available voltage is not higher than stated on the rear panel.
Always plug in the power plug least. Make sure that the power-switch is set to OFF-position before you connect
the device to the mains.The power-plug has to be accessable after installing the device.
Make sure that the power-cord is never crimped or damaged by sharp edges. Check the device and the power-
cord from time to time.
Alwaysdisconnect fromthe mains,when thedevice isnot inuse orbefore cleaningit. Onlyhandle thepower-cord
by the plug. Never pull out the plug by tugging the power-cord.
This device falls under protection class I.Therefore it is essential to connect the yellow/green conductor to earth.
The electric connection, repairs and servicing must be carried out by a qualified employee.
Do not connect this device to a dimmer pack.
Do not switch the fixture on and off in short intervals as this would reduce the lamp’s life.
During the initial start-up some smoke or smell may arise.This is a normal process and does not necessarily
mean that the device is defective.
Donot touch the device’s housing bare handsduringits operation (housingbecomes hot)!
For replacement use lamps and fuses of same type and rating only.

2.Operating determinations
This device is a moving-head spot for creating decorative effects and was designed for indoor use only.
If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g.after transportation), do not switch it on
immediately.Thearising condensationwater might damage yourdevice.Leavethe deviceswitchedoffuntilit has
reachedroomtemperature.
Never run the device without lamp!
Do not shake the device.Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.
Never lift the fixture by holding it at the projector-head, as the mechanics may be damaged. Always hold the
fixture at the transport handles.
Whenchoosing the installation-spot, pleasemake sure that the deviceis not exposed to extreme heat, moisture
or dust.There should not be any cables lying around.You endanger your own and the safety of others!
The minimum distance between light-output and the illuminated surface must be more than 2 meters.
Make sure that the area below the installation place is blocked when rigging, derigging or servicing the fixture.
Always fix the fixture with an appropriate safety-rope.Fix the safety-rope at the correct holes only.
Onlyoperate the fixtureafter having checked that the housing isfirmly closed andall screws are tightlyfastened.
The lamp must never be ignited if the objective-lens or any housing-cover is open, as discharge lamps may
explose and emit a high ultraviolet radiation, which may cause burns.
Themaximum ambient temperature t

= 40° C mustnever be exceeded. Otherwise,the lamp is switchedoff and
the fixture is out of operation for 5 minutes.
CAUTION!
Thelens hasto bereplacedwhen itis obviouslydamaged,
sothat itsfunction is impaired,e. g.due to cracksor deepscratches!
Operate the device only after having familiarized with its functions. Do not permit operation by persons not
qualifiedfor operating the device.Most damages are theresult of unprofessional operation!

ordeformed due to theheat!
Please use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
Please consider that unauthorized modifications on the device are forbidden due to safety reasons!
If this device will be operated in any way different to the one described in this manual, the product may suffer
damages and the guarantee becomes void. Furthermore, any other operation may lead to dangers like short-
circuit, burns, electric shock, burns due to ultraviolet radiation, lamp explosion, crash etc.

4. Installation
4.1Fitting the lamp
DANGER!
Installthe lampswith the deviceswitchedoff only.
Unplugfrom mainsbefore !
To insertthe lampMSR 575/295V/575W GX-9,5 loosen thelamp coveratthe rear ofhead (seethe drawings) by
remowing the 3 fastening screws which are marked "X,Y,Z".Carefully pull out the cover with the lamp socket
assembly.If changing the lamp, remove the old lamp from the socket.Insert the lamp to the socket.
Do not install a lamp with a higher wattage! A lamp like this generates temperatures the device is not de-
signed for.Damages caused by non-observance are not subject to warranty.Please follow the lamp
manufacturer‘s notes!Do not touch the glass-bulb with bare hands during the installation! Make sure that the
lamp is installed tightly into the lampholder system.
Reclose the lamp cover and tighten the 3 screws.
Beforestriking the lamp, reset the"LAti"and "LASt" counter sin the menu ofthe Control Board,by pressingthe
"Up" and"Down" buttons in one time and then confirmingwith the Enter-button.
Donot operate thisfixture withopenedhousing-cover!

4.2 Lamp adjustment
The SPOT 575 XT lampholder is aligned at the factory.Due to differences between lamps, fine adjustment may
improvelight performance.
Strike the lamp,open the shutter and the iris,set the dimmer intensity onto 100% and focus the light on a flat
surface(wall).Center a hot-spot(the brightest part of the image) by using the 3 adjustment screws "A,B,C".Turn
onescrewafteranother aquarter-turnclokwise(counter-clokwise) toset the hot-spotin the centerof the image.If
you cannot detect the hot-spot,adjust the lamp until the light is evenly distributed.
4.3 Inserting/Exchanging gobos
DANGER!
Installthe goboswith the deviceswitchedoff only.
Unplugfrommainsbefore!
Ifyou wish touse other forms andpatterns as the standard-gobos,or if gobos areto be exchanged,open the top
cover of the head by loosening 2 screws on the top cover.
Remove the fixation ring with an appropriate tool.Remove the gobo and insert the new gobo.Press the fixation
ring together and insert it in the front of the gobo.
CAUTION!
Neverunscrew thescrews ofthe rotatinggobo
asthe ballbearing willotherwise beopened!

4.4 Rigging the fixture
Dangerof fire !
Wheninstalling thedevice, makesure thereis nohighly inflammable
material(decoration articles,etc.) inbetween a distanceof min. 0,7m.
Warning ! Use 2 clampsto rig thefixture on the truss.
Followthe instructionsmentionedat thebottom ofthebase.
Makesure that thedevice isfixedproperly! Ensurethat
thestructure (truss) towhich you areattaching the fixturesis secure.
TheSPOT575XT canbeplaced directlyon thestage
floor or rigged in any orientation on a truss without
alteringitsoperationcharacteristics (seethedrawing).
Thefixture’sbaseenablestobe mountedintwoways.
Use the clamps with screws M12.
Fixamountingplateandaneyebolt(a partofdelivery)
onthe undersideof thebase(see the drawing below).
Fasten a safety chain to eye bolt.The safety
chain(cord) must hold at least 10 times the weight of
the fixture. Never use the carrying handles for
secondaryattachment.

4.5 Connection to the mains
Verifythe powersupplysettingsbeforeapplyingpower!
If you wish to change the power supply settings,see the chapter Appendix.
Connect the fixture to the mains with the enclosed power cable and plug.
The earth has to be connected!
The occupation of the connection-cables is as follows:

4.6 DMX-512 connection/connection between fixtures
Only use a stereo shielded cable and 3-pin XLR-plugs and connectors in order to connect the controller with the
fixture or one fixture with another.
Occupation of the XLR-connection:

If youare using thestandard DMX-controllers, you canconnect theDMX-output of thecontroller directlywith the
DMX-input of the first fixture in the DMX-chain. If you wish to connect DMX-controllers with other XLR-outputs,
youneed to useadapter-cables.
Building a serial DMX-chain:
Connect the DMX-output of the first fixture in the DMX-chain with the DMX-input of the next fixture. Always
connect one output with the input of the next fixture until all fixtures are connected.
Caution: At the last fixture, the DMX-cable has to be terminated with a terminator. Solder a 120 Wresistor
between Signal (–) and Signal (+) into a 3-pin XLR-plug and plug it in the DMX-output of the last fixture.
