15) The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as
the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall
remain readily operable.
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
SAFETY WARNINGS FOR BATTERY
PACK
a) Do not dismantle, open or shred cells or battery
pack.
b) Do not short-circuit a battery pack. Do not store
battery packs haphazardly in a box or drawer
where they may short-circuit each other or be
short-circuited by conductive materials. When
battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other
metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metal objects, that can
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause
burns or a re.
c) Do not expose battery pack to heat or re. Avoid
storage in direct sunlight.
d) Do not subject battery pack to mechanical shock.
e) In the event of battery leaking, do not allow the
liquid to come into contact with the skin or eyes.
If contact has been made, wash the affected area
with copious amounts of water and seek medical
advice.
f) Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or
battery pack has been swallowed.
g) Keep battery pack clean and dry.
h) Wipe the battery pack terminals with a clean dry
cloth if they become dirty.
i) Battery pack needs to be charged before use.
Always refer to this instruction and use the correct
charging procedure.
j) Do not maintain battery pack on charge when not
in use.
k) After extended periods of storage, it may
be necessary to charge and discharge the
battery pack several times to obtain maximum
performance.
l) Battery pack gives its best performance when it is
operated at normal room temperature (20 °C ± 5 °C).
m) When disposing of battery packs, keep battery
packs of different electrochemical systems
separate from each other.
n) Recharge only with the charger specied by
POSITEC. Do not use any charger other than that
specically provided for use with the equipment.
A charger that is suitable for one type of battery
pack may create a risk of re when used with
another battery pack.
o) Do not use any battery pack which is not designed
for use with the equipment.
p) Keep battery pack out of the reach of children.
q) Retain the original product literature for future
reference.
r) Remove the battery from the equipment when not
in use.
s) Dispose of properly.
t) Do not mix cells of different manufacture, capacity,
size or type within a device.
u) Do not remove battery pack from its original
packaging until required for use.
v) Observe the plus (+) and minus (–) marks on the
battery and ensure correct use.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR BATTERY
CHARGER
1. Before charging, read the instructions.
2. For charge Li-Ion battery pack only.
3. Do not charge a leaking battery.
4. Do not use chargers for works other than those for
which they are designed.
5. Before charging, ensure your charger is matching
the local AC supply.
6. The charging device must be protected from
moisture.
7. Do not use the charging device in the open.
8. Do not short out the contacts of battery or charger.
9. Respect the polarity “+/-“ when charging.
10. Do not open the unit and keep out of the reach of
children.
11. Do not charge the batteries of other manufactures
or ill-suited models.
12. Ensure that the connection between the battery
charger and battery is correctly positioned and is
not obstructed by foreign bodies.
13. Keep battery charger’s slots are free of foreign
objects and protect against dirt and humidity.
Store in a dry and frost-free place.
14. When charging batteries, ensure that the battery
charger is in a well-ventilated area and away
from inammable materials. Batteries can get hot
during charging. Do not overcharge any batteries.
Ensure that batteries and chargers are not left
unsupervised during charging.
15. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as
they can overheat and break.
16. Longer life and better performance can be
obtained if the battery pack is charged when the
air temperature is between 18oC and 24oC. Do not
charge the battery pack in air temperatures below
4.5oC, or above 40.5oC. This is important as it can
prevent serious damage to the battery pack.
17. Charge only battery pack of the same
model provided by POSITEC and of models
recommended by POSITEC

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Before using the tool, read the instruction
book carefully.
BEFORE PUTTING INTO OPERATION
WARNING! The charger and battery pack are
specially designed to work together so do not
attempt to use any other devices. Never insert or
allow metallic objects into your charger or battery
pack connections because of an electrical failure and
hazard will occur.
1. CHARGING YOUR BATTERY PACK
1) Do not use any charger other than that specically
provided for use with the equipment.
2) If the battery pack is very hot you must remove
your battery pack from the charger and allow time for
the battery to cool down before recharging.
3) Please charge the battery to reach full before
storage. If the tool will not be used for long periods of
time, charge the battery every 3 months.
CHARGING PROCEDURE (SEE FIG. A1-A3)
1) Plug the charger into an appropriate outlet. The light
will be green.
2) Slide the battery pack into the charger, make sure
the battery is in the correct charge position rmly. the
light will turn to red to indicate the charging process
has started.
3) When charging is completed, the light will turn to
green.
4) After fully charged, unplug the charger and remove
the battery pack.
NOTE: If the battery pack is locked in the charger, press
the battery pack release button and remove it
WARNING! When battery charge runs out
after continuously use or exposure to direct
sunlight or heat, allow time for the tool to cool down
before re-charging to achieve the full charge.

2. TO REMOVE OR INSTALL BATTERY PACK (SEE FIG. B1,
B2)
Depress the Battery Pack Release Button to remove
the Battery Pack from your tool. After recharging,
insert the Battery Pack into the battery port. A simple
push and slight pressure will be sufcient until a click
is heard. Check to see if the battery is fully secured.
NOTE: When removing the battery pack, hold it rmly to
avoid dropping and injury.
3. USING AC POWER ADAPTER (SEE FIG. C)
If not using battery pack, you can also use the AC
power adapter for this radio. Insert the AC power
adapter into the AC power port in front of the radio,
and then plug the adapter into an appropriate outlet.
4. BATTERY POWER FOR CLOCK (See Fig. D1, D2)
Open the battery apartment cover and insert 2 AAA
batteries in the apartment. The AAA batteries are only
for radio clock time display.
NOTE: When there is only AAA batteries powered (with
no battery pack or AC power plugged in), the radio will
not work. The LCD screen will only display clock time
if you press the on/off switch.
OPERATION
1. SWITCH ON/OFF (See Fig. E)
Press the on/off switch (a) on the control panel to turn
on the radio, the LCD screen will light up for about 8s
then light off. Press it again to turn off.
NOTE: This radio will switched off automatically
when battery power is low. After the radio turned off

automatically, you should insert a new battery pack or
plug into an outlet, and press the on/off switch twice to
turn it on again.
2. SETTING THE CLOCK (See Fig. F1-F3)
Insert the AAA batteries in battery apartment.
Turn off the radio, press and hold down the SOURCE
button for seconds to enter the clock setting mode.
The time displayed on LCD screen will ash.
Press the HOUR button to adjust the hour time.
Press the MINUTES button to adjust the minute.
Finally, press SOURCE button to validate and
complete the setting of the clock.
3. MODE SELECTION (See Fig. G)
Turn on the radio, press the SOURCE button to
choose a desired mode functions (FM, AM or AUX).
NOTE:
•AUX mode can only be selected when AUX cord is
inserted into the radio.
• No matter what the mode (FM/AM) the radio is on, it
will enter into AUX mode automatically when the AUX
cord is inserted in. The radio will turn back to former
FM/AM mode when the AUX cord is pulled out.
4. AUTO SCAN FOR BROADCAST STATIONS (See Fig. H)
Turn on the radio and choose FM or AM mode. Press
and hold down the AUTO MEMORY button for
seconds to perform an auto scan for the broadcast
stations, release the button. The radio will search and
store the broadcast stations successively. When all
10 broadcast stations are stored, the radio will stop
searching and play the station it scanned rstly. Press
the VOLUME/SET TIME buttons to adjust the
volume.
5. MANUALLY SCAN FOR BROADCAST STATIONS (See
Fig. I)
Turn on the radio and choose FM or AM mode.
Step scanning:
1) Press the SEEK/CHANNEL MEMORY buttons
to search a broadcast station. Press either
PREV or NEXT buttons to forward or backward by each
step (0.5 MHz). If one broadcast station is searched,
the radio will play it at the same time.
2) Press and hold down the CHANNEL/MEMORY
button to store the station searched. The LCD
screen will display “MEM + X“ (X represents 0-9).
Press the SEEK/CHANNEL MEMORY buttons
to choose a number for station storage.
Quick scanning:
1) Press and hold down the SEEK/CHANNEL
MEMORY buttons (either PREV or NEXT) for
seconds to search a broadcast station automatically,
release the buttons. The radio will search the station
rapidly, and stop to play when one broadcast station is
searched.
2) Press and hold down the CHANNEL/MEMORY
button to store the station searched. The LCD
screen will display “MEM + X“ (X represents 0-9).
Press the SEEK/CHANNEL MEMORY buttons to
choose a number for station storage.
6. USING THE RADIO (See Fig. J, K)
FM/AM mode
Turn on the radio and choose FM/AM mode. Press
the CHANNEL/MEMORY button to listen to the
broadcast stations stored.
AUX mode (See Fig. J)
You can connect your external audio device (cell
phone, MP3 player, CD player or other audio device)
to the radio by using AUX cord provided via AUX port.
Insert an AUX cord into the AUX port on the radio and
the radio will automatically enter into AUX mode.
Adjusting the volume
Press the VOLUME buttons to adjust the
volume. The volume can be adjusted from 0 to 16. The
volume will display on the LCD screen.
Mute
Press the MUTE button to mute. Press again to
resotre.
NOTE: Press any button will light up the LCD screen for
8 seconds.
7. USB POWER OUTLET (See Fig. M)
The USB port can be used to charge a cell phone.
Charging will occur when the radio is plugged into an
outlet or running by a battery pack.
NOTE: When USB charging, AM mode is automatically
shielded, only FM and AUX can be selected. But FM
will be affected much, so it is recommended that not
using FM/AM mode when USB charging.
