Roland TD-6SX Assembly instructions

Mesh Pads:
Although the TD-6SX features mesh V-pads for the snare (PD-105) and toms (PD-85 x 3), only the Snare input
of the TD-6V Percussion Module has dual trigger capabilities for mesh V-Pads.
In other words, rim triggering is not supported on MESH V-pads when connected to any of the tom inputs on
the TD-6V Percussion Module.
Note: When performing a factory reset on the TD-6V, the snare input pad type defaults to PD-80R which will
work for the PD-105. The tom inputs default to pad type PD-8. Changing the tom pad type to PD-80R may in-
crease sensitivity of the mesh head pad, but will not support independent rim triggering from mesh head tom
pads.
CY-12R/C-C V-Cymbal:
The TD-6V does not support 3-way triggering with the CY-12R/C-C. However there are two ways to use
the CY-12R/C with the TD-6V module:
1. This method uses Factory settings on the TD-6V:
•Connect one end of the cable labeled “RD” to the Bow/Edge jack of the CY-12R/C. This is the jack
closest to the player (opposite the top Roland logo) on the CY-12R/C-C.
Bow/Edge
Ride Input
•Connect the other end of the cable
labeled “RD” to the Ride Trigger input
on the rear of the TD-6V Percussion
Module.

Edge area
Bow area
•A ride sound will be produced when playing
the bow area at a normal level.
•By striking the bow area harder, a bell sound
will be produced.
•A different sound is produced by striking
the edge area.
2. This method uses ‘modified’ kits for the TD-6V.
•These kits are contained in the MIDI file TD6SX_CY12RC.mid which is included in this download pack-
age. You will need to transfer this file via MIDI into the TD-6V.
•If you prefer to program your own kits, refer to step #3 (on page 3).
•Connect one end of the cable labeled “RD” to the Bow/Bell jack of the CY-12R/C. This is the jack furthest
from the player (closer to the top Roland logo) on the CY-12R/C-C.
Bow/Bell Jack
•Connect the other end of the cable labeled
“RD” to the Ride Trigger input on the rear of
the TD-6V Percussion Module.

•Press [EDIT] (KIT & EDIT buttons light).
•Press ENTER (The instrument (INST) selection screen appears).
•Strike the Bow area of the CY-12R/C, (display indicates trigger input H11, and the currently assigned
sound).
•Use the [+] or [-] buttons to select the desired ride cymbal sound.*
•Strike the Bell or Edge area of the CY-12R/C,(display indicates trigger input R11,and the currently
assigned sound).
•Use the [+] or [-] buttons to select the desired ride cymbal sound. *
*Key: Rd = Bow Ride Cymbal Sound Rde = Edge Ride Cymbal Sound
Rdb = Bell Ride Cymbal Sound Rdx = Bow/Bell ‘Cross-faded’ Cymbal Sound
Please refer to the TD-6V Owner’s Manual for more detailed editing instructions.
