1. Introduction
This manual aims to help you get the latest software programs for your keyboards.
The update process includes two major steps:
1. Install the update tool to your PC.
2. Update your instrument with the tool.
ITEMS TO PREPARE FOR THE UPDATE
Following items are required to perform the update.
1. GO:PIANO88 itself
2. PC to send the updater to the instrument
3. USB Standard Cable
4. Roland Comm Firmware Update Setup V2.9.3 (Please download from Roland official website)
5. GO-88P_V130.DAT file (Please download from Roland official website)
2. Install the Roland Comm Firmware Update
2.1Preparation
⚫Make sure your PC has the operating system Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
⚫Disengage the anti-virus programs or security software on PC if there is any.
⚫If you have installed the update tool, you may skip the following steps and go to Firmware Update.
2.2Double click the setup icon.

2.3Click “Yes”, “Next >” to continue.

2.4Click “Install” to start the installation.

2.5Click “Next” to install the device driver.

Note: If the device driver is not installed or is not properly installed,
please refer to 《GO PIANO88 Driver Installation Instructions (Manually)》, install manually the
device driver.
2.6Click “Finish” to complete the installation.

2.7Installation is finished. You will find the Firmware update icon on
the desktop.
3. Firmware Update
3.1 Double click the Roland Comm Firmware update icon on PC
desktop.
⚫The Firmware Update window will pop up. Make sure you get the message below before proceeding.

3.2 Open the update file
The pictures below show the update progress of a keyboard of GO:PIANO88.
⚫Click the explorer which is showed by red box in the picture below.
⚫Open the update file “GO-88P_V130.DAT”.
⚫Check the product model and software version.
⚫Now the Roland Comm Firmware Update tool is ready.

3.3 Preparation of GO:PIANO88
⚫Connect your instrument to a PC with a standard USB cable.
Note: Never connect the PC with more than one instrument for each update.
⚫Make sure the power supply is reliable for the update, and please don’t execute by battery power.
3.4 Enter the Update Mode
⚫Boot up your GO:PIANO88 by Update Mode.
Take the keyboard GO:PIANO88, press and hold “#1+#2+#3+#4”([A0] + [A#0] + [B0] + [C1]) keys together and
turn on the power, it will enter the update mode.

⚫When update mode, LEDs turn on of the instruments as below picture shows.
3.5 Click “↓Update” to start.
Note: Do not disconnect the power supply or turn off the instrument during the update!
Note: The progress bar may repeat several times (7 minutes) before the update is finished.

3.6 Finish the update.
⚫Click “OK” to finish the update if you get the message “update successful”.
The update is completed now.
Note: If you fail to get the above message, please try again:
⚫Check the USB connection or try with another USB cable.
⚫Try with another USB port on PC.
⚫Double click the update icon to start the process again.

4. Bluetooth Firmware Update
4.1 Preparation
⚫When online update is finished, disconnect the USB cable. Turn off the power.
4.2 Enter the Update Mode
⚫Press and hold the keys “#1+#2+#3+#7” ([A0] + [A#0] + [B0] + [D#1]) and turn on the power again. It will
enter Bluetooth Module Online Update Mode.
⚫The panel LEDs will flash (The update process will take about 50 seconds).
4.3 Finish the update.
When the LEDs stay lit, it indicates Bluetooth Module Update is finished. Please re-boot the device.
Note:
⚫Close the update tool and restart your instrument, it will operate with the latest programs.
