9. Starting Up
Decide on the weight required according to user need.
Install the weights carefully.
Place on the user’s lap.
Re-assess and adjust the weight if necessary, ensuring that it is comfortable for the
user.
This product can be used either way up i.e. is reversible.
10. Detailed Description
Each pad holds 4 separate weight strips (included). Weights are safely secured at
both ends so pad can be reversed. We recommend a suggested starting point as
being using weights totalling a maximum of 2.5% of the client’s total bodyweight
(this would be less for a small child).
11. Safety
ALWAYS SUPERVISE THE USE OF THESE PRODUCTS
Please ensure that SI equipment is used following risk assessment in a controlled
manner and under close professional supervision.
Use weight that is appropriate and comfortable for the client.
Ensure that the “puller” is put away safely, out of the reach of service users.
All items should be carefully and regularly checked for wear and tear.
Discontinue use if any item is damaged and is assessed to present risk to the user.
Remove all packaging and either store this in a safe place out of reach of clients or
dispose of this responsibly. Plastic bags and wrapping can be hazardous to
children and vulnerable people.
Make sure all Velcro® is fastened properly and is secure and tight before use.
Keep all items away from sources of heat and fire.
Do not allow the user to chew the weighted lap pad.

13. Installation
1. Open the Velcro® at the ends of the four strips.
2. Use the long metal hook to put the weights into the strips. Place the metal loop of
the weight (one at each end) around the hook and carefully pull the weight into the
channel whilst placing your finger over the Velcro to stop the weight from snagging
on it.
You may use one, two, three of the strips or all of them at once. Each strip is
identical. This allows you to vary the amount of weight according to each client.
As a suggested guideline, it is recommended that the use of weights totalling a
maximum of 5% of the client’s total body weight. However, since all the weight is on
the client’s legs, a suggested starting point would be a maximum of 2.5% of the
weight of the client. This should be less for small children (not of school age).
Begin with the smallest amount of weight possible, and increase this gradually,
according to need and desired result. Please note –these are guidelines only, not
definitive rules for use.
Use this product appropriately and in accordance with the needs, comfort and
safety requirements of your client. Each client responds differently to weight –
some respond to more, others to less.
3. Make sure that the Velcro® is closed before use.
4. If desired, the weights may be used separately as individual therapy tools.
5. To remove the weight strips pull them out by lifting up and away from the
Velcro®.

14. Care and Maintenance
Remove all weights from the channels.
Secure all Velcro® firmly.
The Lap Pad is machine washable on a warm setting using mild detergent.
Air dry before use or tumble dry on a low setting.
Organise a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule.
Should any wear be found, discontinue use and replace worn parts immediately.
Store in a safe place out of direct sunlight when not in use.
Store out of reach of clients –do not allow unsupervised use.
Do not use harsh, abrasive solvent or bleach cleaning products.
Check for loose stitching or ripped seams. If found, discontinue use till repaired.
Check the Velcro® to make sure this is firmly attached. Repair if required.
The weights may be wiped with a damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the weights in
water.

solidement attachées des 2 côtés, de façon à ce que le coussin puisse être utilisé des

13. Installation
1. Ouvrez le Velcro® aux bouts des rainures.
2. Servez-vous du long crochet pour introduire les bandes dans les rainures. Placez la
boucle en métal d’une bande (il y a une boucle à chaque bout) au crochet et avec
soin, tirez la bande dans la rainure. Votre doigt est sur le Velcro pour éviter des
accrocs.
On peut se servir d’une, deux, trois ou toutes les bandes à la fois. Chaque bande est
la même. De cette façon on peut changer le poids du coussin selon le client.
Comme guide, le fabricant recommande que le poids des bandes soit un maximum
de 5% du poids totale du client. Cependant, tout le poids est sur les genoux du
client. Par conséquent, on conseille qu’on commence avec un poids maximum de
2,5% du poids du client. Ce poids est moins pour les petits enfants.
Commencez avec un poids tout petit et augmentez le poids peu à peu, selon votre
client. Prière de noter –ces conseils ne sont qu’un guide.
Servez-vous de ce produit de façon convenable et selon les besoins, le confort et les
exigences de votre client. Chaque personne répond de façon différente au poids –
certains nécessitent plus de poids ; des autres nécessitent moins.
3. Vérifiez que le Velcro est fermé avant de l’usage.
4. Si on veut, on peut se servir des bandes sans le coussin.
5. Pour enlever les bandes, tirez-les hors du Velcro®
14. Soin et Entretien
Enlevez toutes les bandes.
Fermez le Velcro® avant de laver le coussin.
Ce produit est lavable à machine au réglage tiède.
On peut sécher ce produit à l’air ou à machine, au réglage frais.
Entreposez ce produit dans un lieu sûr, hors du soleil, et hors de la portée des
clients.
On peut essuyer les bandes en vous servant d’un torchon légèrement humecté – ne
jamais immerger les bandes.

Método não invasivo de proporcionar auto-resposta e estabilidade para utentes
sentados. Cada faixa tem até 4 tiras separadas de pesos (incluídas). Os pesos são
fixos com segurança em ambas as extremidades e assim a almofada pode ser
invertida. Inclui 454g de pesos.

13. Instalação
1. Abra o velcro nas pontas das quatro faixas.
2. Utilize o gancho metálico para colocar os pesos dentro das faixas. Coloque o
laço metálico do peso (um em cada) à volta do gancho e o peso para dentro
do canal ao mesmo tempo que coloca o dedo sobre o velcro para impedir
que o peso fique agarrado.
Pode utilizar uma, duas, três ou todas as faixas ao mesmo tempo. As faixas são todas
idênticas. Isto permite-lhe variar a quantidade de peso de acordo com cada cliente.
Como linha de orientação, é recomendado que a utilização de pesos no total de 5%
do peso corporal do cliente. No entanto, uma vez que todo o peso está concentrado
nas pernas do cliente, um ponto inicial sugerido é de 2.5% do peso do cliente. Isto
deve ser menos para crianças pequenas (sem idade escolar).

Comece com a menor quantidade possível e aumente gradualmente, de acordo com
as necessidades e resultados desejados. Nota –estas são apenas sugestões, não são
regras de utilização.
Utilize este produto de forma apropriada e de acordo com as necessidades,
conforto e requisitos de segurança do seu cliente. Cada cliente responde de forma
diferente ao peso –alguns respondem a mais, outros respondem a menos.
3. Verifique se o velcro está fechado antes de utilizar.
4. Caso deseje, os pesos podem ser utilizados separadamente como
ferramentas de terapia individuais. 5. Para remover as faixas de pesos, puxe-as para
cima, afastando-as do Velcro®.
14. Cuidado e Manutenção
1. Remova todos os pesos e feche o Velcro® antes de lavar.
2. Lavável na máquina com água morna.
3. Deixe secar ao natural ou seque na máquina com uma temperatura baixa
