Rotoclear C2 ist ein Kamera-System zur Prozessüber-
wachung in medienbeaufschlagten Bereichen. Es kann
in Werkzeugmaschinen zur Überwachung des Arbeits-
raumes oder des Werkzeuges an der Spindel zum Einsatz
kommen. Das System besteht aus einem oder zwei
Kameramodulen und einem Steuerrechner.
Bewahren Sie diese Betriebsanleitung am Einsatzort des
Gerätes sorgfältig auf. Die Betriebsanleitung unterliegt
dem Urheberrecht der Rotoclear GmbH.

Thank you for purchasing our product. Please pay
attention to the text and images in this manual in order to
use the product correctly. Prior to startup, be sure to read
the installation instructions.
Rotoclear C2 is a camera system for process monitoring
in areas exposed to media. It can be employed in machine
tools for the monitoring of the working area or the tool on
the spindle. The system consists of one or two camera
modules and a control unit.
Keep this user manual securely stored at the operating
location of the equipment. This user manual is protected

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung des RotoclearC2
erstreckt sich auf die Anwendung in Werkzeugmaschinen
oder entsprechenden Umgebungen, in denen Medien wie
Kühlschmierstoe, Öle, Wasser, Spül- und Reinigungs-
üssigkeiten eingesetzt werden. Bei der Verwendung
einer Kamera in einer solchen Umgebung wird die Sicht
durch Auftreen der vorhandenen Medien auf Linse oder
Schutzscheibe beeinträchtigt oder behindert. Daher
ist das Rotoclear C2 mit einer rotierenden Sichtscheibe
ausgestattet, um eine freie Sicht durch die Scheibe zu
gewährleisten. Auftreende Partikel oder Flüssigkeiten
werden kontinuierlich nach außen weggeschleudert. Dies
setzt voraus, dass die Kamera dauerhaft in Betrieb ist,
die Sperrluft anliegt, sowie die Rotorscheibe sich für die
selbstreinigende Wirkung permanent dreht, während die
Maschine eingeschaltet ist. Der Kühlschmierstostrahl
darf nicht direkt und gezielt auf das Durchsichtfenster
gerichtet sein.
Datenschutzhinweis
Je nach Konguration und Einbindung der Kamera
in ein Firmennetzwerk kann über verschiedene Protokolle
mittels IP-Adresse ein Zugri auf den Stream der Kamera
erfolgen. Eine Einsicht in den Kameraaufnahmebereich
kann somit gegeben sein. Hierbei ist es möglich, dass
Personal oder Dienstleistende zum Beispiel bei Wartungs-
arbeiten beobachtet werden können.
Je nach Gesetzeslage des Landes, in dem das Kamera-
system betrieben wird, können datenschutzrechtliche
Belange berührt werden.
Bitte prüfen Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme der
Kamera, ob entsprechende Maßnahmen bezüglich des
Datenschutzes einzuleiten sind.

Der Steuerrechner wird typischerweise im Schaltschrank
oder in einem geschützten, für elektronische Geräte

equipment. Any modication of the equipment and/or

Intended use
The intended use of the RotoclearC2 includes applications
in machine tools and similar environments, where media
such as cooling lubricants, oils, water, rinsing and cleaning

window. That is why the Rotoclear C2 is equipped with a
rotating window in order to ensure a clear view
through the window.

Data protection notice
Depending on how the camera is congured and
integrated into a company network, various protocols
can be used to access the camera stream by means of
IP addresses. This means that it may be possible to view
the area that the camera is recording. This may mean that
sta or service providers could be observed, for example
during maintenance work.
Depending on the laws of the country in which the camera
system is being operated, this may touch on aspects
related to data protection.
Before putting the camera into operation, please
verify whether any corresponding measures related to
data protection need to be taken.
Components
Control unit
The control unit is typically installed in the control cabinet
or in a protected area meant for electronic devices,

zum Anschluss eines HDMI-Monitors (C) und vier USB-
Steckplätzen ausgestattet. Der USB-Steckplatz (D2) ist
für den Anschluss eines Speichermediums vorgesehen,
da hier die volle Bandbreite zur Verfügung steht, sowie
drei weitere Steckplätze mit geteilter Bandbreite (D1) für
Zubehör.
Ebenfalls ist eine Ethernetschnittstelle (E) vorhanden.
Auf der Rückseite des Steuerrechners ist ein Clip für die
Hutschienenmontage vorhanden.
Kameramodul
Die Kameramodule werden üblicherweise im
medienbeaufschlagten Bereich installiert. Liegt die Rück-
seite der Kamera mit den Anschlüssen möglicherweise
ebenfalls im Nassbereich, beachten Sie unbedingt den
Hinweis unter „Inbetriebnahme“.
Wie in Abbildung 2 dargestellt, erfolgt der Anschluss
über die Schnittstelle zum Steuerrechner auf der Rück-
seite der Kamera (A). Das Kabel (A1) versorgt das Modul
mit Energie und ist für Steuersignale sowie Datenüber-
tragung mit sehr hoher Bandbreite ausgelegt. Achten Sie
daher beim Verlegen der Kabel, dass keine Störsignale
wie z.B. durch parallel verlegte, wechselstromführende
und unzureichend geschirmte Stromkabel eingebracht
werden. (H) kennzeichnet den Anschluss für eine Erdung.
Beachten Sie unbedingt den Hinweis unter „Inbetrieb-
nahme“.

1 zu sehen, mit einem Anschluss zur Stromversorgung
und einer dazugehörigen blauen Signalleuchte für das

stellen für die Kameramodule (B1 und B2), einem Ausgang

Camera module
The camera modules are usually installed in the
application area. In assembly situations where the camera
head‘s connection side on its rear is unprotected and
exposed to uids, it will be necessary to refer to chapter
„Startup“.
As shown in Figure 2, the connection takes place via the
interface to the control unit on the rear of the camera
(A). The cable (A1) supplies the module with energy and
is designed for control signals as well as data transfer
with very high bandwidth. Hence, when laying the cables,
ensure that no interfering signals are introduced, e.g. due
to power cables that are laid in parallel, carrying alternating
current and insuciently shielded. The camera head has a
ground connection point (H). For the ground connection, it
will be necessary to refer to the chapter „Startup“.

and hence does not have a particular protection class.
As shown in Figure 1, the unit is equipped with a power
connection (A) with a blue signal light arranged below
showing the status of the power supply, two interfaces for
the camera modules (B1 and B2), an output for connecting
an HDMI monitor (C) and four USB ports. The USB port

Bei falscher Einstellung, Verunreinigung der Sperr-
luft oder bei Beschädigung der rotierenden Scheibe
kann Flüssigkeit den Bereich zwischen Rotor und Stator
verunreinigen und die Sicht der Kamera behindern mit der
Folge, dass Gewährleistungsansprüche verfallen.
Im Lieferumfang bendet sich eine Abdeckkappe,
mit der die Front des Kamerakopfes im Schadensfall
temporär abgedeckt werden muss, sofern die Maschine
bis zur Instandsetzung in Betrieb genommen werden soll.
Deaktivieren Sie bei Verwendung der Schutzkappe die
Sperrluft.
Auf der Vorderseite bendet sich der Rotor (C), der mit
der Zentrumsschraube (G) an der Motorwelle befestigt
ist, darunterliegend die LED-Beleuchtung (D). Zwischen
den LED-Modulen bendet sich, durch die Schutzscheibe
geschützt, das Objektiv der Kamera (E).
Gegenüberliegend kann je nach Modell und Ausstattungs-
variante ein weiteres Objektiv verbaut sein. Durch die
Bohrung (F) wird die Sperrluft in den Rotorzwischenraum
geführt. Diese Bohrung muss freiliegend sein und darf
weder abgedeckt noch anderweitig verschlossen sein.
Das Gerät darf nicht dauerhaft vollständig oder teilweise
unter Wasser oder Kühlschmiersto betrieben werden.
Sollte Flüssigkeit in das Gerät eindringen, überprüfen Sie
bitte die Installationsparameter.
Verwenden Sie Rotoclear C2 ausschließlich
bestimmungsgemäß. Rotoclear übernimmt keinerlei
Haftung bei einer anderen, als der bestimmungsgemäßen
Verwendung.
Lieferumfang
Das Kameramodul ist auf eine denierte Fokuslage vorein-
gestellt. Es sind Fokuslagen für den Nahbereich bzw. die
Spindel mit Schärfebereich von 200-500mm, sowie für
den Fernbereich von 500-3000mm verfügbar.

cover is kept free of the media in the environment.
The purge air cable (B1) has a diameter of 6mm.
In the event of incorrect conguration,
contamination of the purge air, or if the rotating window
is damaged, liquid might contaminate the area between
rotor and stator and obscure the camera‘s view and will
invalidate the warranty.
Included in the scope of delivery is a covering cap.
Use it to cover the front of the camera head temporarily
in the event of damage if the machine is to be put into
operation before it is repaired. When the covering cap is in
use, deactivate the purge air.
The rotor (C) is on the front, which is axed via a centre
screw (G) to the motor shaft, under which the LED lighting
(D) is located. Located between the LED modules is the
camera lens (E), which is protected by the protective
window.
On the opposite side, a second lens may be installed
depending on the model and conguration variant. The
purge air is fed through the drill hole (F) into the intervening
rotor space. This drill hole must be kept free and must not
be covered or closed in any way.
The device must not be operated constantly under water
or cooling lubricant, neither completely nor partially. If
liquid enters the device, please check the installation para-
meters.
Use RotoclearC2 only as intended. Rotoclear shall
not be liable for any use that is not as intended.
Scope of supply
The camera module is precongured to a dened focus
position. Focus positions for close ranges and/or spindles
with a focus range of 200-500 mm are available, as well as
for far ranges from 500-3000 mm.

Vorbereitung der Teile
Entnehmen Sie die Kamera der Verpackung. Achten
Sie beim Auspacken unbedingt auf Sauberkeit. Bewahren
Sie alle Teile auf einer sauberen, weichen Unterlage oder in
der Originalverpackung auf. Gehen Sie vorsichtig mit dem
Produkt um. Berühren Sie weder die Objektivabdeckung
des Kamerakopfes (E, Abbildung 2) noch das Sicherheits-
glas des Rotors, um uneingeschränkte Sichtbedingungen
zu gewährleisten.
Die Kamera, insbesondere die glasbedekte Front-
seite, darf keiner Stoßbelastung ausgesetzt werden,
da sonst die Lagereinheit, der Rotor oder andere Teile
beschädigt werden können.
Der Kamerakopf ist mit einer Kunststokappe abgedeckt.
Nehmen Sie die Kappe ab und bewahren Sie diese an
einem sicheren Ort auf, sodass Sie im Schadensfall schnell
verfügbar ist um die Kamera damit wieder abdecken zu
können und so vor Beschädigung zu schützen.
Nehmen Sie den Rotor aus der Verpackung und setzen
diesen auf dem Zentrumsansch des Kamerakopfes auf.
Halten Sie den Rotor vorsichtig mit der Hand fest und
ziehen Sie die Schraube mit einem Drehmoment von
0,6Nm an. Arretieren Sie keinesfalls den Rotor mit einem
spitzen Gegenstand wie beispielsweise einem Schrauben-
zieher. Zum Abnehmen des Rotors kann der mitgelieferte
Saugnapf verwendet werden.
Die Kamera ist, je nach Variante auf eine bestimmte
Fokuslage voreingestellt. Entnehmen Sie die Fokus-
lage dem Typenschild des Kameramoduls. Die
Fokuslage kann aufgrund der Abdichtung gegenüber
Medien, insbesondere bei Versagen des Rotors durch
Beschädigung durch abgebrochene Werkzeug- oder
Werkstückteile nachträglich nicht eigenständig verändert
werden.
Bei Einstellbedarf wenden Sie sich bitte an den
Hersteller. Jeglicher Versuch, das Gehäuse der Kamera-
köpfe zu önen um die Fokuslage selbst einzustellen geht
mit dem Verlust der Gewährleistung einher.
Das Produkt RotoclearC2 wird in einer stoßgeschützten,
umweltfreundlichen Verpackung geliefert.
Prüfen Sie nach Erhalt der Ware den Inhalt auf Voll-
ständigkeit und Unversehrtheit. Verwenden Sie für einen
Rücktransport ausschließlich die Originalverpackung
und demontieren Sie den Rotor! Beachten Sie das Kapitel
„Störbeseitigung“.
Montage und Einbaulösungen
Vor Beginn der Installationsarbeiten muss sicher-

Remove the camera from the packaging. When
unpacking, pay attention to cleanliness. Store all parts
on a clean, shock-absorbing surface or in the original
packaging. Handle the product with care. Do not touch the
lens cover of the camera head (E, Figure 2) or the safety
glass of the rotor to ensure unimpeded viewing conditions.
Do not subject the camera, especially the glass-
covered front to shock loads, as this may damage the
bearing unit, rotor or other parts.
The camera head is covered by a plastic cap. Remove the
cap and keep it in a safe place where it is readily available
for covering the camera in the event of damage, thereby
protecting it from further damage.
Remove the rotor from its packaging and place it on the
centre ange of the camera head. Carefully hold the rotor
in place using your hand and tighten the screw using a
torque of 0,6Nm. Never lock the rotor in place using a
sharp object, such as a screwdriver. To remove the rotor,
use the suction cup provided.
Depending on the specic variant, the camera is
precongured for a particular focus position. Please refer
to the nameplate of the camera module for the focus
position. The focus position can only be changed by the
manufacturer later on because it is sealed to keep out
media, particularly if the rotor fails due to damage from
broken tool or workpiece parts.
If adjustment of the focus is required, please
contact the manufacturer. Any attempt to open the
housing of the camera heads in order to adjust the focus
position yourself will invalidate the warranty.
The RotoclearC2 product is supplied in a shock-protected,
environmentally friendly packaging.
Upon receiving the product, please check that its contents
are complete and undamaged. For return transport, use
only the original packaging and dismantle the rotor! Please
observe chapter

gestellt werden, dass die Maschine von befähigtem
Fachpersonal ausgeschaltet und sicher gegen Wiederein-
schalten abgesichert wurde. Bei Zuwiderhandlung besteht
Verletzungsgefahr.
Bei Tätigkeiten im Arbeitsbereich der Werkzeug-
maschine besteht gegebenenfalls Verletzungsgefahr
durch rutschige Oberächen und scharfe Kanten in der
Werkzeugmaschine. Tragen Sie geeignete Schutzaus-
rüstung.
Stellen Sie vor Beginn der Arbeit sicher, dass anzu-
schließende Druckluftkomponenten ausgeschaltet sind
und machen Sie das System drucklos. Bei Zuwider-
handlung besteht Verletzungsgefahr.
Die Montage der Kamera kann auf unterschiedliche
Weise vorgenommen werden. Achten Sie darauf, dass
Sie den Kamerakopf so einbauen, dass Wärme über eine
metallische, wärmeleitende Oberäche ausreichend
abgeführt werden kann. Eine Installation in eine Blech-
wand ist hierfür ausreichend.
Die Gewinde sitzen in einer Achse mit den Positionen der
Kameraoptik(en) (E1, je nach Ausstattung E2). Für eine
Ausgabe im Querformat müssen die Schraubpositionen
(C) auf einer Horizontalen liegen. Für Hochformat
entsprechend auf einer Vertikalen, siehe Abbildung 3.
Befestigung des Kameramoduls
Neben dem optional erhältlichen Befestigungszubehör
(siehe auch Abschnitt „Flex-Armhalter“, „Kugelkopf-
halter“ und „Spindelmontage“) kann die Kamera nach
individuellen Wünschen befestigt werden.
Um den Durchbruch in der Gehäusewand abzudichten,
legen Sie den beiliegenden Dichtungsring in die dafür
vorgesehene Nut (D) ein.
Als Befestigungsschnittstelle benden sich, wie oben
beschrieben, zwei M4-Gewinde (C) auf der Rückseite des

Zur Befestigung sind, wie in Abbildung 3 gezeigt, die zwei
auf der Rückseite im Abstand von 51mm bendlichen
M4-Gewinde (C) zu verwenden.
Die Einschraubtiefe darf max. 4mm betragen, das
Anzugsdrehmoment max. 1,5Nm.
Das an die Schnittstelle (A) angeschlossene Kabel sowie
der Druckluftanschluss (B) können oen im medienbeauf-
schlagten Raum liegen, sofern sie durch Beschuss von
Spänen oder anderen scharfkantigen Teilen geschützt
sind.

When performing tasks in the working area of the
machine tool, there may be a risk of injury from slippery
surfaces and sharp edges. Wear suitable protective equip-

Before beginning work, ensure that compressed air
components to be connected are switched o and ensure
that the system is completely depressurised. Failure to
observe this will result in a risk of injury.
The assembly of the camera can be performed in various
ways. Ensure that you install the camera head such that
heat can be adequately dissipated by a metallic, heat-
conducting surface. Installation in a sheet metal panel is
sucient for this purpose.
The screw threads are located in a line with the positions of
the camera lens(es) (E1, or depending on conguration E2).
For output in landscape format, the screw positions (C)
must be located along a horizontal line. For portrait format,
they must be along a vertical line, see Figure 3.
Mounting the camera module
In addition to the optionally available mounting
accessories (also see the sections „Flex arm bracket“,
„Ball head bracket“ and „Spindle mounting“), the camera
can be mounted according to individual requirements.
To seal the opening in the housing wall, insert the
sealing ring into the groove (D) provided (enclosed).
As described above, two M4 threads (C) are provided
on the back of the housing as a mounting interface.
For mounting, use the two M4 threads (C) on the rear side
at a distance of 51 mm, as shown in Figure 3.
The screw-in depth may be max. 4mm, the
tightening torque max. 1.5Nm.
The cable connected to the interface (A) as well as
the compressed air connection (B) can be left open
in the space exposed to media, provided that they are
protected against shavings or other sharp-edged parts.

Steuerrechner
Der Steuerrechner wird typischerweise im Schaltschrank
oder in einem geschützten, für elektronische Geräte
vorgesehenen Bereich, an einer Hutschiene nach DIN
EN 60715 installiert. Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Steuer-
rechner mit der Schutzart IP30 unter Anderem nicht
gegen das Eindringen von Flüssigkeiten geschützt ist.
Zur Hutschienenmontage können Sie den vormontierten
Hutschienenclip verwenden. Dieser lässt sich in 90°
Schritten gedreht am Gehäuse des Rechners befestigen.
Somit können Sie den Steuerrechner in gewünschter
Position anbringen. Hängen Sie die obere Lasche des
Hutschienenclips an die obere Kante der Hutschiene (1,
Abbildung 4). Drücken Sie den Steuerrechner leicht nach
unten, sodass das Federelement des Clips an der unteren
Kante einrastet (2).
Zum Entfernen des Rechners nutzen Sie einen Schrauben-
zieher und ziehen die Lasche des Clips leicht nach
unten. Das Gerät kann nun leicht nach oben bewegt und
ausgehängt werden.
Önen Sie das Gehäuse des Steuerrechners nicht,
da sonst die Gewährleistungsansprüche verfallen.

Optimierungen durch den Hersteller
Das Produkt unterliegt einem kontinuierlichen
Optimierungsprozess. Nach Ermessen des Herstellers
können Änderungen an Geometrie, Anschlüssen und
Schnittstellen vorgenommen werden, die nicht das
grundsätzliche Konzept des Produktes verändern. Der
Hersteller verpichtet sich nicht, über nichtfunktionelle

When installing the camera head, please observe the
safety regulations, including the grounding and the
optional use of the pigtail cable for use in wet rooms, see
the chapter Startup.
Control unit
The control unit is typically installed on a top hat rail
according to DIN EN 60715 in the control cabinet or in a
protected area meant for electronic devices. Please note
that, among other things, the control unit with IP30 ingress
protection is not protected against the ingress of uids.
For top-hat rail mounting, you can use the pre-mounted
top-hat rail clip. It can be rotated in steps of 90° and axed
to the unit housing. This allows you to attach the control
unit in the desired position. Hang the upper ange of the
top-hat rail clip on the upper edge of the top-hat rail (1,
Figure 4). Gently press the control unit downwards, such
that the spring element of the clip snaps into place at the
bottom edge (2).
To remove the control unit, use a screwdriver and gently
pull the ange of the clip downwards. The device can now
easily be moved upwards and removed.
Do not open the housing of the control computer,
as this will void all warranty claims.

Optimisations by the manufacturer
The product is subject to a continuous optimisation
process. At the manufacturer‘s discretion, changes can
be made to geometry, connections and interfaces that
do not change the basic concept of the product. The
manufacturer is not obliged to actively inform about non-
functional adjustments to the product.

Datenkabel, Erdung und Sperrluftver-
sorgung
Führen Sie das Datenkabel (B1, Abbildung 2) vom Kamera-
modul bzw. vom Adapter des Halters in den Schaltschrank
bzw. an den Installationsort des Steuerrechners. Achten
Sie dabei auf sachgemäße Abdichtung an den Durch-
führungen von medienbeaufschlagten Bereichen in
geschützte Bereiche bzw. in den Schaltschrank.
Verbinden Sie das Kabel mit der Schnittstelle für den
ersten Kamerakopf mit der Aufschrift „Camera A“. Ein
optionales zweites Kameramodul verbinden Sie mit der
Schnittstelle „Camera B“.
Achten Sie beim Verlegen des Kabels darauf, dass
keine Störsignale von benachbarten Stromkabeln die
Übertragung beeinträchtigen. Verwenden Sie nur das
mitgelieferte Kabel.
Bitte stellen Sie unbedingt die Trockenheit und
Sauberkeit sowie die korrekte Einstellung der zugeführten
Sperrluft sicher. Der Kamerakopf ist mit einem Drucksensor
ausgestattet. Dieser hilft bei der korrekten Einstellung der
Sperrluft und überwacht diese dauerhaft. Eine fehler-
hafte Einstellung oder eine Beschädigung des Systems
wird detektiert und eine Warnung in der Bedienoberäche
angezeigt. Wir raten davon ab, den Kamerakopf nach oben
auszurichten, da bei fehlerhafter Sperrluftversorgung oder
auftreender Flüssigkeit bei ausgeschalteter Maschine
Medien leichter in das Labyrinth eindringen können.
Bei Beschädigung der Rotorscheibe beachten Sie bitte
das Kapitel „Rotorwechsel“. Durch verunreinigte oder
fehlende Sperrluft hervorgerufene Undichtigkeit beein-
trächtigen die Sicht und die Funktionsweise der Kamera.
Sollte es erforderlich sein, bereiten Sie die Sperrluft mit
einer Wartungseinheit mit mehrstugem Filtersystem auf.
Beachten Sie die Anforderungen an die Sperrluft, die im
Kapitel „Spezikationen“ genannt sind.
Sowohl der Kamerakopf als auch der Steuer-
rechner besitzen einen Anschluss für die Erdung, siehe
(H) in Abbildung 2, bzw. (A) in Abbildung 4. Sollte eine
Erdung des System gemäß gültiger Normen (wie z.B. IEC
60204-1:2019-06) in Ihrer Einbausituation erforderlich
sein, verbinden Sie den Steuerrechner über ein Erdungs-
kabel mit dem Schutzleiter. Achten Sie unbedigt darauf,
alle Geräte an den selben Schutzleiter anzuschließen.
Befestigungszubehör
Es sind mehrere Halter für die Installation des Kamera-
kopfes im Maschineninnenraum als optionales Zubehör
verfügbar, siehe Abbildung 5.
• Der Flex-Armhalter (Blecheinbau) (A) eignet sich
am besten für die Installation in eine Blechwand mit
direkter Durchführung der Kabel.
• Der Flex-Armhalter (Vorwandmontage) (B) lässt sich
Data cable, grounding and purge air supply
Lay the data cable (B1, Figure 2) from the camera module
and/or the adapter of the bracket into the control cabinet
and/or to the installation site of the control unit. When
doing so, ensure proper sealing at the transitions from
areas exposed to media into protected areas and/or into
the control cabinet.
Connect the cable to the interface for the rst camera
head with the label „Camera A“. Connect the second
camera module (optional) to the interface „Camera B“.
When laying the cable, ensure that no interfering signals
from neighbouring power cables can disrupt the trans-
mission. Only use the cable provided.
Please ensure the dryness and cleanliness as well
as the correct conguration of the purge air supplied.
The camera head is equipped with a pressure sensor.
It helps with the correct conguration of the purge air
and monitors it constantly. An incorrect conguration or
damage to the system is detected and a warning displayed
in the user interface. It is not recommendable to orientate
the camera head upwards due to the risk of uids entering
the labyrinth sealing in the case of insucient air purge or
uids occurring while the machine is switched o.
If the rotor disk is damaged, please refer to the chapter
„Changing the rotor“. Leaks due to contaminated
or insucient purge air will impair the sight and the
functioning of the camera. If necessary, pre-treat the
purge air using a service unit with a multi-stage lter
system. Pay attention to the requirements for the purge air
which are indicated in the specications.
Both the camera head and the control computer
have a connection for grounding, see (H) in Figure 2 and
(A) in Figure 4, respectively. If grounding of the system
according to applicable standards (such as IEC 60204-
1:2019-06) is required in your installation situation, connect
the control computer to the grounding conductor using a
grounding cable. Make absolutely sure that all devices are
connected to the same protective earth conductor.
Mounting accessories
Several brackets for installing the camera head in the
internal chamber of the machine are available as optional
accessories, see Figure 5.
• The ex arm bracket (sheet metal installation) (A) is
ideal for installation in a sheet metal wall with a direct
cable feed-through.
• The ex arm bracket (pre-wall mounting) (B) can

einfache und schnelle Montage ohne Modikation an
der Werkzeugmaschine, insbesondere für Tests bzw.
die Auswahl des geeigneten Einbauorts. Für dauer-
hafte Installation wird die Montage empfohlen.
In den Standardversion sind bei allen Varianten des Flex-
Armhalters ±40° Neigung (±20° pro Gelenk) möglich. Es
sind Verlängerungsstücke verfügbar, die jeweils zusätz-
liche ±20° Neigung ermöglichen.
• Der Kugelkopfhalter (D, Abbildung inklusive Werkzeug)
ist für den Einbau in eine Blechwand vorgesehen.
Aufgrund der achen und spanabweisenden Konturen
neigt dieser Halter zu vergleichsweise geringer
Spänenesterbildung. Der Halter ist nur mit Kamera-
köpfen mit Kugelgehäuse kompatibel. Die maximale
Neigung beträgt ±20° zur Bohrungsachse. Der
Kamerakopf ist mit Ausrichtung von 0-360° gedreht
einbaubar.

Flex-Armhalter
Es sind mehrere Versionen der Flex-Armhalter für die
Installation des Kamerakopfes im Maschineninnenraum als
optionales Zubehör verfügbar.
Auf Anfrage erhalten Sie CAD-Modelle der
verschiedenen Versionen.
Zur Montage in eine Blechwand (zwischen G2 und F) muss
der Steckanschluss für die Sperrluft (B, Abbildung 2) auf
der Rückseite des Kamerakopfes entfernt werden. Dieser
besitzt einen innenliegenden Sechskantantrieb. Schließen
Sie das Datenkabel (B, Abbildung 6) an den M12 Anschluss
an. Führen Sie das lose Ende durch den Halter (C) und
setzen den Kamerakopf auf die Aufnahme. Zuvor legen Sie
den Dichtungsring (D) in die dafür vorgesehene Nut ein.
Schrauben Sie den Kamerakopf mit den beiliegenden M4
Schrauben (E1) und den zugehörigen Usit-Ringen (E2) fest.
Zur Ausrichtung können Sie die Muttern an den Gelenken
lösen.
Achten Sie darauf, dass alle Verbindungen fest-
gezogen sind, da die Dichtheit des Systems gegen
das Eindringen von Kühlschmiersto davon abhängig
ist. Andernfalls kann das Kameramodul irreversibel
beschädigt werden. Das Anzugsdrehmoment beträgt
5Nm.

cable and the purge air supply can be routed via a
separately available protective hose.
• The ex arm bracket (magnetic bracket) (C) is ideal
for simple and quick mounting without modication to
the machine tool, in particular for tests or selecting a
suitable installation location. For permanent installation,
mounting is recommended.
In the standard versions, an inclination of ±40° (±20° per
joint) is possible for all variants of the ex arm bracket.
Extension pieces are available, each of which allows an
additional inclination of ±20°.
• The ball head bracket (D, Figure including tool) is
designed for installation in a sheet metal wall. Thanks to
its at and chip-repellent contours, comparatively few
chip nests occur when using this bracket. This bracket
is only compatible with camera heads with a ball
housing. The maximum inclination is ±20° to the axis of
the drill hole. The camera head can be installed with a
rotation ranging from 0-360°.
•

Several versions of the ex arm bracket for installing the
camera head in the internal chamber of the machine are
available as optional accessories.
CAD models of the various versions are available
upon request.
For mounting in a sheet metal wall (between G2 and F),
the plug-in connection for the purge air (B, Figure 2) on
the rear of the camera head will need to be removed. It is
outtted with an internal hexagon drive. Connect the data
cable (B, Figure 6) to the M12 connector. Feed the loose
end through the bracket (C) and place the camera head
on the mount. Before doing this, insert the sealing ring (D)
into the groove provided. Screw the camera head in place
using the enclosed M4 screws (E1) and the corresponding
Usit rings (E2).
You may loosen the nuts on the joints to perform align-
ment.
Ensure that all connections have been tightened,
as this protects the system against leaks and the ingress
of cooling lubricant. Failure to ensure this may cause
irreparable damage to the camera module. The tightening
torque is 5Nm.

Für den Einbau muss an geeigneter Stelle ein runder
Ausschnitt zur Durchführung eines M32x1.5 eingebracht
werden (siehe Abbildung 6).
Führen Sie das Datenkabel (B) durch die Bohrung und
setzen den Halter (C) mit eingelegter Dichtung (F) auf.
Von der Gegenseiten die Metallteile der Kabeldurch-
führung (G1, G2) auf das Datenkabel aufschieben.
Schrauben Sie nun das Gehäuse (G2) der Kabeldurch-
führung in den von der Gegenseite aufgesetzten Halter (C)
ein.
Bringen Sie die Dichtung (G3) zwischen den Metall-
teilen auf das Datenkabel auf. Achten Sie darauf die
entsprechende Bohrung zum Kabeldurchmesser auszu-
wählen.
Schrauben Sie die Kabeldurchführung zusammen. Bevor
sie festgezogen wird, legen Sie die Blindstopfen in die
beiden anderen Bohrungen, sowie das Sperrluftkabel (H)
in die 6mm Bohrung ein.
Flex-Armhalter (Vorwandmontage)
Es gibt mehrere Möglichkeiten den Flex-Armhalter
(Vorwandmontage) zu befestigen:
1. in Blech: Führen Sie von der Rückseite des Blechs die
M6 Schrauben (A, Abbildung 7) hindurch und setzen
den M6 Usit-Ring (B) auf. Schrauben Sie damit den
Adapter fest.
2. In Vollmaterial mit M5 Gewinde: Führen Sie hierzu die
M5x20 Schrauben (C) mit aufgesetztem M5 Usit-Ring
(D) von der Innenseite des Adapters ein und schrauben
Sie ihn an dem aufnehmenden Teil mit vorbereiteten
M5 Gewinden fest.
3. Für weitere Montagearten stehen M3 und M5 Gewinde
auf der Rückseite zur Verfügung, siehe Abbildung.
Schließen Sie hierfür die Bohrungen auf der Rück-
seite des Adapters mit der M6 Schraube (E) mit
aufgesetztem M6 Usit-Ring (B) wie in 1. beschrieben
von der Innenseite luftdicht ab.
Führen Sie nun das Datenkabel durch den Adapter von
der angewinkelten Seite aus durch und schrauben Sie
den Gelenkteil des Halters auf den Adapter auf. Dichten
Sie die Verschraubung mit dem beiliegenden Dichtungs-
ring fachgerecht ab. Montieren Sie auf der achen
Seite die Kabeldurchführung wie im vorhergehenden
Abschnitt beschrieben. Dichten Sie die nicht verwendeten
Bohrungen für andere Kabelvarianten mit den Bolzen ab
und schließen Sie das Sperrluftkabel an der 6mm Bohrung
an. Alternativ kann zwischen Kabeldurchführung und
Adapter auch ein Schutzschlauch montiert werden. Für
die Durchführung der Kabel durch die Maschinenwand
sind die Kabeldurchführungen separat erhältlich.

For installation, a round hole must be drilled at a suitable
location for the insertion of an M32x1.5 (see Figure 6).
Feed the data cable (B) through the hole and t the bracket
(C) with inserted seal (F).
From the opposite side, t the metal parts of the cable
bushing (G1, G2) over the data cable.
Now screw the housing (G2) of the cable bushing into the
bracket (C) tted from the opposite side.
Fit the seal (G3) between the metal parts over the data
cable. Be sure to select the corresponding hole size for the
cable diameter.
Screw the cable bushing together. Before it is tightened,
insert the dummy plugs into the other two holes and the
purge air cable (H) into the 6mm hole.
Flex arm bracket (pre-wall mounting)
There are several options for xing the ex arm bracket
(pre-wall mounting) in place:
1. In sheet metal: Insert the M6 screws through the sheet
metal from the rear (A, Figure 7) and t the M6 Usit ring
(B) over them. Use it to screw the adapter in place.
2. In solid material with M5 thread: In this case, insert the
M5x20 screws (C) with the M5 Usit ring (D) tted from
the inside of the adapter and screw it to the receiving
part via the prepared M5 threads.
3. M3 and M5 threads are available on the rear for other
types of mounting, see Figure. For this purpose, seal the
holes on the rear of the adapter from the inside using
the M6 screw (E) with the M6 Usit ring (B) attached, as
described in 1, making sure that they are airtight.
Now feed the data cable through the adapter from the
angled side and screw the jointed section of the bracket
onto the adapter. Use the enclosed sealing ring to properly
seal the screw connection. On the at side, mount the
cable bushing as described in the previous section.
Seal the unused holes for other cable variants using the
bolts and connect the purge air cable to the 6mm hole.
Alternatively, a protective hose can also be mounted
between the cable bushing and the adapter. Cable
bushings are available separately for feeding the cables
through the machine wall.

Alternativ lässt sich an den Adapter auch ein Schuh mit
zwei Rundmagneten anschrauben. Dies ermöglicht
einen exiblen und einfachen, bzw. temporären Einbau,
beispielsweise für Testzwecke. Wie im vorgehenden
Abschnitt unter Punkt 3. beschrieben, muss der Adapter
mittels der M6 Schrauben luftdicht abgeschlossen
werden.
(( )) Beachten Sie, dass die verwendeten Neodym-
magnete sehr starke Kräfte entwickeln können. Gegenpole
ziehen sich an und können zusammen schlagen. Es besteht
die Gefahr von Verletzungen z.B. durch Einklemmen von
Fingern. Tragen Sie geeignete Schutzausrüstung wie z.B.
Handschuhe.
Achten Sie auf die magnetischen Kräfte, wenn Sie eine
medizinische Kreislaufunterstützung implantiert haben.
Halten Sie die Bauteile nicht unmittelbar vor Ihren Körper.
Halten Sie einen Abstand zwischen Implantat und Rotor
von mindestens 20 cm ein.
Kugelkopfhalter
Beachten Sie, dass Datenkabel sowie Sperrluftleitung
hinter der Blechwand bis zur Installationsstelle verlegt
werden müssen und für die Montage hinter der Blechwand
ein ausreichender Freiraum für die Steckverbindungen
vorhanden ist. Zur Ermittlung des benötigten Installations-
raumes können auf Anfrage CAD-Modelle bereitgestellt
werden. Beachten Sie die statischen Biegeradien der
Daten- und Sperrluftkabel, die im Anhang unter „Spezi-
kationen“ genannt werden.
Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten zur Installation.
1. Diese Installationsart eignet sich am besten für eine
Nachrüstung: Bringen Sie einen Ausschnitt von Ø115mm
in die Blechwand ein (Abbildung 8). Dafür geeignetes
Werkzeug können Sie bei Bedarf mieten, sofern
Rotoclear oder ein zertizierter Vertriebspartner dies
in Ihrem Land anbietet. Führen Sie das Gegenstück des
Halters (A) durch den Ausschnitt und befestigen ihn
mittels der als Montagehilfe eingebrachten Magneten
auf der Rückseite der Maschinenwand. Richten Sie die
Kanten des Gegenstücks an der Kante des Auschnittes
aus. Setzen Sie den Halter (B) von vorne vorsichtig
auf und achten Sie darauf, dass das Gegenstück nicht
herunterfällt. Befestigen diesen mit den M5 Schrauben
mit aufgesetzten M5 Usit-Ringen (C1 und C2). Achten
Sie darauf, dass die Dichtung (D) zur Blechwand korrekt
eingelegt ist. Legen Sie den inneren Dichtungsring (E)
ein und ziehen Sie das Datenkabel sowie die Sperr-

Alternatively, a saddle with two round magnets can also be
screwed onto the adapter. This allows for easy and exible
and/or temporary installation, e.g. for testing purposes.
As described under point 3 of the previous section, the
adapter must be sealed in an airtight fashion using the M6
screws.
(( )) Please note that extremely powerful forces may
result from the neodymium magnets used. Opposing
poles attract and can strike each other. There is a risk
of injury, e.g. of ngers getting clamped. Wear suitable
protective equipment, such as gloves.
Pay attention to the magnetic forces if you have
medical circulatory support implanted. Do not hold the
components directly in front of your body. Keep a minimum
distance of 20 cm between the implant and the rotor.
Ball head bracket
Please note that the data cables and the purge air line will
need to be routed behind the sheet metal wall up to the
installation point, and that there must be sucient free
space for the plug connections behind the sheet metal
wall for installation. Upon request, CAD models can be
provided to determine the installation space required.
Please pay attention to the static bending radii of the
data and purge air cables specied in the appendix under
„Specications“.
There are two possibilities for installation.
1. This installation variant is best suited for retrots: Cut
a hole measuring Ø115mm into the sheet metal wall
(Figure 8). You can rent suitable tools for this purpose
if Rotoclear or a certied distributor oers this service
in your country. Insert the bracket counterpart (A)
through the hole and x it to the rear of the machine
wall using the magnets provided as a mounting aid.
Align the edges of the counterpart to the edge of the
hole. Carefully t the bracket (B) from the front, taking

Spindelmontage
Die Kamera kann im Bereich der Werkzeugmaschinen-
spindel, beispielsweise direkt am Spindelstock, montiert
werden, auch wenn die Werkzeugmaschinenspindel mit
einer A- und / oder B-Achse beweglich ausgeführt ist. Sie
ist darauf ausgelegt, Bewegungen wie sie am Spindel-
kopf auftreten können aufzunehmen. Eine spezielle
Halterung wird dafür nicht angeboten. Verwenden Sie die
in Abschnitt „Befestigung des Kameramoduls“ genannten
Möglichkeiten zur Befestigung des Kamerakopfes.
Inbetriebnahme
Dieses System darf erst in Betrieb genommen
werden, wenn die betreende Maschine, nach Einbau
des Kamerasystems den Bestimmungen der Richtlinie
2006/42/EG (Maschinenrichtlinie) entspricht.
Die Inbetriebnahme darf nur von befähigtem
Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden. Während der
Inbetriebnahme besteht Gefahr durch anlaufende oder
rotierende Teile. Vermeiden Sie Berührungen während
des Betriebs.
Tragen Sie Schutzausrüstung, unter Anderem eine
Schutzbrille.
Verbinden und trennen Sie die Kameraköpfe nur in

Spindle mounting
The camera can be mounted in the area of the machine
tool spindle, for example directly on the headstock, even
if the machine tool spindle is designed to be mobile along
an A and/or B axis. It is designed to record the movements
that can occur at the spindle head. A special mount is
not provided for this purpose. Use the options listed in
the section „Mounting the camera module“ to mount the
camera head.
Startup
This system is only to be put into operation when
the machine in which it is installed complies with the
provisions of Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive).
Commissioning is only to be performed by qualied
specialist personnel. During commissioning, components
that are starting up or rotating pose a hazard. Avoid any
contact during operation.

Die Zylindermanteläche des Kamerakopfs könnte unter
solchen Bedingungen unter Umständen Temperaturen
über 60°C erreichen (Verbrennungsgefahr) und Schaden
nehmen.
Der Kamerakopf wird im Betrieb mit einer
Spannung von 48VDC versorgt. Gemäß der Richtlinie IEC
60204-1:2019-06 darf bei Verwendung in Nassräumen,
wie beispielsweise in der Werkzeugspindel, am losen
Ende des Kabels max. 15VDC anliegen. Hierzu wird die
Stromversorgung bei Trennen der Verbindung zwischen
Steuerrechner und Kamerakopf abgeschaltet. Erst bei
Wiederverbindung des Kamerakopfes wird die notwendige
Versorgungsspannung erneut angelegt. Die Erkennung
des Kamerakopfes wird mittels eines Prüfsignals, das
unter 15VDC liegt, realisiert. Ist dies nach Risikobeurteilung
des Maschinenherstellers nicht ausreichend, kann ein
Pigtail-Kabel (A) mit dem Anschluss des Kamerakopfes
z.B. mittels eines Schrumpfschlauches (B) unlösbar
verbunden werden, siehe Abbildung 9. Anstelle des
Datenkabels mit zwei männlichen M12-Steckern ist ein
Verlängerungskabel mit einer weiblichen M12-Buchse (auf
der Seite des Kamerakopfes) und einem männlichen M12
Stecker (auf der Seite des Steuerechners) zu verwenden.
Vorkongurierte Kameraköpfe können Sie spezisch für
den gewünschten Einsatzzweck auch auf direkte Anfrage
beziehen. Im Falle des Eigenbezugs des Pigtailkabels
und des Datenkabels ist zwingend die Spezikation der
Anschlüsse und Kabel zu beachten, siehe Kapitel „Spezi-
kation - Schnittstellen“.

performed using a test signal that is below 15VDC. If this
is insucient according to the machine manufacturer‘s
risk assessment, a pigtail cable (A) can be attached to the
connector of the camera head and the connection made
permanent, e.g. by means of a shrink hose (B), see Figure
9. Thus, an electrically safe connection for wet conditions
is established. Instead of installing the data cable with two
male ends, it is necessary to replace it with an extension
cable with a female end pointing towards the camera head
and one male end pointing towards the control unit. Upon
receipt of a direct inquiry, the manufacturer can provide
the camera heads with a non-reversible pigtail cable and
an extension cable. For organising the interfaces, data
cables and pigtail cables without the manufacturer, please
refer to the necessary cable specications in chapter
„Specications - interfaces“.

Integration in externe Systeme
RTSP-Stream

bestehendes Überwachungssystem einbinden, steht
Ihnen das RTSP-Protokoll zur Verfügung. Konsultieren Sie
die Betriebsanleitung bzw. den Hersteller des Systems, um
zu klären, ob Ihr System das Protokoll und übertragbaren
Auösungen und Bildwiederholraten unterstützt und wie
die Kamera eingebunden werden kann.

Alternativ geben Sie die IP-Adresse und den Port 1025 in

RTSP stream
If you would like to integrate the camera into an existing
monitoring system, you can use the RTSP protocol.
Consult the operating manual and/or the manufacturer of
the system to clarify if your system supports the protocol
and transferable resolutions and frame rates, and how the
camera can be integrated.
The stream address is as follows: rtsp://<IP address>:1025.
Alternatively, enter the IP address and the port 1025
in your system. Note the latencies specied under
„Specications“ for this protocol.
This option can be deactivated.

HTTP-Stream

Steuerungssoftware. Die Systemvoraussetzungen können
Sie den Spezikationen im Anhang entnehmen.
Websocket-API (Application Programming
Interface)
Die Kamera verfügt über eine öentiche Programmier-
schnittstelle. Grundlegende Kamerafunktionen können
über eine Websocket-Verbindung gesteuert werden.
Grundsätzlich können verschiedene Programiersprache
nzum Einsatz kommen. Der verwendete Port sowie ein
API Token können im Menü unter Verbindung konguriert
werden. Konsultieren Sie für eine Beschreibung der
Schnittstelle die Dokumentation im Anhang.
Die Schnittstelle ist als separat zu
lizensierendes Softwaremodul verfügbar und nicht im
Standardlieferumfang enthalten.
Software
Erster Start des Systems
Beim ersten Hochfahren des Systems können Sie die
Sprache, die Zeit sowie einen PIN festlegen und Sie werden
mithilfe des Einrichtungsassisten mit der Benutzung der
Kamera vertraut gemacht.
Der Assistent kann nachträglich im Menü unter
„Einstellungen“ nochmals eingeblendet werden.
Bedienoberäche und Menü
Bei Klick oder Touch-Geste auf das Livebild werden die
Bedienelemente ein- bzw. ausgeblendet. Über das Menü-
symbol links oben erreichen Sie die Einstellungen.

WebSocket API (Application Programming
Interface)
The camera features a public programming inter-
face. Basic camera functions can be controlled via a
WebSocket connection. Various programming languages
can generally be used. The port used and an API token
can be congured in the menu under Connection.
For a description of the interface, please consult the
documentation in the appendix.
The interface is available as a separately licensed
software module and is not included as part of the
standard scope of delivery.
Software
Initial launch of the system
When starting up the system for the rst time, you can
choose the language, the time and a PIN and the setup
wizard will get you familiarised with the use of the camera.
The wizard can be viewed again at a later point in time in
the menu under the item „Settings“.
User interface and menu
The control elements will be shown or hidden with a click
or touch gesture on the live image. You can access the
settings via the menu symbol.

verschiedenen Aufnahmemodi (z.B. Foto und Video)
gewechselt werden. Mit dem Aufnahmeknopf wird eine
Aufnahme eines Videos bzw. Fotos ausgelöst. Beachten
Sie, dass die Elemente nur eingeblendet sind, wenn ein
Speicherort deniert ist.
Rechts daneben ndet sich der Umschalter zwischen den
Streams der verschiedenen Kameraköpfe. Dieses Element
ist eingeblendet, sobald zwei Kameraköpfe am Steuer-
rechner angeschlossen sind.
Kameraköpfe können mit zwei Optiken ausgestattet
sein. Wird ein solches Modul angschlossen erscheint ein
Umschalter über dem Aufnahmeknopf, mit dem zwischen
beiden Sensoren gewechselt werden kann.
Ist ein Speicherort deniert, so wird links neben dem
Aufnahmeknopf das Symbol für die Bilder und Video
Gallerie eingeblendet.
Neben dem Menüsymbol benden sich die Quick Access
Buttons über die Funktionen wir beispielsweise das Licht
oder der Bild in Bild Modus aktiviert werden kann. Je
nach Zustand und Ausstattung des Systems werden die
entsprechenden Buttons ein- oder ausgeblendet.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die in diesem Kapitel
beschriebenen Optionen, Einstellungen sowie der
Funktionsumfang je nach Modell bzw. Ausstattungs-
variante variieren können. Die Verfügbarkeit kann auch von
der installlierten Softwareversion abhängen. Achten Sie
darauf, stets die aktuellste verfügbare Softwareversion zu
installieren (siehe Kapitel „Softwareupdate“). Für manche
Optionen bzw. Funktionen ist ein separater kosten-
pichtiger Lizenzschlüssel erforderlich.

unter „Einstellungen“ in der Rubrik „Steuerrechner“
angezeigt.
Achten Sie darauf, die Software des Kamerasystems
immer auf dem aktuellsten Stand zu halten. Jeder neue
Softwarestand kann neue Funktionen, Verbesserungen
und Fehlerbehebungen, die auch sicherheitsrelevant sein
können, beinhalten.
Der Vorgang kann mehrere Minuten in Anspruch nehmen.
Das Kamerasystem kann in dieser Zeit nicht benutzt oder
anderweitig bedient werden. Die Kamera startet nach
Abschluss der Aktualisierung neu. Gegebenenfalls muss
die Web-Oberäche neu geladen werden.
Service zum Produkt kann nur zur jeweils aktuellen
Softwareversion geboten werden.
Es bestehen verschiedene Möglichkeiten die Software auf
dem Steuerrechner des Kamerasystems RotoclearC2 zu
aktualisieren.
The control elements can be used to switch between the
dierent recording modes (e.g. photo and video). The
record button triggers the capturing of a video or photo.
Note that these elements will only be displayed if a storage
location is dened.
To its right is a switch that toggles between the streams of
the dierent camera heads. This element is displayed as
soon as two camera heads are connected to the control
unit.
Camera heads can be equipped with two lenses. When
such a module is connected, a switch appears above the
record button that toggles between the two sensors.
When a storage location is dened, the symbol for the
picture and video gallery appears to the left of the record
button.
Located next to the menu symbol are the Quick Access
buttons. These can be used to activate functions such as
the light or picture-in-picture mode. Depending on the
status and conguration of the system, the corresponding
buttons are shown or hidden.
Please note that the options, settings and range of
functions described in this chapter may vary depending
on the model or equipment variant. Availability may also
depend on the software version installed. Always ensure
that the latest available software version is installed (see
chapter „Software update“). Some options or functions
may require the purchase of a separate licence key.
Software update
The current version of the software is displayed in
the menu under „Settings“ in the „Control unit“ section.
Always ensure that the software of the camera
system is kept up to date. Each new software version may
include new features, improvements and bug xes that
may also be relevant for security and safety.
This process may take several minutes. During this time,
it will not be possible to use or otherwise operate the
camera system. After the update is complete, the camera
will restart. It may be necessary to reload the web inter-
face after this happens.
Customer service for the product can only be
provided for the current software version.
There are several ways to update the software on the
control unit of the Rotoclear C2 camera system.

Online Update (Meldung)
Voraussetzung:

Sobald ein Update zur Verfügung steht wird dies auch
im Menü unter „Einstellungen“ in der Rubrik „Online
Aktualisierung“ angezeigt. Um manuell auf neue Updates
zu überprüfen klicken Sie auf den Pfeil. Wird ein verfüg-
bares Update angezeigt klicken Sie auf „aktualisieren“ und
warten Sie bis das Update abgeschlossen ist.
Manuelles Update (Drag & Drop)
Voraussetzung:
1. Software-Datei wurde von www.rotoclear.com/
c2-downloads heruntergeladen.
2. Webinterface ist geönet.
Ziehen Sie die Software-Datei per Drag & Drop ins
Browserfenster in dem das Webinterface geönet ist.
Bestätigen Sie den Dialog mit „OK“ bestätigen und warten
Sie bis das Update abgeschlossen ist.
Manuelles Update (USB-Stick)
Voraussetzung:
1. Software-Datei wurde von www.rotoclear.com/
c2-downloads heruntergeladen.
2. Webinterface oder HDMI-Menü ist geönet.
Kopieren Sie die Software-Datei in das Hauptverzeichnis
eines USB-Sticks und stecken Sie ihn in einen USB-Port
am Steuerrechner ein. Im Menü wird unter „Einstellungen“
in der Rubrik „Online Aktualisierung“ eine Schaltäche
angezeigt. Alternativ kann das Update auch durch einen
Klick auf „Software-Datei auswählen“ aus einem Unterver-
zeichnis ausgewählt werden. Klicken Sie auf „aktualisieren“
und warten Sie bis das Update abgeschlossen ist.
Recovery Mode
Sollte die Software der Kamera nicht mehr starten
oder oensichtlich nur noch fehlerhaft funktionieren
(beispielsweise aufgrund einer fehlerhaften Konguration,
unterbrochenem oder fehlgeschlagenem Update), so
kann sie mittels Recovery Mode wiederhergestellt werden.
Startet die Software nicht mehr korrekt, so startet der
Recovery Mode automatisch. Der Recovery Mode lässt

Click on the arrow to manually check for new updates. If
the system indicates that an update is available, click on

2. Web interface is open.
Drag and drop the software le into the browser window
with the open web interface. Conrm the dialogue with
„OK“ and wait until the update is complete.
Manual update (USB ash drive)
Prerequisite:
1. Software le has been downloaded from www.
rotoclear.com/c2-downloads
2. Web interface or HDMI menu is open.
Copy the software le to the root directory of a USB ash
drive and insert it into a USB port on the control unit.
In the menu, a button appears under „Settings“ in the
section „Online update“. Alternatively, the update can also
be selected from a subdirectory by clicking on „Select
software le“. Click on „Update“ and wait until the update
is complete.
Recovery mode
If the camera software is unable to start up or it is obvious
that it is functioning incorrectly (for example, due to a
faulty conguration, interrupted or failed update), it can
be restored using recovery mode. If the software no
longer starts up correctly, recovery mode will launch
automatically. Recovery mode can also be initiated
manually by interrupting the power supply 10 times in

c2-downloads herunter und kopieren Sie diese in das
Hauptverzeichnis eines USB-Sticks. Stecken Sie den
USB-Stick an eine USB-Schnittstelle. Der Recovery Mode
erkennt die Firmware-Datei und startet den Wieder-
herstellungsprozess automatisch.
SwipeZoom Feature
Mit dem Mausrad oder mit einer Zoomgeste können Sie
die Zoomfunktion bedienen. Der Ausschnitt kann mittels
Linksklick oder Touchgeste verschoben werden.
Speicher
Zur Aufnahme von Bildern und Videos wird ein
externer Speicher benötigt. Steht kein Speicherort
zur Verfügung sind die Aufnahmefunktionalitäten
ausgeblendet.
USB-Stick
Stecken Sie den USB-Stick in den mit „Storage“ gekenn-
zeichneten USB Steckplatz ein. Die Kamera erkennt den
Speicher automatisch. Sind mehrere Speichermedien
verfügbar, so kann der Speicherort im Menü unter
„Aufnahme“ ausgewählt bzw. geändert werden.
Externe Festplatte (USB)
Es können externe Festplatten als Speichermedium
verwendet werden. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Festplatte
in einem der unterstützten Dateisysteme formatiert ist.

Netzwerkspeicher
Zur Aufnahme von Bildern und Videos können eben-
falls Dateifreigaben im Netzwerk als Speichermedium
ausgewählt werden. Steht kein Speicherort zur Verfügung
sind die Aufnahmefunktionalitäten ausgeblendet.
Information zur Einrichtung von Dateifreigaben am
Beispiel von WIndows 10 und Linux (Ubuntu) nden Sie im
Anhang unter „Dateifreigaben einrichten“.
Verbinden des Netzwerkspeichers
Navigieren Sie im Menü des Kamerasystems unter
„Aufnahme“ zum Unterpunkt „Speicherort“ und wählen Sie
„Ordner Freigabe (Samba Cifs)“ in der Dropdown Auswahl-
liste unter aus.
Es önet sich der Unterpunkt „Verbindung“ wo Sie

SwipeZoom feature
With the mouse wheel or a zoom gesture, you can operate
the zoom function. The zoomed section can be panned
with a left click or a touch gesture.
Storage
An external storage device is required in order to
save pictures and videos. If no storage location is available,
the recording functions will be hidden.
USB ash drive
Insert the USB ash drive into the USB slot marked as
„Storage“. The camera will automatically detect the
storage device. If more than one storage medium is
available, the storage location can be selected or changed
in the menu under „Recording“.
External hard disk (USB)
External hard disks can be used as a storage medium.
Ensure that the hard disk is formatted using one of the
supported le systems.
You will nd additional information in the specications.
Network storage
File shares on the network can also be selected as a
storage medium for saving pictures and videos. If no
storage location is available, the recording functions will
be hidden.
Information on setting up le shares using Windows
10 and Linux (Ubuntu) as examples can be found in the
appendix under „Setting up le shares“.
Connecting a network storage device
In the camera system menu under „Recording“, click on
the sub-item „Storage location“ and select „Folder sharing
(Samba Cifs)“ from the drop-down selection list.
In the sub-item „Connection“ that then appears, you can
enter the login data for your share. Click on „Connect“ to
