Warning decals
1. Install the warning decal for changing
tools in the cab.
2. Warning decal; lock cylinder function
– locate on lock cylinder
3. Install the warning decals for
collision risk and weight parameters
in the cab.
!
IMPORTANT – the decals are extremely important for safety
when operating the product.
Keep the warning decals fully legible.
Limitations
An installed tiltrotator will change the
base machine’s geometry and weight
parameters. Pay attention to the risk
of collision between the base machine,
tools and/or its load.
Take extra care when handling long
objects due to the forces of inertia and
the extended risk area.
Because there is a risk that the load
or part of the load will fall, nobody may
be present beneath a hoisted object.
!
WARNING!
From a safety point of view, the quick coupler with its locking
function is a very important part of Rototilt®. A fault in the function
may cause costly down time and in the worst case, serious
personal injuries. Follow the instructions carefully and note the
warnings given in this document. If there is a problem or a fault is
detected in the Quick coupler’s locking function, contact your
dealer.
In the event of an accident
Always rest the tool on a stable, at surface. Make sure the
tool cannot tip over.
Take care of the environment; make sure no hydraulic
oil leaks out. Use a drip pan.
Disconnect the hydraulic hoses, then the tool.
Contact an authorized service workshop.
IMPORTANT
Always pressurize
ROTOTILT®
to activate the
locking cylinder
after a tool change

Rototilt®may under no circumstances be connected other than as
prescribed.
Quick coupler, functions
Angle
The quick coupler attachment is offset 6°
to the tool ready for connection under
Rototilt®.
Extra
The extra function enables the use
of a connected hydraulic tool beneath
Rototilt®.
It also controls the oil ow to the
hydraulic connections See Operating
the Rototilt®, quick coupler in the
instructions for use for each control
system.
Indicator rod
The quick coupler has an indicator rod
that shows if the lock function is closed
or open. See gure, above left.
The indicator rod must be visible from
the operator’s position when the tool is
connected.
If the lock wedge/lock pistons are visible
from the operator’s position, the quick
coupler attachment is facing the wrong
way. See illustration on left.
Lighting
Selected models have and indicator lamp
that shows when the locking function is
in the open position.
Lighting facilitates tool connection.
Sensor
Selected models also have a sensor that
constantly monitors lock wedge position
and alerts if tool locking is incorrect.

position
English
EN
Before use, make sure nobody is within the base machine’s hazard area. People and property remain at
risk even when the product is used correctly.
At startup
Carry out daily checks; see Service.
Check the quick coupler locking function
and make sure it works properly in every
respect.
Maneuver the base machine and tool
using smooth movements. This achieves
greater precision and less wear.
Remain constantly on the lookout for
signs of degraded functions.
Use the quick coupler as intended and
within its capacity limits; see Limitations
and Technical data.
!
WARNING!
Faults detected during inspections must be remedied right away
so as not to impair tiltrotator function and reliability.
!
WARNING!
Do not use the tool if the quick coupler is not working properly.
Contact your dealer / maintenance service provider immediately if
you detect faults.
Operation
!
IMPORTANT - If the attachment can fall or change position
in connection with the procedure, there is a risk of damaging the
attachment and/or the machine coupler.
Attach the tool
Open the coupler and check that the
indication shows that the coupler is open.
Position the coupler so that its coupling
mechanism is correctly aligned with the
tool’s attachment frame.
Now slowly pivot the tool by extending
the bucket cylinder.
Adjust with small shaft or boom
movements if necessary.
Detach the tool
Position the tool horizontally, resting on
rm ground or so that the tool cannot
slide out of the attachment when the
quick coupler locks are opened.
When Rototilt® is pressurised
hydraulically the quick coupler locking
function is opened.
When the quick coupler’s locking wedge/
locking bolts are fully open, the tool can
be detached by slowly retracting the
bucket cylinder.

Locked position
Check for interference between grapple module and tool.
English
EN
Checking the quick coupler
locking function
Even if the indicator shows the locking
wedge to be in the locked position,
conduct the following checks to make
sure it is correctly secured:
Push the tool forward against the ground;
see gure on left.
In this position, extend and retract the
bucket to check that the locking wedge
has locked the tool correctly.
From the operator’s position, rotate the
quick coupler and check that the lock
wedge/lock pistons have engaged lock
position.
If you are still unsure, exit the cab and
perform a visual inspection.
After a tool change
Check that the quick coupler is securely
locked in the quick coupler attachment.
Always pressurize Rototilt®to activate
the lock cylinder.
See Operating the Rototilt®, quick coupler
in the instructions for use for each control
system.
Grapple module
Check that the tool used in combination
with Rototilt®does not interfere with the
grapple module.
In certain cases, it may be necessary to
adjust the tool.
See instructions for use for the grapple
module.

Service
Spare parts
Order spare parts through your dealer.
Always mention the type of quick coupler
and the tiltrotator manufacturing number
as stated on the information plate.
Only use original spare parts from Rototilt
Group AB. Rototilt Group AB assumes no
liability for the product if other spare parts
are used.
Consumable items
Regarding assembly paste, grease and
hydraulic oil, use the recommended
products.
Cleaning
Take care when cleaning. Avoid pressure
washers.
Use an oil drain pan when replacing
hydraulic oil. Hand in waste such as
hydraulic oil, hoses and similar for
recycling or destruction.
!
IMPORTANT – More extensive adjustments and repairs
must be carried out by an authorized service workshop. Contact
your supplier for information on service providers.
!
WARNING!
During service, maintenance or other work on the grapple,
disconnect the power and all the hydraulic hoses connected to
the base machine. Risk of personal injury; exercise caution!
!
IMPORTANT – If the tool is subjected to external damage it
must be removed from operation until inspection and any
necessary action is taken.
!
WARNING!
Take care of the environment. Use a drip pan to avoid harming
the environment.
Daily checks
Carry out checks and service before and
after use.
Keep the warning decals fully legible.
Clean the quick coupler and its
attachment from dirt; in the winter clean
away snow and ice.
Clean the quick connect ttings in the
quick coupler.
Check that there are no oil leaks.
Monthly checks
Check that the quick coupler and tool are
intact.
Check that there is no play in the lock
wedge/lock pistons.
Greasing
The S30 quick coupler has a locking
device that must be greased every
40 hours or whenever necessary.
See illustration on left.
The rotor seals must be greased every
40 hours.
See Service in the instructions for use for
the tiltrotator concerned.
!
IMPORTANT – As necessary, hose or wipe away sand, ice
and snow. This is especially important at temperatures below
freezing. Frozen materials may cause damage to piston rods,
connections and other quick coupler components.
!
WARNING!
Faults detected during inspections must be remedied right away
so as not to impair tiltrotator function and reliability.
