1. CLOSING SAFETY
Thespeciallockingmechanismallowspressure-cooking
only if the switch is properly turned to the “pressure
cookerlocked”position.
2. COOKING SAFETY
Whencookingbeginstheindicatorautomaticallyrises
sothatitisimpossibletoopenthecoveruntilpressure
isreduced.
Do not attempt to force the pressure cooker open when
the indicator has risen.
3. SAFETY VALVE
If the regulator is allowed to become blocked and
pressurecontinuestorise,asafetyvalvewillimmediately
release excess steam and reduce the temperature
inside the cooker. In this event, immediately turn off
the heat source and wait for the steam to stop. The
pressurecookerhastobecooleddownbyplacingitin
acontainerofcoldwateruntiltheindicatorgoesdown.
Whentheredindicatorhasgonedown,youwillbeable
toopenyourpressurecookersafely.Beforereusingyour
pressure cooker, clean the regulator as advised in the
maintenancesection.
4. PRESSURE RELEASE WINDOW
Ifintheveryunlikelyeventthe
safety valve fails to function,
a pressure release window
on the side of the cover will
automatically activate two
additional safety devices to
safelyventthesteam.
In this case do not reuse your pressure cooker
until you have had it checked by the Royal Prestige
Service Center.

Yourpressurecookeriscompatiblewithalltypesofcook
topsinusetoday.
•Ifyouuseagascooktop,theameshouldnotextend
furtherthanthebaseofthepressurecooker.
•Ifyouuseanyotherheatsource,makesurethatthe
diameteroftheplateissmallerthanorequaltothe
baseofthepressurecooker.
•Ifyouuseaninductioncooktop,makesurethatyour
pressure cooker is in the middle of the heat zone
markedontheplate.
• Never put your pressure cooker in an oven.
• Never use aluminum foil or plastic lm in the pressure
cooker. This may obstruct the regulator or the safety valve.
1. OPENING BEFORE USING (cold)
Placetheswitchon“open”
Turnthecovercounterclockwiseuntilthearrowsonthe
coverandthehandleslineup,andthenliftoffthelid.
2. BEFORE USE
Beforeusingyourpressurecookerforthersttime,besure
towashitthoroughly.Add1/4cupofvinegartohotsoapy
water,andwithaspongeordishcloth,washeachpiece.
3. OPERATING THE LID
Makesurethe gasket is rightside
upandcorrectlypositionedinthe
cover by following the diagram
below.
Turntheswitchtothe“Open”Position.
Placethelidonthe pressurecookerso
thatthetrianglesmarkedon thelidare
alignedwiththehandlesonthepot.
Turn the cover clockwise all the
way to the stop such that the
handleslineup.

4. FILLING THE PRESSURE COOKER
Neverllthepressurecookermorethantwothirdsfull.
For certain foods, lettuce, spinach, lentils, etc., which
expandorcausethewatertofrothwhencooking,donot
llpressurecookermorethanonethirdfull.
5. STEAMING
•Pouratleastacupofwaterintoyourpressurecooker.
•Thefoodinthesteamermustnotbestandinginwater.
•Theregulatorshouldbeinposition2.
•Whileyouarecookingyoushouldmakesurethatthe
regulator gives off a continual hissing sound, which
meansthatthereissufcientliquid.
6. COOKING
•Positiontheregulatorsothatarrowispointingtowards
speeds1or2andthenpressitdown.
•Ifyouusesalt,dissolverstusingaspoon.
•Selectthepositionyouwishtocookatbyswitchingto
Position1(slowcooking)orPosition2(quickcooking).
•Placethepressurecookerontheheatsource(which
should be turned up as high as possible unless the
recipespecicallystatesotherwise).Never put your
pressure cooker in an oven.
•Asaresultofthepressuretheindicatorwillriseand
causetheswitchtolock.
•When the steam escapes from the regulator,
accompaniedbyamildhissingnoise,startyourtimer.
You can turn down the heat, making sure you can
alwayshearahissingnoise.Cookingtimewillbejust
asquickandyouwillsaveonenergy.
•If you notice anything irregular in the functioning of
your pressure cooker, remove it from the heat source,
cool it down by immersing it in a container of cold
water, and consult the chapter entitled “PROBLEMS
AND SOLUTIONS”
7. SETTING THE TIMER
•Remove the timer by applying slight pressure to the
texturedpartofthetimerbelowthedisplay.Thiswill
causethetimertorotateinitshousingallowingyouto
graspandremoveit.Neverleavethetimeronthelid
whilecooking.
•Press the timer button briey to advance the time
minutebyminute.Pressthetimerbuttonandholdto
advancethetimefaster.
•To cancel or stop the timer, press the timer button
for3secondstoresetittozero.Thetimerwillstop
automaticallyafterafewsecondsofinactivity.

8. DECOMPRESSION
Assoonasyouhavenishedcooking:
•Turnofftheheatsource.
•If the pressure cooker is in position 2, switch it to
position1.
•Cool off your pressure cooker for
at least 1 minute by immersing it
inacontainerofcoldwaterbefore
removingtheregulator.
•Wait until the pressure indicator
hasgonedown.
If the indicator doesn’t go down,
don’t force the pressure cooker
open, but rather continue to cool it
off by immersing it again.
•Positiontheswitchon“open”,turn
thehandleandremovethelid.
•To move the pressure cooker, use only the handles.
Do not tip the pressure cooker; it contains very hot
liquid.

MAINTENANCE
1. CLEANING AFTER USE
Itisbestnottoleavefoodinthepressurecookerafter
cooking.Theacidityofcertainfoodsmaydamageand
discolorthestainlesssteel.
Washthepressurecookerinhotsoapywaterafterevery
use with a soft cloth or sponge. The pressure cooker
shouldneverbecleanedwithanabrasiveorchlorinated
productsuchasbleach.Iftherearecalciumdepositson
thepressure cooker, boil waterwith vinegar andrinse
carefully.
Never put the lid or the gasket in the dishwasher.
Never put the timer in the dishwasher or run under water.
Removethegasketfrom the coverand carefully clean
both in hot, soapy water after every use. Annual
replacementofthesealisrecommended.
Remove the regulator from its
socketandcleanregulator(1)
and regulator socket (2) after
everyuse.
Clean the valve indicator after
everyuse.
Ifresidualmatterisobstructingthelterofthevalveor
theregulator,removethemwiththehelpofaneedle.
Washthetimerwithasoftdrycloth.Donotuseasolvent,
donotpassunderwaterorinthedishwasher.
2. STORING
Whenstoringyourpressurecooker,removethegasket
and place it in the bottom of the cooker, turn the lid
upsidedownandplaceonthepressurecooker.Do not
leave the gasket on the lid.

•Makesurethattheregulatorisproperlyinplace.
•Makesurethatthegasketisproperlyinplace.
•Ifthegasketiswornout,replaceit.
