4. Indications for Use
The RPX®2020 powered inflatable tube massager is indicated for the
temporary relief of minor muscle aches and pains, and for temporary increase
in circulation to the treated areas in people who are in good health.
The RPX®2020 simulates kneading and stroking of tissues by using an
inflatable garment.
5. About RPX®2020
RPX®2020 is a Massage System intended for use by people in good health. As
noted above, RPX®2020 simulates the kneading and stroking action of manual
massage by use of an inflatable garment that fills and deflates, applying a
directional compress-and-release massage. This soothing massage action
temporarily increases circulation in the areas to which the garment is applied,
and temporarily relieves muscle aches and pain caused by fatigue or
overexertion.
The RPX®2020 Massage Cycle
The RPX®2020 console takes air from the room environment and sends it
through hoses into individual air chambers inside the RPX®2020 garment.
The air chambers in the RPX®2020 garment, are specially designed to overlap
each other for fluent, comfortable massage without gaps. You can adjust the
pressure level of the massage, treatment time, hold time, and the pause time
between inflation cycles.
The RPX®2020 console can operate one or two garments simultaneously.
RPX®2020 has five different treatment programs:
•Recover (Sequential cycle mode)
•Warm-up (Sequential cycle mode)
•Isolation (ISO cycle mode)
•Interval (Sequential cycle mode)
•Custom (Sequential, ISO, Wave, or Flow cycle mode)
Pretreatment (can be added to the beginning of the cycle mode selected in
the Custom program only)
These programs are described in the following sections.
!"#$$%&'()*. #

(+,-./$/$.01234.565(. (+.7819:;-. <;39.0=>?=4
Programs 1 and 2 - The Recover and Warm-up Programs
The Recover and Warm-up programs use the Sequential cycle mode that
applies a directional massage, starting at the base of the treated area, and
progresses upwards towards the torso and then releases (see Figure 1).
This applies a deep, slow massage.
•The Recover program is recommended for use after workout.
•The Warm-up program is recommended for use before workout.
Figure 1 - Sequential Cycle Mode
. !"#$$%&'()*"

Program 3 - The Isolation Program
The Isolation program uses the ISO cycle mode that applies a directional
massage to a smaller, user-selected area. The first chamber inflates, and after
a few seconds, the second chamber starts to inflate until both chambers reach
the set pressure. Then both chambers deflate, and after a pause the process
starts again (see Figure 2).
The user can select the pair of chambers (zones) to be inflated:
•Chambers 1 and 2 – Distal zone
•Chambers 2 and 3 – Mid zone
•Chambers 3 and 4 – Proximal zone
Figure 2 - ISO Cycle Mode
Program 4 - The Interval Program
The Interval program applies periods of treatment (Time On) using the
Sequential cycle mode (see Figure 1) alternated with intervals of no treatment
(Time Off).
Chambers 1 & 2 (Distal)
Chambers 2 & 3 (Mid)
Chambers 3 & 4 (Proximal)
!"#$$%&'()*. @$

(+,-./$/$.01234.565(. (+.7819:;-. <;39.0=>?=4
The periods of Time On alternate with intervals of Time Off for a Total
treatment time of up to 8 hours.
The user selects the Time On (in minutes), the Time Off (in minutes), and the
total Interval program run time (in hours).
Operating the console using Program 4 (Interval) runs treatment for the
selected Time On, and after treatment is completed, the console pauses for
the configured Time Off interval, and then automatically starts the same
treatment again, for the configured Total time.
During Time Off between treatments, the icon is displayed on the top left
corner of the screen.
Program 5 - The Custom Program
The custom program allows the user to select the Sequential cycle mode
(see Figure 1), ISO cycle mode (see Figure 2), Wave cycle mode (see Figure
3), or Flow cycle mode (see The Flow Cycle).
During treatment, the user can change the treatment parameters, but not the
selected cycle mode.
The Wave cycle mode starts at the base of the limb, over the foot or hand.
As the chamber at the front of the wave inflates, the chamber at the back of
the wave starts to deflate, so at any one time a small area is being
compressed.
Figure 3 - Wave Cycle Mode
. !"#$$%&'()*@@

The Flow Cycle
The Flow Cycle is described in the following table:
Sequence – instance of inflation and release
Progress – advancement of sequences
Four sequences exist. Each sequence is determined by the last chamber
inflated.
The Flow cycle has an associated Frequency parameter that determines
the number of sequences.
The user can set Frequency between 1 and 8. The default setting is 2.
Pretreatment
Pretreatment can be added to the beginning of the cycle mode set in the
Custom Program only.
Pretreatment treats the proximal areas first, decongesting them so that
they can receive the lymph fluid that is mobilized during the Sequential or
Peristaltic cycles. A specific pattern is applied, and the duration varies
according to garment size, lasting 5–12 minutes, with preselected
pressure of 30 mmHg that cannot be changed by the user.
The following diagram describes the progress of Pretreatment.

Sequence 1 is carried out six (6) times. Sequence 2 and Sequence 3 are

6. Components of the RPX®2020 System
The RPX®2020 737R Console
(see Figure 4)
The console takes air from the room environment and sends it to the individual
air chambers in the garment in a sequence that starts from the base of the
garment and continues to the top, according to the selected mode. The console
then vents the air from the garments, there is a brief pause, and the massage
cycle repeats.
The console is powered by either DC power adapter or by a rechargeable
battery inside the console. The battery can be charged while the console is
operated by electricity. The following table illustrates the battery power capacity
displayed by the status indicators.
Note:
•Turn On the Power Switch to enable charging the console.
•Turn Off the Power Switch to conserve battery power when not
charging or not using the console.

Prong Plug
(see Figure 5)
If you use only one garment, insert this plug into the unused air outlet on the
front of the RPX®2020 console, to seal it off and prevent air from escaping (see
Figure 22).
DC Power Adapter
(see Figure 6)
The DC Power Adapter receives 100–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz AC power and
supplies 12 VDC 3A to the console.
Battery Pack
(see Figure 7)
•The console can operate on battery power for more than two (2) hours when
fully charged.
•Battery may be charged during normal operation of the console.
•Battery charging time is up to 8 hours.
Caution:
