IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
USER MUST READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS MACHINE.
When using a machine, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
›Use the machine only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturers recommended attachments.
›For indoor, household use only.
›DO NOT leave machine unattended when plugged in or while it is powered on. Unplug the machine
when not in use and before cleaning or servicing.
›Use only Rug DoctorTM or Floor DoctorTM cleaning products intended for use with this machine. See
the cleaning product section of this manual.
›DO NOT immerse. Use only on surfaces moistened by the cleaning process.
›DO NOT use machine as a vacuum.
›This machine is designed to clean normally soiled carpets in two (2) cleaning passes, except Berber
multi-level or looped carpets
›DO NOT use more than four (4) cleaning passes on any area of carpet as overwetting and damage
may result which could include permanent staining of carpet.
›Use caution when using hot tap water. Do not boil or microwave water to be used in this machine.
›DO NOT allow the machine to run dry. When the solution tank runs out, stop using and follow
directions to refill.
›DO NOT allow this machine to be used as a toy. Close attention and adult supervision is necessary
when used by or near children. This machine is not intended to be used by children age 12 and under.
DO NOT allow children to place their body parts in or near openings or moving parts.
›DO NOT use with damaged cord or plug. If this machine is not working as it should, has been
damaged by dropping or has been left outdoors; stop using and take it to a service center.
›DO NOT pull by the cord, carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, nor
pull the cord around sharp edges or corners.
›DO NOT run machine over the cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
›DO NOT unplug by pulling on the cord. Unplug by pulling on the plug.
›DO NOT handle the plug or use this machine with wet or sweaty hands.
›DO NOT put any objects into opening. DO NOT use the machine if any opening is blocked. Keep
openings free of dust, lint, hair and anything that could reduce air flow.
›Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
›Turn off all controls before unplugging.
›Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
›DO NOT use to pick up flammable or combustible materials or liquids such as gasoline, or certain
paints. DO NOT use in areas where they may be present.
›DO NOT use to pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
›DO NOT place in or pick up anything with this machine that is a caustic or toxic material, such as
bleach, ammonia, toilet bowl cleaners or drain cleaners.
›DO NOT clean over floor electrical outlets.
›The use of an extension cord is not recommended. Failure to follow this instruction may expose the
user to the possibility of electric shock, personal loss or injury and/or death.
›DO NOT operate without tanks or in any manner inconsistent with the above warnings or the
operating instructions included in this manual.
›Always turn off this machine before connecting or disconnecting either hose, wands or motorized
nozzle.
›The attachments hose contains electric wires. DO NOT use or repair a damaged hose. DO NOT use
when the hose is cut or punctured. Avoid picking up sharp objects.
›The attachments hose is to be examined periodically for visible deterioration, such as abrasions,
cracks, splits and the like.
›The attachments hose is to be used only for indoor household cleaning applications using only
manufacturer’s recommended cleaning solutions.
›Always ensure float is properly installed before any wet pick-up operation.
›Product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other
reproductive harm.
›Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See “Grounding Instructions.”
WARNING
TO REDUCE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
WARNING
Improper connection of equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk
of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you
are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify
the plug provided with the machine—If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper
outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This machine is for use on a nominal
120-volt circuit and has a grounded plug that looks like the plug illustrated
in Figure A. Make sure that the machine is connected to an outlet having the
same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used with this machine.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This machine must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown,
grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to
reduce the risk of electric shock. This machine is equipped with a cord
having an equipment grounding conductor and grounding plug. The
plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed
and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

EMPTYING Dirty water tank
How to Use:
The Dirty Water
tank is the tank
located on the
front of the
machine.
Remove the Easy
Lift Caddy
Lower the Main Handle.
Release both Easy Lift
Caddy Locks on the
back of the machine. The
Easy Lift Caddy may be
used to transport both
tanks for easy filling and
emptying of tanks.
Replace the Easy Lift Caddy
Place the front end of the
Easy Lift Caddy back onto
the machine, making sure
that latches (on the front
end of the Easy Lift Caddy)
engage with the holes in the
machine base.
Lower the back of the Caddy
to sit on the machine base,
and secure with the Easy Lift
Caddy Locks.
Push the Dirty Water
Tank Release Button
and pull the tank in
an outward motion to
release tank.
Rinse out the
Dirty Water Tank
with warm water
and screw lid
back on tank.
Securely place
the Dirty Water
Tank back onto
the machine. You
will hear a click
sound when the
tank has locked
into place.

Remove water tanks.
Gently position the machine on
its back to access the Brush Roll.
Add Cleaning Solution & Water
Fill the tank with HOT tap
water until it reaches the fill
line and add Rug Doctor
cleaning solution (follow
instructions on cleaning
solution bottle).
See full instructions on page 8.
Tightly screw the cap back
onto the tank.
Remove the Jam
Gently remove jammed
item from the Brush Roll.
Once jammed item
is removed, place
the machine upright,
replace both tanks,
plug in machine and
press Power Button to
Carpet mode to continue
cleaning.
Now You’re
Ready to Clean!
Place the full Clean
Water Tank back onto
the machine. You will
hear a click sound
when the tank has
locked into place.
INDICATOR LIGHTS
The Pro Deep Carpet Cleaner is equipped with a helpful indicator light system
designed to quickly alert you of issues while cleaning. The Pro Deep Carpet Cleaner
has exclusive “Brush Jam” and “Solution Empty” Indicator Lights.
The Brush Jam Indicator Light is triggered when
every-day items (such as socks, small toys etc.)
become lodged in the Brush Roll, jamming and
preventing the Brush Roll from spinning. When the
machine detects a jam, the brush motor will shut off
and the Brush Jam Indicator Light will illuminate.
The Brush Jam Indicator Light system protects the
machine and prevents belt burn-out.
The Solution Empty Indicator Light is triggered
when the water level in the Clean Water Tank
is depleted. The Solution Empty Indicator Light
system protects the machine and prevents pump
burn-out from the machine running dry.
CAUTION
Check the Power
Button to make
sure the machine
is in the “off”
position.
NOTE: DO NOT pour into
sink or tub. Dirty water
should be poured into
toilet or outside.
Unscrew the
Wide Opening
Lid on the back
of the tank and
pour out the
dirty water.

CLEANING AND STORING MACHINE TROUBLESHOOTING
The following Troubleshooting guide is provided to help you resolve issues
that may arise with common usage of the machine.
Press Dirty Water Tank and Clean Water Tank
Release Buttons and pull tanks outward.

access to Brush Roll access panel.
4. Remove four screws located on the
brush roll panel.
5. Lift Brush Roll through side of machine.
6. Insert and slide in clean Brush Roll.
7. Replace Brush Roll access panel and
secure with screws.
8. Place machine upright and replace tanks.

Warranty Information
Five (5) Year Limited Consumer Warranty
Rug Doctor gives the original purchaser, who retains proof of purchase, from Rug Doctor or an authorized Rug
Doctor dealer, this limited warranty (“Warranty”) for your Rug Doctor Pro Deep Carpet Cleaner acquired for
normal household use (commercial or rental use is excluded). You are responsible to notify Rug Doctor within
thirty (30) days of original purchase if any parts or components are missing on your Rug Doctor Pro Deep carpet
cleaning machine.
What Does This Warranty Cover / How Long Does The Warranty Last
Rug Doctor will, for the original purchaser, with proof of purchase, repair or replace including labor, any part that
is defective in material or workmanship within five (5) years of purchase; five(5) years on outer housing parts.
This warranty applies to machines used for normal household purposes only.
What The Warranty Does Not Cover
The following exclusions apply to machine and part(s) failures due to: 1) normal wear and tear; 2) machine
alterations and 3) abuse or misuse of the machine, including use not in accordance with this “User Manual.”
This warranty does not provide for a refund of the purchase price. For best operating efficiency and cleaning,
use of only Rug Doctor products is recommended. Use of the machine for rental voids the warranty and is not
permitted under Federal Law (see “Unauthorized Use” statement below). Commercial use is excluded under
this warranty except as set forth in the “ONE YEAR LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY” below. Rug Doctor is
not liable for any consequential or incidental damages of any nature involving the purchase/use of your carpet
cleaning machine. In no event shall Rug Doctor’s liability exceed the purchase price of the machine. Some states
do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or
exclusions may not apply to you.
Expenses
If a machine is returned to a repair center for repair within thirty (30) days of original purchase, Rug Doctor
will pay the freight charges both to a repair center and back to you. Thereafter, you will be required to ship

carton and packing materials.

Use of this carpet cleaning machine with Rug Doctor trademarks for rental purposes is UNAUTHORIZED and is
in violation of U.S.C. Section 1114(I) and 15 U.S.C. Section 1125(a).
One (1) Year Limited Commercial Warranty
All of the warranty terms as expressed above shall apply in all respects, for the original United States
purchaser of a Rug Doctor Pro Deep Carpet Cleaner, who purchases/uses the machine commercially (not in
household use), except that the limited warranty period for the defects in material or workmanship as well
as housing parts for commercial use machines shall be one (1) year. You can register your Rug Doctor Pro

El Pro Deep Carpet Cleaner está equipado con un útil sistema de luces indicadoras
diseñado para alertarle rápidamente sobre los problemas durante la limpieza. El
Pro Deep Carpet Cleaner tiene luces indicadoras exclusivas de “Cepillo atascado”
y “Solución vacía”.
La luz indicadora de cepillo atascado se activa
cuando los artículos cotidianos (como calcetines,
juguetes pequeños, etc.) se atascan en el rodillo
del cepillo, bloqueando y evitando que el rodillo del
cepillo gire. Cuando la máquina detecta un atasco,
el motor del cepillo se apagará y se encenderá la
luz indicadora de cepillo atascado. El sistema de
indicador de cepillo atascado protege a la máquina
y evita que se desgaste la correa.
La luz indicadora de solución vacía se activa
cuando está agotado el nivel de agua en el tanque
de agua limpia. El sistema de luz indicadora de
solución vacía protege a la máquina y evita que
la bomba se queme cuando la máquina funciona
en seco.

Garantía limitada de cinco (5) años para el cliente
Rug Doctor brinda al comprador original, que conserva el comprobante de compra de Rug Doctor o de
un distribuidor autorizado de Rug Doctor, esta garantía limitada (“garantía”) para su Rug Doctor Pro Deep
Carpet Cleaner adquirida para el uso doméstico normal (el uso comercial o de alquiler está excluido). Usted es
responsable de notificar a Rug Doctor, dentro de un período de treinta (30) días a partir de la fecha de compra
original, si falta alguna pieza o componente de su máquina de limpieza Rug Doctor Pro Deep .
Qué cubre esta garantía/cuánto tiempo dura la garantía
Para el comprador original, Rug Doctor reparará o reemplazará, incluida la mano de obra, cualquier pieza que se
encuentre defectuosa en cuanto a los materiales o el trabajo dentro de un período de cinco (5) años a partir de
la fecha de compra; cinco (5) años en cuanto a las partes externas de la carcasa. Esta garantía solo se aplica a
máquinas utilizadas para fines domésticos normales.
Qué no cubre la garantía
Las siguientes exclusiones se aplican a las fallas de la máquina y de las piezas debido a: 1) el desgaste normal; 2)
modificaciones de la máquina; y 3) el abuso o uso indebido de la máquina, incluido el uso que no concuerde con
este “Manual del usuario”. Esta garantía no estipula un reembolso del precio de compra. Para obtener una mejor
eficiencia operativa y limpieza, se recomienda solo el uso de productos de Rug Doctor. El uso de la máquina
para alquiler anula la garantía y no está permitido en virtud de la Ley Federal (consultar la declaración sobre
“Uso no autorizado” detallada a continuación). El uso comercial está excluido en virtud de esta garantía excepto
según lo establecido en la “GARANTÍA COMERCIAL LIMITADA DE UN AÑO”, a continuación. Rug Doctor no es
responsable de ningún daño emergente o fortuito de ninguna naturaleza relacionado con la compra/el uso de

En caso de que una máquina sea devuelta a un centro de servicios por garantía para reparaciones dentro de un
período de treinta (30) días a partir de la fecha de compra original, Rug Doctor pagará los gastos de transporte
de ida al centro de servicios y los gastos de retorno a su domicilio. A partir de ese momento, se le pedirá que
envíe la máquina a un centro de reparación de Rug Doctor si se requieren reparaciones adicionales después del
período inicial de garantía de treinta (30) días. Usted será responsable de pagar cualquier gasto de transporte
para los envíos hasta un centro de servicios para las reparaciones que se realicen después del período inicial de
treinta (30) días. Rug Doctor pagará los gastos de retorno hasta su domicilio.
