IMPORTANT:
The INTELLIBOOST sensor will not turn green until a draw is recognized. This is designed to ensure a proper
connection with no accidental power discharge.
Do not crank the engine for more than 4 seconds (continuously) while the unit is connected to the battery, as
this may cause damage to the jump starter.
Please read your vehicle’s owners manual prior to jump starting any vehicle to ensure that all safety
precautions regarding the vehicle have been followed.
While it may be possible to jumpstart a vehicle with a charge level below 60%, a much more powerful boost
is available at higher charge levels. Boosting with a charge below 40% is not advisable as it may cause harm
to the RG500 and void your warranty.
JUMPSTARTING A VEHICLE
60%
Step 1: Make sure that your RG500 has at least a 60%
charge. The higher the charge level, the more available
boosting power.
Step 2: Lift the rubber cover and plug the INTELLIBOOST
cables into the RG500.
Step 3: Connect the Red Clamp to the positive “+” terminal
and the black clamp to the negative “-” terminal of the
battery of the vehicle needing a boost.
Step 5: Remove the INTELLIBOOST cables from the battery
of the vehicle being boosted and then unplug them from the
booster. Ensure that the unit is turned off to save battery life.
Step 4: Turn the vehicle ignition to the “ACC” (Accessory)
position for (2) seconds, or until the INTELLIBOOST indicator
light turns green. Then turn the ignition to “START” to start
the vehicle.

cable designed for your device.

charging ports “OUTPUT 5.0V/2.1A” on the RG500.
Step 3: Plug the other end of the 4-in-1 USB cable into the
device in need of charging.
Step 4: Switch the RG500 to “ON” (A), and short press the

if you are unsure.
Step 2: Insert the laptop charging cable into the laptop
charging port “OUTPUT” of the RG500.
Step 3: Turn the RG500 to “ON” (A), then press the “CIRCLE”
button (B). Each short press of the “CIRCLE” button will
toggle the output voltage from 12V to 16V to 19V. Please
be sure that the correct output as determined in step 1 is
shown on the LCD display.
Step 4: Insert the other end of the laptop charging cable into
your laptop charging port.

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The INTELLIBOOST cables won’t
stop beeping and I can’t get it
to boost my vehicle.
The INTELLIBOOST cables have
detected an error.
Reset the INTELLIBOOST cables
by unplugging them from the
RG500 and disconnect the
cables from the battery you
were attempting to boost. Plug
the cables back into the RG500
prior to connecting them to the
vehicle in need of boost.
The light on the INTELLIBOOST
cable won’t turn green, but they
are connected properly.
The cables do not detect a
sufficient draw.
For the majority of vehicles,
simply turning the vehicle to
“ACC” or Accessory mode will
initiate enough of a draw to turn
the light green and allow you to
boost. For certain lower draw
vehicles without any accessory
draw, often just attempting to
start the vehicle will initiate
the draw needed. If that still
does not work, it is possible the
draw sensed from the vehicle
is not compatible with the
INTELLIBOOST feature. On these
vehicles, often turning on a light
or other type of draw, may work.
I connected the INTELLIBOOST
cables to the wrong terminals
on the battery of the vehicle I
am boosting and now the light
is red and it’s beeping, did I
wreck it?
Reverse polarity connection of
the booster cables
Don’t worry... you are safe.
The INTELLIBOOST cables are
designed to not spark or cause
any damage if the cables are
accidentally hooked up in
reverse. Simply connect the
cables properly using the steps
outlined in this manual.
I have my USB device plugged in,
but it won’t charge?
No power is being output from
the RG500.
Ensure the proper cable is being
utilized. Ensure the switch is
in the “on” position and the
circle button has been pressed
to initiate charge.
