TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
I cannot turn on ROBOYAGI.
ROBOYAGI has a blank
display.
Incorrect setup procedure
Over-the-Air (OTA) update
failure
Follow the setup instructions, ensuring that the mower is
plugged into the powered dock before starting.
Perform OTA update using the ROBOYAGI app again.
Ensure that the battery is installed securely (listen for the
click).
If the issue persists, contact an authorised RYOBI service
centre.
ROBOYAGI is not cutting,
and screen is blank.
Incorrect starting of the
product
Always start or resume the mower after pressing the stop
button or if changes have been made to the settings.
ROBOYAGI is inside the
perimeter, but an error
indicates that the mower is
outside the boundary wire
loop.
Wire-to-charging station
connection method
Incorrect wire setup
Please refer to the Setup sheet or the “Installing the
charging station and boundary wire” section of the
manual.
If issue continues, switch the wire connections on the
charging station terminals (T1, T2).
ROBOYAGI is not working
correctly when installed next
to another robotic mower.
 Please ensure that there is a minimum space of 1.5 m
between boundary wires.
RYOBI cannot guarantee full compatibility between
ROBOYAGI and other nearby robotic mower installations,
or other wired systems (e.g. animal fencing).
ROBOYAGI does not start
cutting.
Battery / schedule Make sure that the battery is fully charged.
Please check your schedule settings (manual cut mode
should always work).
Make sure that the door is fully closed.
ROBOYAGI is not docking. Improperly installed wire It is possible that ROBOYAGI may take a few attempts
to dock.
If ROBOYAGI is not docking, ensure that:
- Docking path is not obstructed.
- Charging socket is clean with no blockages.

- Wire is threaded through the middle of the charging pad.
- Wire extends 1 m straight at 90° to the front of the
charging pad.
- Wire extends at least 30 cm at 90° to the rear of the
charging station
Please refer to the “Installing and connecting the charging
station” section of the manual.
ROBOYAGI is not
undocking.
Obstruction or friction Ensure that there are no obstructions preventing
ROBOYAGI from backing up out of the dock.

Bump sensor calibration This happens if the bump sensors do not automatically
return to their natural state. It is a normal auto-correctible
behaviour and requires no action.

certain obstacles, such as
trampolines, swings, trees
with exposed roots.
Boundary wire improper
setup
Route the boundary wire around the obstacles.

manual.

Grass is cut unevenly. Damaged or worn out blades
Irregular cutting schedule
Review the boundary layout, referring to the manual for
guidance.
Add up to 3 other variable start points to ensure that all
parts of the lawn are cut evenly and regularly.
You may need to extend the schedule to ensure regular
cutting of all areas.
Check and replace blades, referring to manual for
guidance.
Check the cutting height settings.
ROBOYAGI is not charging. Charging port connection
problem
Battery is fully charged
Ensure that the LED indicator of the charging station is


or tracks appearing on my
lawn.
Running the mower for too
long
Give the lawn time to rest and regrow before cutting.
Review and reduce your cutting schedule if necessary.
Mowing regularly in wet conditions may accelerate visible
tracks.
Some areas of my lawn are
not being cut often.
Mower settings Review the boundary wire layout, referring to the manual
for guidance.
Add up to 3 other variable start points to ensure that all
parts of the lawn are cut evenly and regularly.
Experiment with changing the exit angle range on your
mower settings.
If still not cutting regularly, you may need to move your
mower into the area manually from time to time to ensure
cutting.
PIN code error Incorrect PIN Ensure that the correct PIN code is entered on the
security screen.
If the PIN code has been forgotten, contact an authorised
RYOBI service centre.
ROBOYAGI does not cut the
complete perimeter.
Obstacles on the lawn Ensure that no obstacles are blocking the perimeter path
(e.g. toys).
Always ensure that the charging station is not obstructed.
The selector knob has
stopped working.
Hardware error Please contact an authorised RYOBI service centre.
There is a red light on LED
indicator of the charging
station.

The blades are not turning
freely.
Dirty or damaged blades Clean the blades frequently, following the guide in the
manual.
If you notice the blades are worn or damaged, please
replace.
The ROBOYAGI is noisier

Blades / motors Check and clean the blades. If you notice the blades are
worn or damaged, replace them.
Check and clean the wheel and around the wheel axles
if necessary.

Unable to log in to app App setup Ensure that you have completed the registration process,

        
check your junk/spam folder. If the email is still not
received, contact RYOBI through the website or an
authorised RYOBI service centre.
I can’t connect ROBOYAGI
to my home Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi settings Ensure that a Wi-Fi Network is available in the work area.
ROBOYAGI works on a 2.4 GHz frequency.
Refer to the Wi-Fi Setup procedure in the manual.
If AUTO method does not work, please review your
settings and password, or try the Manual method of
connection.
App shows that ROBOYAGI
is disconnected.
Communication issue
between ROBOYAGI and the
app
Ensure that the mower is on and displays a Wi-Fi signal
on the screen dashboard.
Select Start before following instructions to close the
control panel cover.
Ensure that the most current version of the ROBOYAGI
app is installed.
If issue persists, contact RYOBI through the website or an
authorised RYOBI service centre.
Roboyagi is docked but
battery is not charging.
Battery temperature has
exceeded 45 °C.
Allow the battery to cool down. The battery automatically
starts charging again when the temperature has reduced.

38 My Bump Sensor has an alert. Check that ROBOYAGI is not stuck, move to a new area
and restart the mower.
If issue persists, contact an authorised RYOBI service
centre.
39 My lift sensor has been triggered. Check that ROBOYAGI is not stuck against an obstacle,
move to a new area, and restart the mower.
If issue persists, contact an authorised RYOBI service
centre.
40-41 My tilt sensor has been triggered. Check that ROBOYAGI is not tilted or upside down.

Check that all slopes are within 20°.
If issue persists, contact an authorised RYOBI service
centre.
42 I am unable to leave the charging
station.
Check that the route in/out of charging station is not
obstructed.
Check that ROBOYAGI’s charging socket is not stuck
against the charging station port .

If issue persists, contact an authorised RYOBI service
centre.
44 I am stuck. Check that the mower is not stuck in a hole, and that the
rear wheels are touching the ground.

