Safety, performance, and dependability have been given
top priority in the design of your electric log splitter.
INTENDED USE
The log splitter is designed to split wooden material along
the grain. The logs or similar work pieces must be 200 mm
to 520 mm in length and 100 mm to 250 mm in diameter.
The log splitter is intended to be used only by adults who
have read and understood the instructions and warnings
in this manual and can be considered responsible for their
actions.
The log splitter is intended to be used only in dry, well-
illuminated, and uncluttered work areas and it must be
adequately controlled by using two-handed operation.
The log splitter is not designed to split across the grain or
for processing any other material except wood.

moving parts. Rubber gloves and nonskid footwear are
recommended when working outdoors. Secure long hair
so it is above shoulder level to prevent entanglement in
moving parts.
■To help reduce the risk of injury from falling work pieces,
the operator should wear footwear with hardened toe
protection.
■Wear full eye protection at all times while operating this
product. The manufacturer strongly suggests a full face
mask or fully enclosed goggles. Normal spectacles or
sun glasses are not adequate protection.
■Ensure before each use that all controls and safety
devices function correctly. Do not use the product if the
“off” switch does not stop the motor.
■Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite accidents.
Do not leave tools or pieces of wood on the product
while it is in operation. Keep the operator zone and
adjacent area clear for safe, secure footing.
■Make sure the work area has ample lighting to see the
work and that no obstructions will interfere with safe
operation before using the product.
■Make sure the product is on a level surface.
■Before use, check that there are no damaged parts. A
defective switch or any part that is damaged should be
properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service
facility.
■Check damaged parts. Before further use of the
product, a guard or other part that is damaged should
be carefully checked to determine that it will operate
properly and perform its intended function. Check for
alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts, mounting and any other conditions
that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that
is damaged must be properly repaired or replaced by
an authorized service center to avoid risk of personal
injury.
■Before each use inspect all hydraulic pipes and hoses,
any oil leakage should be proper repaired; check oil
level to ensure it is in normal capacity.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
■Power plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the
plug in any way. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock.
■Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces,
such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body
is earthed or grounded.
■Do not expose this product to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering an appliance will increase the risk of
electric shock.
■Electrical power should be supplied via a residual
current device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more
than 30 mA.
■Before every use, examine the power cord for damage.
If there are signs of damage, it must be replaced by at
an authorised service centre. Always uncoil the power
cord during use; coiled cables can overheat.
■If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect
the cord from the power supply immediately. Do not
touch the cord before disconnecting the power
supply. Do not use the product if the cord is damaged
or worn.
■If you need to use an extension cord, ensure it is
suitable for outdoor use and has a current capacity
rating sufficient to supply your tool. Check the extension
cord before every use for damage. Always uncoil the
extension cord during use because coiled cords can
overheat. Damaged extension cords should not be
repaired, they should be replaced with an equivalent
type.
■Make sure the power cord is positioned so that it will not

2
be stepped on, tripped over or otherwise subjected to
damage or stress.
■Never pull by the power cord to disconnect from the
power supply.
■Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, and sharp
edges.
■Always direct the cable to the rear away from the
machine.
■Make sure the voltage is correct for your product. A
nameplate on the product indicates the unit’s voltage.
Never connect the product to an AC voltage that differs
from this voltage.
LOG SPLITTER SAFETY WARNINGS
■Only one person is permitted to use the product. Never
allow another person to help you with freeing a jammed
log.
■Never use in an explosive atmosphere. Normal
sparking of the motor could ignite fumes.
■Keep proper footing and balance at all time. Don’t
overreach.
■Never stand on log splitter. Serious injury could occur if
the tool is tipped or if the cutting tools is unintentionally
contacted.
■Always pay full attention to the movement of the log
pusher. Do not attempt to load the log on until the log
pusher has stopped. Keep hands out of the way of all
moving part.
■To reduce the risk of injury associated with contacting
moving parts, always stop the product, and disconnect
from the power supply, and make sure all moving parts
have come to a stop:
●before cleaning
●when leaving the product unattended
●before making adjustments
●before sharpening the wedge
●before checking, maintenance, or working on the
product
●before replacing the hydraulic oil
■Never operate the log splitter until the bleed screw has
been slightly loosened (one to two full turns).
WARNING
Failure to loosen the bleed screw will keep the sealed
air in hydraulic system from being compressed after
decompression. Such continuous air compression and
decompression will blow out the seals of the hydraulic
system and cause permanent damage to the log splitter..
OPERATION
■The log splitter must be operated by both hands of
the user - Left hand controls the hydraulic control
lever while right hand controls the push button. The
log splitter will not function when either hand is not in
the correct position. Only after both hands release the
controls will the log pusher start to return back to the
starting position.
■Before performing splitting operations, start the product
by pressing the motor run button. Move the direction
control lever. This will cause the pressure plate to move.
Ensure that by releasing either the motor run button or
the direction control lever, the motion of the pressure
plate stops. Do not use the product if this safety feature
does not operate properly.
■The wood should be straight along its length with no
kinks, forks, or protrusions. Branches should be cut
off. Attempting to split wood that does not meet these
criteria may cause the work piece to skew off line or
unexpectedly fall from the machine.
■Both ends of the work piece should be cut straight
and perpendicular to the length. Failure to prepare this
properly may cause the work piece to skew off line
during the splitting process.
■Remove all foreign objects such as nails, screws, etc.,
and beware of knots and twisted grain in the wood.
These make the wood harder to split and can cause the
splitting process to deviate from its intended course and
push the work piece out of its proper position.
WARNING
Never force the log splitter for more than 5 seconds by
keeping pressure on it to split excessively hard wood.
■For extremely hard log, rotate it by 90° to see whether
it can be split in a different direction. In any case, if you
are not able to split the log, this means that its hardness
exceeds the capacity of the product and thus, the log
should be discarded to protect the log splitter.
■If the wood does not completely split or becomes
jammed on the fixed wedge, release the pressure
on the wood by retracting the moving pressure plate.
Follow the graphical instructions on pages 13 and 14.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
■Stop the product, disconnect from the power supply,
and make sure all moving parts have come to a stop.
■Close the bleed screw.
■Clean debris from the product, particularly the motor
ventilation area.
■Store the product is a cool, dry, and well-ventilated
place that is in accessible to unauthorised persons and
children, and where it cannot fall over and cause injury
or damage.
■For transportation in a vehicle, secure the product
against falling or sliding around to prevent injury and
damage.

and around the motor to ensure adequate ventilation.
Use a soft brush for cleaning.
■Before each use, check the oil level and fill if necessary
using hydraulic oil. Follow the procedure shown in the
Getting started section.
■The manufacturer recommends to change the hydraulic
oil every 150 hours of use, or if the oil appears dirty or
contaminated while checking the oil level.
