instruction or warnings they give are not substitutes for proper
accident prevention measures.
SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL. Indicates caution or
warning. May be used in conjunction with other
symbols or pictures.
WARNING: Failure to obey a safety warning can
result in serious injury to yourself or to others.
Always follow the safety precautions to reduce the

BODY CONTACT WITH GROUNDED SURFACES. For
example, pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures.

invite accidents.
4. AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT. Don't use power tools
in damp or wet locations or expose to rain. Keep work area
well lit.

foreign objects being thrown into your
eyes, which can result in severe eye

refinement policy, product features
and specifications can and will
change without notice. Check
current features and specifications
with your retailer.

1. KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE AND IN WORKING ORDER.
Never wedge or tie lower blade guard open. Check operation
of lower blade guard before each use. Do not operate if lower
blade guard does not close briskly over saw blade.
WARNING: If saw is dropped, lower blade guard may be bent,
restricting full return. If lower blade guard becomes bent or
damaged, replace it before use.
2. DON’T ABUSE CORD. Never carry the tool by the cord or
yank it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep cord away from
heat, oil and sharp edges.
3. SECURE WORK. Use clamp or a vise to hold work piece.
Use both hands when operating the tool.
4. AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING. Don’t carry plugged-in tool
with finger on switch. Be sure switch is off when plugging in.
5. OUTDOOR USE EXTENSION CORDS. When tool is used
outdoors, use only extension cords intended for use outdoors
and so marked.
6. KEEP BLADES CLEAN AND SHARP. Sharp blades
minimise stalling and kickback.
7. KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM CUTTING AREA. Keep hands
away from blades. Do not reach underneath work while blade
is rotating. Do not attempt to remove cut material when blade
is moving. WARNING: Blades coast after turning off.
8. INSPECT TOOL CORDS PERIODICALLY. If damaged, have
repaired by authorised service centre. Stay constantly aware
of cord location and keep it well away from rotating blade.
9. USE RIP FENCE. Always use a fence or straight edge guide
when ripping.
10.BEFORE MAKING A CUT. Be sure the depth and bevel

SAFETY LOCK-OFF SWITCH
Your Ryobi saw is fitted with a safety Lock-Off switch to help
prevent accidental saw start ups. To operate saw press the Safety
Lock-Off switch while pressing the trigger switch. Always let the
blade reach full speed, then guide the saw into the work.
APPLICATIONS
(use only for the following purposes)
Cutting all types of timber product (wood, plywood, paneling)
Ask your local dealer for more detail if required
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Your circular saw has a precision built electric motor. It should
be connected to a power supply that is 240volts, 50-60Hz only.
Do not operate this tool on direct current (DC). A substantial
voltage drop will cause a loss of power and overheating. If your
saw does not operate when plugged into an outlet, have a
qualified electrician double check the power supply.

Lock-off switch

OPERATION
1. REMOVAL AND REFITTING THE SAW BLADE (Fig 1.)
Unplug the saw.
Press in the blade lock button and rotate blade until the blade
locking pin activates and the blade will no longer rotate. While
still pressing the blade lock button, remove the blade bolt using
the allen key, rotating anti-clockwise. Remove the blade bolt
and outer washer. The blade can now be removed.
2. LOCK-OFF BUTTON
The lock-off button provides a safety measure to prevent the
saw from being accidentally switched on.The trigger switch
can only be depressed. When the switch is released, the lock-
off button is automatically re-engaged, preventing inadvertent
operation of the saw.
3. MOTOR HOUSING
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has
entered the grills at the rear of the motor housing. Use a soft
brush to remove any accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses
to protect your eyes whilst cleaning.
4. BEVEL ANGLE LOCKING LEVER (Fig 2.)
CAUTION. Always ensure that the saw is switched off and
unplugged from the power supply before making any
adjustments.
To adjust the cutting angle loosen the angle locking lever
located at the front of the base plate. Tilt the body of the saw
until the required angle is reached using the quadrant scale
as a guide.
For accurate work, it is necessary to make a trial cut, measure
the work and reset the angle until the correct setting is
achieved. Tighten the locking lever to secure the base plate.
5. LOWER BLADE GUARD
As the saw advances through the work piece, the pivoting
lower blade guard is pushed back by the edge of the work to
expose only that part of the blade which is needed. When
the blade clears the work, the spring-loaded lower blade
guard snaps back to completely enclose the blade.
6. DEPTH LOCKING LEVER (Fig 3.)
CAUTION. Always ensure that the saw is switched off and
unplugged from the power supply before making any
adjustments.
To adjust the cutting depth of the saw, first turn the saw so
that it is facing away from you. Next loosen the depth locking
lever. Now, hold the base plate flat against the edge of the
work piece and lift the body of the saw until the blade is at
the right depth. Finally, tighten the depth locking lever.
WARNING: Your saw should never be connected
to the power supply when you are assembling
parts, making adjustments, assembling or
removing blades, cleaning, or when not in use.
Disconnecting your saw will prevent accidental
starting that could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING: 190mm blade is the maximum blade
capacity of your saw. Never use a blade that is
too thick to allow outer blade washer to engage
with the flat on the spindle. Larger blades will
come in contact with the blades guards, while
thicker blades will prevent blade bolt from
securing blade on spindle correctly. Either of
these situations could result in serious personal
injury.
WARNING: Failure to unplug your saw could
result in accidental starting causing possible
serious personal injury

Fig 1. Fig 3.

OPERATION
7. DUST EXTRACTION PORT
The dust extraction port allows a dust extraction system or
standard vacuum cleaner nozzle to be fitted to the saw
permitting the efficient removal of dust whilst the tool is in
use.
8. QUADRANT SCALE
The quadrant scale shows the angle to which the base plate
is tilted.
9. PARALLEL FENCE GUIDE (Fig 4.)
The parallel fence guide allows you to make parallel cuts in
a length of wood. CAUTION. Always ensure that the saw is
switched off and unplugged from the power supply before
making any adjustments. Slide the fence guide into the slot
in the base plate.
Adjust the guide to the required width and secure it in position
with the locking knob. Ensure that the guide rests against
the wood along its entire length to give a consistent parallel
cut.
10.PARALLEL FENCE LOCKING KNOB
The locking knob is used to secure the parallel fence guide
to the base plate.
11. BASE PLATE
The base plate should be kept flat against the work piece
when making a cut. It can be tilted to change the angle of
cut.
12.BLADE GUARD LEVER
The blade guard lever can be used to lift the blade guard
clear of the work when plunge cutting.
13.UPPER BLADE GUARD
The fixed guard encloses the upper part of the blade.
14.RIVING KNIFE (Fig 5.)
The riving knife is positioned behind the saw blade. It prevents
freshly cut timber from closing up onto the blade. The riving
knife should always be positioned central to and in line with
the blade and adjusted so that the distance between the riving
knife and the toothed rim of the saw blade is even along the
curve of the blade and not more than 5mm wide.
To adjust the position of the riving knife first lower the base
plate and lift the lower blade guard using the blade guard
Fig 4.
lever. This allows access to the two screws that secure the
knife. Loosen the screws, adjust the knife as required and
retighten the screws.
