BEFORE CONNECTING
Read this manual carefully before using the M2DL2 meter.
The assembly and installation of this equipment must be
carried out by qualified personnel in electrical
installations.
Check that the equipment characteristics indicated on its
label correspond to those of the installation where it will
be used.
Do not use the equipment if your plastic wrap is damaged
and return it.
Do not connect the equipment to the system without first
disconnecting the power supply. Avoid field work unless
another person is in your vicinity and can assist you.
A safety device must be connected to the measuring line.
This device may be that of the installation, if its range does
not exceed the maximum current of this equipment.
Do not use the equipment in explosive atmospheres or in
damp environments with the possibility of condensation.
The equipment requires no maintenance, must not be
opened, dangerous voltages may exist inside.
CONECCTION
The connection manual can be found on the side of the
meter and in this manual. For a correct operation it is only
necessary to connect the input and output (terminals 1 and
2) of the phase and neutral (terminals 3). All other
connections are optional, the L- and L+ connections
(terminals 4 and 5) are used if the meter is connected to an
RS485 communications network. Terminals 6 to 9 are
used for connecting the active and reactive energy pulse
outputs to external counters or pulse totalizers.

VISUALIZATION
The M2DL2 has a 27 x 15 mm display. The
upper line shows the displayed values 3 x 2 mm
and operation indicators, a left arrow indicates
power reversal, and a telephone indicates
established communication. The bottom line
shows the values, up to six digits of 8 x 3 mm.
The display shows all data from the recorder.
When the push-button is pressed, the display
advances and the backlighting is activated. After
30 seconds without pressing the backlight, it
turns off. The display remains on the last screen
viewed. To reset the partial counter, press and
hold for 10 seconds.
The data is displayed in the following order:
RS485 network identity
Total active energy 1 decimal
Current , 2 decimals
Voltage, 1 decimal
Active power, 2 decimals
Reactive power, 2 decimals
Power factor, 2 decimals
Frequency, 2 decimals
Zero counter, 1 decimal
Reactive energy totalizer, 1 decimal

COMUNICATION
The M2DL2 meter has an RS485
communication port on terminals 4 L- and 5 L+,
which communicates under MOD BUS
protocol. All meter values can be read through
the communication port, as well as modifying
the identity and baud rate.
