I. Introduction to S818
This car key remote DVR has a covert camera with a regular car key remote case. S818 can capture pictures
and record videos secretly. Besides, it has motion detection function and web camera function.
II. Quick Start
Insert TF card: First, press “key switch”, then find TF card slot. Insert TF card.
Turn on: Long press “power switch” ( the blue light and red light are on, then the blue turns off. )
Turn off: Long press “power swith” (the blue and red lights flash 3 times, then both turns off.)
Charge the battery: Connect to PC with USB cable (red light is on and blue light flash.)
Take photo: Click “photo/video” button to capture a picture( red light flash once.)
Record video: Long press “photo/video” button (red light flash 6 times, then turns off). Click “power switch”
to stop recording and save the video (red light turns on).
Standby state: Once turn on DVR, the red light is always on.
Motion Detection state: If the object in camera view is moving, DVR keep recording. If not move, DVR stop
recording and save video automatically.

turn off), then click “power switch” to stop recording and save the video (red light is on).
How to reset: press “key switch” button, then find “reset hole”. Use a needle to click the black button.
III. Operation Guidance
a) Insert TF card: First, press “key switch”, then find TF card slot. Insert TF card.
b) Turn on/off:
i. Turn on: Long press “power switch” ( the blue light and red light are on, then the blue turns off. )
ii. Turn off: Long press “power swith” (the blue and red lights flash 3 times, then both turns off.)
If you do not use it, it will close automatically.
c) Take photos: Click “photo/video” button to capture a picture( red light flash once.)
d) Record a video: Long press “photo/video” button (red light flash 6 times, then turns off). Click “power
switch” to stop recording and save the video (red light turns on).
Motion detection state: If the object in camera view is moving, DVR keep recording. If not move, DVR stop
recording and save video automatically.
e) when in standby state, long press “motion detection switch” (both red and blue light flash 6 times, then both
turn off), then click “power switch” to stop recording and save the video (red light is on).
f) Set time:
(1) Connect to your PC and open the 4G memory.
(2) Build a new .txt file and rename it as “timerset”. Then open it and write down the Current time
(year,month,day,minute,second). Eg. 20110125143640 Y. Finally, save it and escape. Next time you use car
remote DVR, it will display corresponding time.
(3) Put the CD disk into your PC. Then open “Write time-EN.exe” and click “Update time”. Finally, disconnect
with the computor.
(4) Reboot the DVR and new time update.
g) Install Web Camera:
(1) Install web camera driver: Insert CD into your PC, open “STK02N 2.4.exe” (double click);
(2) Turn on DVR and take out TF card. Then connect to PC with USB cable and open “my computer”. You
can see “PC camera” and double click. You can use it to chat with your friends.
(3) Before disconnect, please click the icon of Movable Disk > “desconnect with the PC safely”.
Note: You should turn on the DVR before using the web camera function.
h) Reset the DVR: Press “key switch” button, then find “reset hole”. Use a needle to click the black button.
Note: Try to reset it in following situations: DVR crash or doesn’t work normally; the DVR doesn’t response.
i) Charge the battery: Connect to PC with USB cable (red light is on and blue light flash.)
j) Play/download/delete the record: Connect to PC with USB cable (red light is on and blue light flash.)
Open “My Computer” > “Movable Disk”. Open the disk and copy/delete/upload files.

1. Why I can’t play the video?
- Please try another AVI video player.

2. Why can’t start up the DVR?
- Maybe the battery run out, please charge the internal battery.
3. Why can’t connect with my PC?
- Please turn off the DVR and then connect. Or press “reset” button.
4. It crashes and the buttons don’t work.
- Frequent operation will cause crash. Please reset it.
5. Why can’t upload or download files?
- (1) Please check whether the USB cable is all right.
(2) Make sure the memory has enough volume.
6. I have record videos. Why there is no video or pictures?
- Please insert a TF card first. Without it, you can’t record.
7. After turning on the DVR, red light keeps flashing.
- Please whether TF card insert properly, whether TF card is broken or not.
8. Why I can’t use it? It keeps turning off.
- Please try to charge the battery. When the battery is to run out, red light flashes for 3 seconds. DVR save the
record and turns off automatically.
9. Due to unproper operation, the DVR doesn’t response or work.
- Please click “Reset” button to reset.
10. Why it can’t record video?
- Make sure you have inserted TF card correctly.
11. DVR can’t connect to PC.
- Check your Operation System, driver software, USB slot and USB cabel.
12. There has no volume in the Disk.
- Check whether TF card insert correctly or not.
V. Cautions
1. Please do not open the DVR case without our approval.
2. The DVR shall be used legally. The user will be full responsible for any illegal usage or any infringement or
right cases.
