Thank you for purchasing our Salton Electric Ice Crusher. Each unit is manufactured for
safety, reliability and ease of use. Before using this appliance for the first time, please ensure
that you read the instruction manual carefully and keep them for future reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1. Make sure that the power supply corresponds to the one indicated on the rating label.
2. Read all instructions carefully before using the appliance
3. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not immerse product in water or other
liquid.
4. Do not over fill the ice compartment
5. Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by or near children.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before
cleaning.
7. Do not operate product with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,
or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized
service facility or manufacturer for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical
adjustment.
8. The use of attachments that are not recommended or provided by manufacturer may
cause, fire electric shock or injury. The manufacturer cannot be help responsible if this
instruction has been ignored
9. Do not use this appliance outdoors
10. Do not place the product on or near a hot burner or any other kind of heating device.
11. Do not use the appliance for anything other than intended use.
12. This appliance is for domestic use only. Should the unit be utilized for industrial or
commercial use, the warranty becomes invalid.
13. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
14. Allow the ice crusher to operate for max. 1 min. per use, then allow the appliance to
cool down for 2 minutes after each use.
15. This appliance is not a toy. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep it away from babies
and children.
16. Do not allow the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter or to touch hot
surfaces.

17. To disconnect, grip the plug and pull from the wall outlet. Never pull on the cord..
18. Never attempt to open any part or to dismantle the controls. Responsibility for failure
cannot be accepted if these instructions have been ignored.
INTENDED USE
The ice crusher is for crushing cubes of pure water ice. The appliance must not be used for
crushing cubes containing fruit juices or anything other than water. To do so, could result in
damage / corrosion of internal components and could also invalidate your warranty.
USINGTHE ICE CRUSHER
1. Place the ice crusher on a level, non-slip surface.
2. Insert the mains wall socket (230V)
3. Remove the clear plastic lid.
4. Turn on the ice crusher by pushing the switch into the “On” position. Please always the
ice crusher is turn ON before putting the ice cubes into the ice crusher compartment.
5. Using the ice scoop provided put 3 or 4 ice cubes into the hinged ice filler compartment.
Note: The size of the cubes should not be more than the standard 1” x 1” x 1”
( 25x25x25mm) variety.
6. The hinged flap springs shut for safety.
7. The ice crusher will process all the ice cubes and this only take a few seconds for each
load of ice cubes.
8. Repeat the process until you have crushed enough ice for your needs or until the ice
container is full.
9. Please make sure the ice cubes are fully crushed then turn “Off “the appliance.
10. Important safety note: never put your fingers or any utensil into the processing chamber
to free any trapped ice.
CLEANING
1. Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance.
2. Wipe outside of the appliance with a paper towel or a soft cloth moistened with a little
water. It should not be washed in a dishwasher.
3. Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this
will damage the finish.
4. Do not immerse the unit in water or any other liquid although you can pour a little water
into the ice chamber. However, only use cold water and never use detergent.

5. After cleaning, leave the clear plastic lid off for a while to allow the machine to dry
thoroughly.
CHANGINGTHE PLUG
The unit is supplied with a 2 pin VDE plug.
If you wish to change the plug to a 3 pin, round pin plug, please connect as follows:
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green/Yellow = Earth Blue = Neutral Brown = Live
SERVICING THE APPLIANCE
Hints before returning the appliance:
Is your household socket working properly?
Are all required switches in the ON position?
Ensure that the plug is firmly in the socket and switched on.
Ensure that the appliance is standing on an even surface.
There are no user serviceable parts in this appliance. If the unit is not operating correctly,
please check the following:
You have followed the instructions correctly
That the unit has been wired correctly and that the wall socket is switched on.
That the mains power supply is ON.

If the appliance still does not work after checking the above:
Consult the retailer for possible repair or replacement. If the retailer fails to resolve the
problem and you need to return the appliance, make sure that:
The unit is packed carefully back into its original packaging.
Proof of purchase is attached.
A reason is provided for why it is being returned.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized
service agent in order to avoid any hazard. If service becomes necessary within the warranty
period, the appliance should be returned to an approved Amalgamated Appliance (Pty) Ltd
service centre. Servicing outside the warranty period is still available, but will, however, be
chargeable.

W A R R A N T Y
1. Tedelex Trading (Pty) Limited (“Tedelex”) warrants to the original purchaser of this product
(“the customer”) that this product will be free of defects in quality and workmanship which
under normal personal, family or household use and purpose may manifest within a period
of 1 (one) year from the date of purchase (“warranty period”).
2. Where the customer has purchased a product and it breaks, is defective or does not work
properly for the intended purpose, the customer must notify the supplier from whom the
customer bought the product (“the supplier”) thereof within the warranty period. Any claim
in terms of this warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase. If proof of purchase is
not available, then repair, and/or service charges may be payable by the customer to the
supplier.
3. The faulty product must be taken to the supplier's service centre to exercise the warranty.
4. The supplier will refund, repair or exchange the product in terms of this warranty subject to
legislative requirements. This warranty shall be valid only where the customer has not
broken the product himself, or used the product for something that it is not supposed to be
used for. The warranty does not include and will not be construed to cover products
damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, tamper, abuse or any unauthorised modification
or repair of the product.
5. This warranty will extend only to the product provided at the date of the purchase and not
to any expendables attached or installed by the customer.
6. If the customer requests that the supplier repairs the product and the product breaks or
fails to work properly within 3 (three) months of the repair and not as a result of misuse,
tampering or modification by or on behalf of the customer, then the supplier may replace
the product or pay a refund to the customer.

7. The customer may be responsible for certain costs where products returned are not in the
original packaging, or if the packaging is damaged. This will be deducted from any refund
paid to the customer.
