SALTON FOOT MASSAGER
Thank you for purchasing our Salton Foot Massager. Each Foot Massager is manufactured to
ensure safety and reliability. Before using the unit for the first time, please read the instruction
manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:
Important: This appliances uses heat and massage to stimulate blood circulation. Please
consult your doctor prior to using this unit if any of the following conditions are applicable:
1. High blood pressure
2. Pacemaker
3. Varicose veins
4. Pregnant
5. Diabetes
Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in
your home.
Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the
user.
The appliance is intended for household use only. Commercial use invalids the warranty
and the supplier cannot be held responsible for injury or damage caused when using the
appliance for any other purpose than that intended.
Continued operation for longer than 20 minutes is not recommended. Extensive use could
lead to the product overheating. Should this occur, discontinue use and allow the unit to
cool down before re-operating.
Close supervision is required when any appliance is used near or by children or invalids.
Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the plug is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person in order to avoid
an electrical hazard.
Do not use the massager if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In case of
damage, take the unit in for examination and/or repair by an authorised service agent

Do not wrap the power cord tightly around the appliance as this may cause the insulation
to weaken and split particularly where the cord enters the unit.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the unit and/or the power
cord to water or any other liquid other than that necessary for the correct operation of the
product.
Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid for cleaning purposes.
Do not use the appliance while bathing or showering.
Do not place the unit where it can fall or be pulled into a bath or sink.
Never block the air openings on this appliance or place it on a soft surface such as a bed
or couch. Keep openings free of dust, lint or hair etc.
Do not operate the massager under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and
cause fire, shock or injury to persons.
Do not attempt to stand in or on the massager. Use only when in a seated position.
Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull on the cord to
disconnect the massager from the mains.
Always switch off the massager and unplug when not in use or before
assembling/disassembling parts as well as before cleaning.
Ensure that the cord or extension cord is not in a position where it can be pulled on
inadvertently or tripped over.
If it is necessary to use an extension lead, ensure that the lead is suited to the power
consumption of the foot massager to avoid overheating of the extension cord, appliance
or plug point.
Never install the unit where it could be exposed to:
oHeat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves or other heat producing products.
oDirect sunlight
oExcessive dust
oMechanical vibration or shock
oLack of ventilation, such as on a bookcase or cabinet
oUneven surface
This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use.
Never carry the appliance by the power cord.
The appliance has a heated surface. Persons sensitive to heat must always take extra care
when using this appliance.

Do not use the unit if you feel drowsy. Do not fall asleep when using the massager.
Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
Discontinue use if you feel any discomfort or if any pain or irritation results. Massage is
generally pleasant and comfortable. Should pain or discomfort result, discontinue use
immediately and consult a physician. Persistent pain may indicate a more serious
condition.
Never use for swollen or inflamed feet, or if your feet have any open wounds, burns, or
inflammation present. Please consult your doctor prior to using the foot massager in these
instances.
The use of attachments and accessories not supplied with the unit is not recommended.
The supplier cannot take responsibility for any hazard or personal injury as a result of
improper use.
Important
Do not use in the case of the following sufferings:
1. Tuberculosis
2. Benign and malignant tumours
3. Haemorrhages
4. Inflammation of the skin
5. Phlebitis and thrombosis
6. Open and fresh wounds
7. Bruises
8. Broken skin or varicose veins
9. Undetermined calf or joint pain
SPECIAL WARNINGS
Always check the temperature of the water before putting your feet into the foot
massager.
DO NOT stand in the unit. Sit down in a comfortable chair and place your feet
into the basin.
Always unplug the unit when not in use, when filling with water, emptying,
cleaning or moving the appliance.
Make sure that your hands are dry when operating the control dial or removing
the plug.

DO NOT leave the appliance unattended when it is operating.
CONTROLS AND FEATURES
Proper use of this appliance produces a measurable increase in blood circulation in the skin of the
feet, which may manifest itself in a pleasant and lasting feeling of warmth and a rise in skin
temperature.
Using your foot massager regularly can produce longer term increased circulation in the feet and
indirectly throughout the entire leg area.
Temperature controlled heaters that stretch across the entire foot length under each footrest,
maintain the desired temperature throughout your massage (with our without water) when you set
the control switch of the unit to include a “Heat”function.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Remove the foot massager and any accessories from the box.
Remove the plastic wrapping from the plug and unit.
Important: Ensure that the unit is unplugged before filling with water. Remember to set a
towel near by to dry feet off afterwards.
Do not overfill the basin of the massager. Fill to the maximum mark only.

1. Select the type of massage that you prefer by using the dial on the control panel:
a. Dry Massage: The foot spa may be used without water to simply massage your
feet.
b. Wet Massage: To enjoy a wet massage, fill the foot spa with warm water up to
the “Max” line indicated on the inside wall of the unit
2. Plug in the appliance at the mains socket and switch on.
3. Select your preferred function/application:
a. Position 0: Switches unit OFF
b. Position 1: Massage ONLY
c. Position 2: Massage and Heat
d. Position 3: Heat ONLY
4. Sit down in a comfortable chair and place your feet into the Foot Spa.
5. The roller ball in the centre of the unit can be utilised to provide more precise stimulation
to the sole of the foot.
6. Enjoy the massage. Enhance your massage experience by using the roller ball or the
therapeutic nodes along the entire base of the massager.
7. Upon completion of the massage, switch the unit OFF at the controls and unplug from the
mains.
8. Dry your feet.
9. Empty the container into the basin/bath by tilting the unit and allowing the water to flow
out over the drain spout.
10. Never allow the water to run over the control dial.
Note: The heater will only maintain the temperature of the water poured into the foot spa at the
onset. It will not heat cold water. To ensure a warm massage, please fill the unit with warm
water.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
This appliance is for household use only and is not user-serviceable.
Unplug the unit and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
To clean the appliance, simply rinse it out with clean water.
Never immerse the entire unit in water or any other liquids

Wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth and a mild detergent solution, then rinse and dry
thoroughly before packing away.
SERVICING THE APPLIANCE
There are no user serviceable parts in this appliance. If the heater is not operating correctly,
please check the following:
You have followed the instructions correctly
That the unit has been wired correctly and that the wall socket is switched on.
That the mains power supply is ON.
That the plug is firmly in the mains socket.
If the appliance still does not work after checking the above:
- Consult the retailer for possible repair or replacement. If the retailer fails to resolve the problem
and you need to return the appliance, make sure that:
The unit is packed carefully back into its original packaging.
Proof of purchase is attached.
A reason is provided for why it is being returned.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised service
agent, in order to avoid any hazard. If service becomes necessary within the warranty period, the
appliance should be returned to an approved Amalgamated Appliance (Pty) Ltd service centre.
Servicing outside the warranty period is still available, but will, however, be chargeable.
STORAGE
Ensure that the appliance is unplugged, cooled and emptied of all the water.
The appliance must be dried thoroughly before packing away.
Wrap the cord loosely around the rubber feet.
Store in a clean dry place
Never hang the unit up by the power cord.

Amalgamated Appliances (Pty) Limited (“the Supplier”) warrants to the original purchaser of this
product (“the Customer”) that this product will be free of defects in material and workmanship
which under normal, personal, family or household purpose manifest themselves within a period
of 365 days from the date of purchase or in respect of commercial or professional purposes,
manifest themselves within a period of 90 days from the date of purchase. Any claim in terms of
the warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase. If such proof is not available, then
notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, the Supplier’s normal charge for service and/or
spares will be payable by the Customer upon collection of the repaired product. If a claim is
made in terms of the aforesaid warranty within the first 7 days from the date of purchase, the
faulty product will be exchanged (provided that the product is in its original packaging with all
accessories). Failing return of the product within 7 days, the Supplier’s liability shall be limited
on return to the Supplier of the product or parts thereof, to the replacement or repair (in the sole
discretion of the Supplier, or its duly authorised service dealer) of the product to eliminate any
defect in workmanship or materials found to be due exclusively to any acts or omissions on the
parts of the Suppliers, of which defects the Supplier shall have been notified in writing by the
Customer within the aforesaid warranty period. The warranty provided herein and the obligations
of the Supplier as aforesaid are in lieu of, and the Customer waives, all other warranties,
guarantees, conditions or liabilities, express or implied, arising by law or otherwise, including
without limitation, any obligation of the Supplier in respect of any injury, loss or damage (direct,
indirect or consequential) arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this product and whether or
not occasioned by the Supplier’s negligence (gross or otherwise) or any act or omission on its
part. The warranty does not include and will not be construed to cover products damaged as a
result of disaster, misuse, abuse or any non-authorised modification of the product. The warranty
does not include replacement of light bulbs, heater bars, paper bags or any glass, plastic bowl or
jug or other expendables. During the warranty period the product should be taken to a service
centre of the Supplier or one of its duly authorised service agents. The Supplier neither assumes
nor authorises any other person to assume for it, any additional liability in connection with the
sale or servicing of its products.
