Introduction
This User's Manual allows user to get to know more about the features of SmartStation.
Please read it once carefully before proceeding for special maintenance of SmartStation.
This is specially designed for the dealers of SmartStation. It has a brief overview of all the
features as well as many screen shots and detail explanation for ease of SmartStation usage.
All though the drivers and application programs are already installed in the factory, the
installation procedure is explained in case of emergency situations. But it is always
recommended that the installation has to be done by skilled technicians.

1.4 Connections and mountings
SmartStation can be used indoor as well as outdoor applications.
There are optional accessories available for mounting SmartStation e.g.

Flexible RAM mounting System.
1.5 Power settings
SmartStation can be operated in both modes AC and DC
For using SmartStation in AC mode (Optional)
There is AC/DC adapter (100-240 V 50-60 Hz -- 12 volts DC Output 60 W) provided to connect
SmartStation to AC power supply through power connector as shown in 1.2.4 Bottom view.
For using SmartStation in DC mode (Optional)
There are DC power supplies available to supply power to SmartStation.
There are two models available
DC 9 ~ 60 V (60 W)
For using SmartStation with uninterrupted power supply
SmartStation is provided with internal backup battery (uninterrupted power supply) which is
Lithium ion battery of 12V 4000 mAH, with backing time of 20 min.
It gets charged when SmartStation is on. The full charged voltage is 12V.
It is advisable to save all your data when it is working on backup battery time to time.
Once SmartStation starts working on UPS and UPS voltage is less than 11V, it is noticeable by
Red LED.
1.6 Turning on SmartStation
After connecting power cable to Smartstation, switch on the power switch given on 1.2.4 Bottom
view to turn on SmartStation and press soft shutdown switch given on 1.2.1 Front view
The operating system will start getting loaded, wait till it finishes
1.7 Turning off SmartStation
In case of Windows XP
Start > Turn off computer following dialog will pop-up
Select the button as per the required operation

Setting Power key to turn off SmartStation
Start > settings > Control panel > power options > Advanced > set power button to Shutdown
For Windows XP -- possible For Windows 2000 – not possible


In order to set a key for hibernation
Start > settings > Control Panel > Power options properties > Advanced > set power key to
Hibernate

1.8 Features of SmartStation

Chapter 2 Handling SmartStation
This chapter helps user to connect various peripheral devices e.g. Monitor, mouse etc. for ease
of operations.
2.1 How to mount SmartStation on docking stations?
The 4 screw holder slots are provided on the rear side of the SmartStation for attaching it to
Flexible RAM Mounting System. There are many types of RAM mountings available.
Following figure shows one of them.
2.2 How to connect DVI monitor to SmartStation?
There is a DVI port provided at the bottom of the SmartStation, wherein DVI monitor can be
connected using DVI cord.
The necessary settings are as follows
Start > Settings > Control panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Display Config > LVDS

(clone) DVI> Apply
