RECOMMENDED FINISHES
The wood preservative used for this product, Copper-Green○
RBrown is available at your local Home
Depot.○
RThe color is not permanent, will show shade of green from Copper, and turn to light brown
over time. The smell of the wood preservative will be less noticeable in a couple of weeks. Please wash
hands after handling. For permanent finish, we recommend Behr solid deck stain also available at
Home Depot. (Please finish after assembly, or the floor boards may not fit.)
For a stained, solid finish, we recommend:
Water-based, Solid Color, Deck Stain
Pro: Custom colors, highly-durable, easy re-application, low maintenance and a uni-
form, solid-color finish with low sheen, 5-10 year life
Con: Little or no glossy finish, finish not as smooth as paint
For a painted, solid finish, we recommend:
Water-based, Semi-Gloss or Gloss, Exterior Paint
Pro: Good to excellent finish with high sheen, smooth surface with excellent coverage,
5-10 year life.
Con: Higher maintenance over time with more work involving re-painting, average to
high cost.
OR
Oil-based Exterior Paint
Pro: Best and smoothest finish, high sheen and gloss, very durable, 6-10+ year life
Con: Higher maintenance over time with more work involving re-painting, highest cost, clean-up with
specific, oil-based paint solutions

BRIDGE INSTALLATION TIPS
 It is important the bridge be as LEVEL as possible.
 It is highly recommended that you fasten the bridge down to the foundation.
 For best and long-lasting results, support the bridge from underneath each post.
BRIDGE FINISHING TIPS
 Some kind of finish such as deck stain is highly recommended (unless a natural, unfinished,
aged-look is preferred). Finished wood tends to last much longer than unfinished wood.
 Paint is NOT recommended if it is set for traffic; paint tends to be slippery when wet and
peels and cracks over time.
