Introduction
The Sandberg TV Tuner for Monitor (referred to as the “tuner”), enables you to use your computer
screen and a set of PC speakers as a TV. The aerial and/or AV device such as a video camera, DVD
player or games console connect to the box, which in turn connects to your screen. This allows
your screen to work like a normal TV, saving you both the expense and the space of a new TV.
As the box connects directly to your screen, your computer does not need to be on, so you save
power too. The box is supplied with a user-friendly remote control, so that you do not need to get
up from the sofa to change channels or adjust the volume.
1 Installation
The tuner can be used with a computer and monitor, or just with a monitor on its own. In the latter
case, a speaker set must be used for sound.
Here are the cables to be used:
Y cable MiniJack cable
1.1 Tuner connected to computer and monitor
NB: If the tuner is used in this configuration, the computer must be on for sound output. If you
wish to use the tuner without switching on the computer, a speaker set must be connected directly
to the tuner. See section 1.2 for information on this.
1. Switch off the computer and monitor.
2. Connect the black connector of the Y cable to the Cable connector on the tuner.
3. Connect the blue female connector of the Y cable to the monitor VGA cable.
4. Connect the blue male connector of the Y cable to the monitor output on the computer.
5. Connect one end of the black MiniJack cable to the Audio Out connector on the tuner, and the
other end to the Line In connector on the computer.
(Note that the Line In connector on the sound card may be marked with a symbol instead of text.
The Line In input is blue on most sound cards.)
6. Connect an aerial cable to the ANT connector on the tuner. Connect the other end to the cable to
the aerial output in your house. This could be a cable TV connector, satellite dish or TV aerial.
7. Connect the power adapter cable to DC IN on the tuner and the adapter itself to the mains.
8. Insert the batteries provided into the remote control.

1.2 Tuner connected to monitor and speakers
1. Switch off the monitor.
2. Connect the monitor VGA cable to the Cable port on the tuner.
3. Connect an aerial cable to the ANT connector on the tuner. Connect the other end of the cable to
the aerial output in your house. This could be a cable TV connector, satellite dish or TV aerial.
4. Connect the Audio Out port on the tuner to a speaker set or hi-fi amplifier. Most computer speak-
er sets use a MiniJack connector that can be connected directly to the Audio Out port. However,
you can use an adapter from MiniJack to the type of connector used on hi-fi equipment (e.g.
Sandberg product code 503-63) if this solution is used.
5. Connect the power adapter cable to DC IN on the tuner and the adapter itself to the mains.
6. Insert the batteries provided into the remote control.
1.3 Connecting other devices
In addition to the connectors described above, the tuner also has inputs for connecting AV equip-
ment such as games consoles, DVD players, etc.
The three round phono inputs at the front of the tuner are for audio (white and red inputs) and
video (yellow input). Note that the yellow phono input is for composite video, so the connected
device must support this. See the user guide for your AV equipment for details.
The bottom input socket on the front is for S-video. This is an alternative to Composite that is sup-
ported by many devices.
If you wish to connect audio from a device that uses MiniJack connectors rather than phono con-
nectors, you can use the blue Audio In port on the rear of the tuner.

3 Setting TV channels
When switching on the tuner for the first time, you need it to scan the available TV channels.
1. Press Menu on the remote control.
2. Select Channel using the arrow keys. Press Menu.
3. The menu item Auto Scan will be selected. Press Menu again.
4. The tuner will scan all available TV channels. This can take several minutes.
All available TV channels will then be set in the tuner.
4 Menu functions
The menu comprises a range of settings for video and audio.
Use the arrow keys to switch between the various menu items.
The MENU key selects a menu item. Select Return to return to the main menu from one of the
submenus. Select Exit to leave the main menu.
Use the keys to change the value of a setting.
The various submenus and their menu items are explained below:
4.1 Color
Contains settings for colour, contrast and brightness.
Bright - Adjusts the picture brightness
Contrast - Adjusts the picture contrast
Saturat - Adjusts the picture colour saturation
Hue - Adjusts the picture colour tones
H Sharp - Adjusts the picture’s horizontal sharpness
L Sharp - Adjusts the picture’s vertical sharpness
Default - Resets the colour settings to their factory defaults
Return - Returns to the main menu
4.2 Audio
Contains settings for audio.
L Atten - Adjusts attenuation for left audio channel
H Atten - Adjusts attenuation for right audio channel
Treble - Adjusts treble
Bass - Adjusts bass
Loudness - Toggles volume boost
Default - Resets the audio settings to their factory defaults
Return - Returns to the main menu

4.3 Video
Contains settings for picture position and gamma.
Gamma - Adjusts the picture’s gamma correction (brightness of colour nuances)
H Pos - Adjusts the picture’s horizontal position
V Pos - Adjusts the picture’s vertical position
Default - Resets the video settings to their factory defaults
Return - Returns to the main menu
4.4 Channel
Contains functions for setting up TV channels.
Auto Scan - Starts automatic channel scan (quick)
Full Scan - Starts automatic channel scan (smaller frequency jumps, slow)
Fine tune - Fine-tune the frequency for the current channel
Return - Returns to the main menu
4.5 Display
Contains settings for different screen resolutions.
The following resolutions are supported. All resolutions support both 60 and 75 Hz refresh rates. If
your monitor supports 75 Hz, you are recommended to use this setting to obtain the best picture
stability. See the user guide for your monitor for details.

When you select a new screen resolution, the menu item OK appears. Select this item and press
MENU to confirm the selected screen resolution. This is to ensure that you do not switch to a
screen resolution that is not supported by your monitor. In this case the monitor will go black and
revert to the previous setting if OK is not selected within three minutes.
NB: You can also switch between the different screen resolutions by pressing the RES button on
the remote control.

5 Using the tuner
The tuner is switched on using the remote control and will automatically start TV display. You can
then switch between computer, AV device and TV signal using the AV/TV button on the remote
control.
6 Troubleshooting
• There is no picture and no sound
•If the red LED is off: Check that the power adapter is correctly connected.
•If the red LED is on: Check that the tuner is correctly connected to the monitor
and/or computer.
• There is a picture but no sound
•Check that the MiniJack cable is correctly connected to the computer’s Line In connector;
see section 1.1.
•Check that the volume is not on Mute. ( on the remote control)
•Check that the sound is not turned right down on the computer or speaker set.
• There is sound but no picture
•Check that the tuner is correctly connected to the monitor. If the Y cable is the wrong way
round, there will be no picture on the screen. See section 1.1.
•Check that the monitor supports the resolution the tuner is set to. Press RES on the remote
control to switch between the different resolutions.

Introduktion
Med Sandberg TV Tuner for Monitor (herefter kaldet ”tuneren”), kan du bruge din computerskærm
og et sæt PC højttalere som TV. Antenne og/eller AV-enhed som f.eks. videokamera, DVD-afspiller
eller spillekonsol tilsluttes boksen, som tilsluttes din skærm. Herved kan din skærm fungere som
et normalt TV, så du både sparer udgifterne og pladsen til et nyt TV. Da boksen tilsluttes skærmen
direkte, behøver din computer ikke være tændt, hvorved du sparer strømforbruget til denne. Med
boksen følger en brugervenlig fjernbetjening, så du ikke behøver rejse dig fra sofaen, når du f.eks.
skal zappe fra kanal til kanal eller ændre på lydstyrken.
1 Installation
Tuneren kan anvendes enten med en computer og skærm, eller udelukkende med skærmen. I sidst-
nævnte tilfælde skal et højttalersæt anvendes til lyd.
Her ses de kabler der skal anvendes.
Y-kabel MiniJack kabel
1.1 Tuner koblet til computer og skærm
Bemærk: Hvis tuneren anvendes i denne opstilling, skal computeren være tændt for at opnå lyd.
Ønsker du at anvende tuneren uden at tænde computeren, skal et højttalersæt kobles direkte til
tuneren. Se afsnit 1.2 for information herom.
1. Sluk computeren og skærmen.
2. Y-kablets sorte stik tilsluttes Cable stikket på tuneren.
3. Y-kablets blå hunstik tilsluttes skærmens VGA kabel.
4. Y-kablet blå hanstik tilsluttes computerens skærmstik.
5. Tilslut den ene ende af det sorte MiniJack kabel til tunerens Audio Out stik, og den anden ende
til computerens Line In stik.
(Bemærk at lydkortets Line In stik kan være mærket med et symbol i stedet for tekst. Line In
indgangen stikket er blåt på mange lydkort.)
6. Tilslut et antennekabel til ANT stikket på tuneren. Den anden ende af kablet tilsluttes husets
antennestik. Det kan være Kabel TV stikket, en parabol modtager, eller TV antenne.
7. Tilslut strømadapterkablet til tunerens DC IN port og selve adapteren til en stikkontakt.
8. Sæt de medfølgende batterier i fjernbetjeningen.

1.2 Tuner koblet til skærm og højttalersæt
1. Sluk skærmen.
2. Tilslut skærmens VGA kabel til Cable porten på tuneren.
3. Tilslut et antennekabel til ANT stikket på tuneren. Den anden ende af kablet tilsluttes husets
antennestik. Det kan være Kabel TV stikket, en parabol modtager, eller TV antenne.
4. Tilslut tunerens Audio Out port til et højttalersæt eller en HIFI forstærker. De fleste højttalersæt til
computer anvender et MiniJack stik, som kan sluttes direkte til Audio Out porten. Du kan imid-
lertid få brug for et adapter fra MiniJack til den type stik, der anvendes på et HIFI-anlæg, (f.eks.
Sandberg varenr. 503-63) hvis denne løsning anvendes.
5. Tilslut strømadapterkablet til tunerens DC IN port, og selve adapteren til en stikkontakt.
6. Sæt de medfølgende batterier i fjernbetjeningen.
1.3 Tilslutning af andre enheder
Tuneren har udover stikkene beskrevet i det foregående, stik der muliggør tilslutning af AV udstyr,
som f.eks. spillekonsol, DVD afspiller og lignende.
De tre runde Phono-stik på fronten af tuneren er til lyd (hvidt og rødt stik) og billede (gult stik).
Bemærk at det gule Phono-stik er til Composite video, og den tilsluttede enhed således skal under-
støtte dette. Se brugsanvisningen til din AV-enhed for information herom.
Det nederste stik på fronten er til S-Video. Dette er et alternativ til Composite, som mange enheder
understøtter.
Ønsker du at tilslutte lyd fra en enhed, der anvender MiniJack stik, frem for Phono-stik, kan den blå
port Audio In på bagsiden af tuneren anvendes.
