Important Safeguards
Before connecting the appliance check that the voltage indicated on the type
plate corresponds to the mains voltage in your country.
When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should always be
followed. Please read the following carefully before use:
1. Always unplug the appliance immediately after use.
2. Do not use while in the bath.
3. Do not use with wet hands.
4. Do not allow the appliance to be placed or dropped into water or any
other liquid.
5. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Turn off the
power supply to the appliance and then unplug from the wall socket.
6. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
7. Always allow the appliance to cool down before packing away.
8. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or
near children or invalids.
9. The appliance should be used for its intended purpose only.
10.Never use attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance
manufacturer.
11.Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
12.Check the cord regularly for wear or damage, particularly where the
cord enters the appliance and the plug.
13.Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not
working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into
water. Call the Consumer Service Centre for examination and repair.
14.Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance, straighten after use.
15.Hair lacquers and fixing sprays contain flammable materials. Do not
spray while using the styler.
16.The styler and attachment become very hot. Keep away from the body,
specifically areas sensitive to heat such as the face and neck.
17.Take special care when using the styler near children or anyone who is
sensitive to heat.
18.Switch the styler off before putting it down, even if its just for “a
moment”.
19.Do not allow the steam vents to become blocked or even partially
blocked. This may cause the styler to overheat. If it does overheat, the
safety cut-out will cause the styler to switch off and remain inoperable
until the unit has sufficiently cooled down. In this event, switch off the
appliance, unplug it and let it cool down. Remove any blockage to the
steam vents with a soft brush before resuming use. If the styler should
cut out again, even when there is no blockage, contact the approved
Service Centre for examination and repair.
20.After using any of the attachments, allow them to cool before removing
them, or remove them using a towel, to avoid burning your fingers.

21.Do not use the styler within 1 meter of any other electrical or electronic
appliance (e.g. TV, computer,...) as it may cause interference.
22.The installation of a residual current operated protective device with a
nominal trip current of 30mA offers additional protection. Contact your
electrician.

2. This product has been designed to operate safely when held by the

How to use your Styler
Heat up
- Swing the heat stand forward and place the styler on a flat, level, heat
resistant surface, close to a power outlet.
- Plug the styler into the power outlet and switch on.
- Slide the power switch to ON.
- The power on light will illuminate.
- Allow 5 minutes for the styler to reach optimum temperature.
Using the Styling Tong
- Your hair should be dry and brushed / combed to remove any tangles.
- Take a section of hair no wider than 25mm. For longer / thicker hair
use smaller sections.
- Start at the nape of the neck and work upwards and outwards, finishing
up at the top of the head.
- Press the tong lift button to raise the tong.
- Put the ends of the hair section between the tong and the barrel.
- Release the tong lift button, to secure the ends of the hair.
- Rotate the handle to wind the hair round the outside of the tong. You
may find this easier if you hold the cool touch tip loosely with the other
hand.
- Keep the hot metal of the barrel and tong away from your scalp.
- Leave the tong in place for 10-15 seconds. The time may vary
depending on the length and thickness of the hair. Longer / thicker hair
will need a longer styling time, while shorter / finer hair will need a
shorter styling time.
- Unwind carefully, raise the tong to release the end of the hair, then
leave the curl in position until it cools.
- For a spiral effect, use small, square sections of hair and wind them up
the barrel.

Fitting the Styling Brush
- If the styler is on, take care not to touch the barrel, tong or stand as
they will be hot.
- Ensure the tong is closed.
- Turn the brush so that the cut away section is aligned with the tong lift
button.
- Align the slots at the base of the brush with the screws on either side of
the stand.
- Slide the brush down the barrel, then push the slots over the screws to
hold the brush in place.
- To remove the brush, give it a gentle tug to pull the slots away from the
screws, and slide it off the barrel.
Using the Styling Brush
- Your hair should be dry and brushed / combed to remove any tangles.
- Divide your hair into sections. Use small sections for tighter curls and
larger sections for body and curl.
- Draw the heated brush from the roots to the end of each section of hair
and then rotate the handle to wind the hair round the brush, winding
inwards towards the scalp. You may find this easier if you hold the cool
touch tip loosely with the other hand.
- Hold it in position for 20 –30 seconds (depending on the length and
thickness of the section of hair) then unwind carefully to avoid tangling
the hair in the bristles.
Styling tips
1. Use your hot air styler as a styling / finishing tool.
2. It may be used on dry hair or hair that has been towel dried thoroughly.
3. Hair must be tangle-free prior to using the styler.
Styling times
1. Styling time may vary with different hair textures and depending on
how damp the hair is before styling.
2. Average styling times can range from 20 seconds to 1 minute.
3. Test a section of hair to judge styling time.
Avoiding hair tangles
If your hair gets caught in one of the attachments, do not panic!
1. Immediately slide the speed switch to the OFF (O) position.
2. Unplug the Styler.
3. Depending on the situation you may want to detach the attachment
from the handle or leave it on for better manageability.
4. First try loosening the hair on the attachment and then slowly
unwinding it.
5. Twisting the attachment up and down will only cause the attachment to
become more tangled.
6. Using the end of a tail comb is sometimes useful to loosen the tangled
area.
