OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If
it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
IMPORTANT: The high-performance heater in this unit contains an oil-based protective coating that
will burn off during the first few minutes of initial use and may emit smoke and/or an odor. You may
also hear a humming noise during use. This is normal and is not a cause for concern.
Multi-dimensional Combs and Detangling Bristles
Multi-Dimensional Combs and Detangling Bristles gently glide through hair and get close to the
roots, protecting hair from over-styling and locking in moisture, delivering silky, smooth results.
Auto Shut-off
Your Heated Brush has an Automatic Shut-off feature. Should you forget to turn off the Heated
Brush, it will automatically shut off after an hour.
Automatic Worldwide Dual Voltage
This appliance will automatically adjust to the proper voltage. In North America, connect the plug
into any outlet. Outside North America, use a plug adapter of the proper configuration with the plug
before connecting into any outlet.
Operating the Super Ion Generator
Super Ion Generator is designed to give maximum frizz control, delivering a constant stream of ions
for brilliant shine and manageability. Immediately after turning on the Heated Brush, you’ll hear the
gentle crackling of millions of ions that are quickly neutralizing frizz and maximizing sheen for strand
softness and manageability. The Super Ionic Generator releases a flow of powerful static-fighting ions
that smooth and straighten your hair for a polished, brilliant shine.
Start-up
• To begin styling, plug the Heated Brush into an electrical outlet.
• Press the “On / Off” Button. The digital display unit will turn on and display the temperature
setting.
• To increase the heat setting, twist the rotating temperature dial to the right. The LCD screen will
display the temperature setting.
• To lower the heat setting, twist the rotating temperature dial to the left.
• Once the temperature is selected the temperature setting will blink for 30 seconds. Once the
temperature becomes solid the Heated Brush is ready to use.
IMPORTANT: When using the heated brush for the first time, select the LOWEST heat setting and
test in one small section of hair for 5 to 8 seconds. If you want to use a higher setting, be sure to
GRADUALLY increase the temperature. Never style hair for the first time on a high setting as this
may damage your hair. Use only as much heat as you need for effective styling. Over time, using
more heat than is necessary can result in hair damage.
• Temperature will automatically LOCK after 10 seconds of last control used. To UNLOCK, turn
dial to the left or right and hold for 1.5 seconds. For best results follow the temperature guideline
below:
Heat Selection Hair Type
250°F - 290°F For fine, thin hair
300°F - 340°F For medium to wavy hair
350°F - 380°F For curly to thick hair
390°F - 430°F For coarse, hard-to-style hair
Helpful Styling Hints
• Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
• Before using this appliance, detangle hair by brushing or combing.
• Place the Heat-resistant Glove on the hand that will be used to help style hair and not the hand on
the handle.
CAUTION: Take care to avoid touching the styling barrel. The barrel is hot when the appliance is in
use. Only touch the handle and the Cool Tip while styling.
NOTE: The Heat-resistant Glove is intended to protect hand from incidental contact with the barrel, it
is not intended to protect from prolonged exposure.
• Style hair as desired by brushing hair with Heated Brush.
• No need to section your hair. The heated plates and detangling bristles glide easily throughout
your hair, including the back of your head.
• For extra life at the roots, place the Heated Brush under the roots and brush inward.
• To curl ends IN, place the heated brush UNDER the ends and rotate inward. To curl ends OUT,
place heated brush OVER the ends and rotate outward.
• When styling is complete, press and hold the On/Off Button to turn off.
• Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before storing. DO NOT wrap the cord around the
Heated Brush. Use the practical Hanging Ring. This keeps the cord from tangling and wearing
prematurely.

Comienzo

Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep heated surfaces clean and
free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If cleaning becomes necessary, unplug the appliance from the power
source and clean using a damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist prior to use.
WARNING: If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair. This appliance has no user-serviceable
parts.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance when not in use.
Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry
location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the cord to wear prematurely
and break. Handle cord carefully for longer life and avoid jerking, bending sharply, twisting, or straining
cord, especially at plug connections.

Helen of Troy warrants to the original purchaser that this appliance is free from defects in
workmanship for five years from the date of purchase.
This warranty does not cover damages resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, attempts at
