SMOKING ROOM INSTALLATION
INSTALLER INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are for a smoking room of a maximum of 7500 cu ft
One box contains:
•One(1) SANUVOX unit S1000FX-GX
•One(1) SUBKITVOCS1000
The S1000FX GX unit will be factory modified to include:
•One(1) full oxidation J-lamp (UV-V 185nm) (blue end cap)
•One(1) additional ballast and lamp bracket
•One(1) inside relay (Fig 4) connected to the full oxidation lamp
•20 ft of wire (Fig 3) that can be inserted in BX shield.
•One(1) “VOC sensor”(Fig 2) factory pre-set
LAMP INSTALLATION (this step can be done later)
1. Open the front door on the unit.
2. Open the door access to the aluminum box by removing the two
wing nuts. (see picture aside)
3. Remove the BLUE END CAP (LMPHXJ160) lamp from packaging:
use the gloves provided.
4. Identify the ballast showing LMPHXJ160, follow the wire and insert
it in the appropriate clamp, using the foam tape supplied.
5. Plug tightly the connector on the lamp
6. Repeat the operation with the second lamp (LMPHGXJ160).
7. Plug tightly the connector on the lamp
8. Put the cover back on with the 2 wingnuts.

SUGGESTED INSTALLATION
Unit could be
•Suspended from ceiling with suspension rods or chains (not included).
•Hung on the wall with angle iron
Install collar plates on the unit. Note that both are
distinct.
Attach ducts (metal or flex) to the return side of
the unit above the area where smoke
accumulates to remove smoke as fast as possible.
Attach ducts (metal or flex) to the supply side of
the unit to discharge clean air in the room or over
a door to prevent odors from escaping the room.
It is through recirculation that the odors will be
removed. You may use multiple inlets to pull the
smoke to the unit.
The VOC sensor (Fig 2) should be installed on the ceiling where the smoke tends to accumulate. The
S1000 unit comes with 20ft of wire (Fig3) to link the sensor box to the unit. If 20 ft not long enough,
you can replace it with BX wiring with 3 wires.
Note that when powering up, it will take 3 minutes until the VOC monitor will be ready to act: LED
green and red lights will tell you it works.
IMPORTANT: you may have to calibrate the VOC Monitor: refer to the monitor instructions or call
Sanuvox.
WORKING INSTRUCTION
The VOC sensor analyzes the air every 90 seconds. A 20-foot power cord connects it via a relay to
the device to activate the second oxidizing lamp on demand.
The S300 unit runs continuously, so its regular lamp purifies the air constantly. This dual zone lamp
(UVC / UVV) is sufficient when there is only one or two smokers.
However, when the cigarette smoke increases in the room, the VOC sensor that samples the air at
regular intervals, then triggers the 2nd UVV lamp for periods of 90 seconds. This cycle is repeated if
the sensor detects smoke in the room: it then turns off the 2nd lamp, leaving the 1st lamp to
continue the cleaning cycle.
SIMPLIFIED PROCESS:
•Ashes in the “white” smoke will be trapped onto the filter
•Nicotine molecules will be dried by the UVC rays than trapped in the filters without the tar like
material that coats everything.
•VOC will be oxidised by the UVV, reducing substantially their olfactory perception.

VOC SENSOR
Remove the cover.
Connect the 3 wires from the sensor to the same color wiring
coming from the unit. Use the wire connectors (marrettes)
included.
PROCESS: When the unit turns on, the GREEN LED flashes for 5
minutes preheat time. Then the RED LED blinks repeatedly,
indicating that the sensor is sampling the air. If the RED LED
remains lit, the relay opens then triggers on the oxidizing lamp
(all UVV).
If the RED LED goes out, the oxidizing lamp is not lit.
SETTING (if necessary)
You will need a voltmeter with alligator probes.
Place the probes one on the positive terminal, the other on the neutral terminal.
Use a small screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw to increase the sensitivity of the sensor.
The default setting is 3.4 vdc. The closer your setting is to 3.4 vdc, the faster the trigger will be.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
•Change pre –filter (part # MSCFTR2) regularly each month (or few weeks depending on number
of smokers) since it will fill rapidly with nicotine dust and will prevent a good airflow. Check the
filters after the first 2 -3 weeks of installation. The 4 inches filter can be discarded when full: the
pre-filters will be enough to prevent the coating of the fan.
•Every 3 months, check the lamps: if they are covered with dust, clean them with denatured
alcohol.
•Change lamps to maintain performance: make sure to put the same lamp in the same clamp. Do
not interchange lamps as the blue end cap lamp works only with the VOC sensor.
oLMPHGXJ160- Dual zone lamp (yellow end cap) change every 2 years
oLMPHXJ160- All oxidation lamp (blue end cap) change every year
•Recalibrate or change the VOC monitor board every 3-4 years

MAINTENANCE
•REGULARLY:
oCheck filters after using the unit for 2 weeks. If filters are dirty, change them (part #
MSCFTR2). This will help lower air restrictions so to keep up the performance of the
unit. Discard the 4 in filter: it is restricting the airflow.
•QUATERLY:
oEvery 3 months check the lamps: if they are covered with dust, clean them with
denatured alcohol
•ANNUALLY:
oChange lamps (parts -see below) to maintain performance: make sure to put the same
lamp in the same clamp. Do not interchange lamps as the blue end cap lamp works only
with the VOC sensor.
▪LMPHGXJ105- Dual zone lamp (yellow end cap) change every 2 years
▪LMPHXJ105- All oxidation lamp (blue end cap) change every year
•3-4 ans: Change or have the sensor board recalibrated -contact SANUVOX
WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
The VOC sensor analyzes the air every 90 seconds. A 20-foot power cord connects it via a relay to

(UVC / UVV) is enough when there are only one or two smokers.
However, when cigarette smokes increase in the room, the VOC monitor that samples the air
regularly, triggers the 2nd lamp all UVV for period of 90 seconds. This will repeat itself until there is
no more smoke detected: the all UVV lamp will then be shut down, leaving the first lamps on to
continue the cleanup.
It is very important that the fan processes the air rapidly.
Changing the filters regularly is a must.
