LIMITATIONOFLIABILITYAND INDEMNITY
Innocase,whetherasa resultofa breachofcontract,breachofwarrantyortort(in-
cludingSANYO'Sorcustomer'swillfulactsornegligenceorstrictliability)shallSANYO
orcustomerbeliabletotheotherforanyconsequentialorincidentaldamagesincurred
bytheother,including,butnotlimitedto,lossofrevenue,profitsorgoodwill.However,
nothingcontainedinthisagreementisintendedtorelieveeitherSANYOorcustomer
fromclaims,liability,damagesorexpensesresultingfrombodilyinjury,includingdeath,
orfrompropertydamageincurredduetothewillfulacts,thenegligenceoforthestrictli-
abilityofthatparty.
SANYOagreestodefend,indemnityandholdcustomerharmlessfromanyandall
claims,liability,damagesorexpensesduetopersonnelinjuries,includingdeath,toem-
ployeesofSANYOandcustomerandtothirdpartiesandforpropertydamagetothe
extentofthewillfulactsorthenegligenceofSANYOorthestrictliabilityofSANYO
causedbytheactsoromissionsofSANYO.Customeragreesdefend,indemnifyand
holdSANYOharmlessfromanyandallclaims,liability,damagesorexpensesdueto
personnelinjuries,includingdeath,toemployeesofcustomerandSANYOandtothird
partiesandfrompropertydamagetotheextentofthewillfulactsorthenegligenceof
customerorthestrictliabilityofcustomercausedbytheactsoromissionsofcustomer.

Theunitmustbeoperatedasdescribedinthismanual,ifproceduresavenotfollowed,
equipmentdamageandpersonnelinjurycanoccur.
Thismanualcontainsimportantinformationonproperuseandmaintenanceofthissteri-
lizer.Alloperatorsandsupervisorsareurgedtocarefullyreviewandbecomefamiliar
withthewarnings,cautionsandinstructionscontainedherein.
Becausehighpressuredandhightemperaturesteamwillissuefromthechamberinthe
operation,iftheydonotreviewandnotfamiliarwiththewarnings,cautionsandinstruc-
tionscontainedherein,theyarenotpermittooperatethissterilizer.
Anyalterationofthesterilizerwhichaffectsitsdesigncouldvoidthewarrantyandmay
violatestateandlocalregulationsorjeopardizeinsurancecoverage.

Thefollowingisa briefofsaftyprecautionswhichmustbeobservedwhenoperatingor
servicingthissterilizer.
WARNINGSindicatethepossibledangerousaccidenttopersonnelandsomehazards,
andCAUTIONSindicatethepossibledamagetoequipment.
WARNING:
1Alwaysusethelifterwhenliftingtheunittopreventpersonnel
injuryorequipmentdamage.
2Usetheequipmentsuchastheelevatorforliftingtheunitfrom
onefloortoanotherfloor.
Whenmovingtheunit,pushthecornerpartofunitfrontside
asbelow,
otherwisetheunitwouldbetippedoverandpersonnelinjury
canoccur.
Besuretogroundtheunit.Neverconnecttheunit'sground
linetoa gaspipe,telephonegroundline,lightningrodorwater
pipe.Ifthissterilizerarenotgroundedproperlythatcould
causeelectricshocktopersonnel.
.4Donotusedustyordirtyplug,wipeoutdustonthebladeof
theplagandonitsconnectionstopreventa firehazard.
5Donotpullouttheplugwiththepowersupplycord.Unplug
^thepowerplugwithgraspingitself,ifyoudon'tunplug,itcould
causeelectric-shock,shortcircuitora firehazard.

13Whenyoufinishedusingtheunitfortheday,oriftheunitwill
notbeusedforanextendedperiodoftime,besuretoturn
offtheunit'spowerswitch(MAIN).
Donotsqueezeyourfingerorhandinthehingeofthedoor
toreducetheriskofinjurytopersons.
15Donotallowanyonetoclimb,standorhangonthedooror
thesterilizer.Failuretotakethisprecaution,itcouldthe
damageofthesterilizerandeventipitover,causingsevere
personnelinjury.
.16Donotleavechildrenaloneorunattendedwherethe
sterilizerishotorinoperation.
Theycouldbeseriouslyburned,electric-shockedand
injured.
Disconnectsystemfromthesupplytoavoidelectricshock
andwait20minutestoavoidburnhazardbeforecleaning,
repairingoradjusting.
J8 Repairsandadjustments,otherthanthosedescribedin
theseinstructions,shouldbeattempedonlybyexperienced
mechanicsfullyacquaintedwiththisequipment.Useof
inexperienced,unqualifiedpersonstoworkontheequipment
ortheinstallationofunauthorizedpartscouldcause
personnelinjuryorresultincostlydamage.
Donotleaveanyitemsonthedoortoavoida firehazard.

stopperswithcrimpedsealstoreducetheriskofitem'sex-
plosionsandmalfunctionofthesterilizer.
UseonlyType1 boro-silicatedglassbottlesdonotuseordi-
naryglassjugsoranycontainernotdesignedforsteriliza-
tion.
.23Useonlyheatresistanceplasticcontainersdonotuseordi-
naryplasticjugsoranycontainernotdesignedforsteriliza-
tion.
.24Donotpackitemsintothecontainerorbagsthatwillnotlet
steamthroughanddonotwrapitemsupwiththesheetsthat
willnotletsteamthrough.Failuretotakethisprecaution
itemsmaybenotsterilizedandthatcouldresultintheexplo-
sionandmalfunctionofthesterilizer.
,25Neverusetheunittosterilizeculturesorchemicalsolutions
containingelements(saltstrongacids,strongalkalis).Ifitis
usedthatcouldcausetheinsideofthechamber(madeof
stainlesssteel)tocorrode.Corrosioncan causetheunitto
malfunctionprematurely.Also,whenfinishedusingtheunit
fortheday,discardallleftoverwaterinsidethechamber,
wipetheinsideofthechambercleanandallowittodry.
^26whenplacingitemsina bagforsterilization,alwaysputthe
bagina stainlesssteelbasketbeforeinsertingitintothe
chamber.Ifbagsareputdirectlyintothechamber,they
couldblockthesensorandinterferewithaccurateheatcon-
trol.

,27Useonlydistilledwaterortapwaterastheunit'swaterfor
evaporation.Neverusechemicalssuchasalcohol,wellwa-
terorsaltwater.Theycouldcausetheunittoexplodeorre-
sultincorrosion.
28Neveropenthedrainvalvewhilesterilizationisinprogress
^orwhilethepressureinthechamberisstillhigh.Failureto
takethisprecautioncouldresultinissuingofhotandpres-
surizedsteamfromthevalve,thatcouldbeextreamlydan-
gerous.Also,sincethewaterinsidethechamberisquitehot
immediatelyaftersterilizationfinishes,allowplentyoftime
forittocooldownbeforediscardingoldwater.
,29Neverpourwaterontheunit.Watercouldleakintoinsideof
theuintandcauseelectricalshockormalfunctions.
.30Donotbringyourfaceorhandsnearthepressuresafety
valvetoavoidburnhazard.Iftheunitisoperating,steam
suddenlymayissuefromthevalve.
/K31Neveropenthedoortoavoidburnsorinjurytopersonnel,if
sterilizationisinprogressorthechamberispressured.
Alwaysconfirmthatthechamberpressurehasreturnedto0
MPaandtheindicatorislightingthefinishingmark.Failure
totakethisprecautioncouldresultincausingoftheunitto
malfunctionandreleasingofthesteamthatisextremely
dangerous.
.32Donottouchthechamber,doororarmtoavoidburns,if
sterilizationisinprogressorimmediatelyafterward.
.33Donotshaketheunittoavoidtheexplosionofitemsora
burnhazard,iftheunitisoperating.

Opendoorslowlyattheendofa liquidsterilizationcycle.Do
notallowhotbottlestobejolted.Failuretofollowthesepre-
cautioncouldresultinbottleexplosions!Donotmovebot-
tles,ifanyboilingorbubblingispresent.
,35Standawayfromthesterilizer,whenopeningthedoor,the
hotairandsteamthatescapecancauseburnstohands,
faceandeyes.
,36Wearprotectiveglovesandapronwhenremovinga
processedload.Protectiveglovesandapronshouldalsobe
wornwhenreloadingsterilizerfollowingpreviousoperation.
y37Allowbottlestocooltotouchbeforeattemptingtomovethem
fromthestainlessbasketstothestoragearea.
y38|ftheunitisusedcontinuously,allowfiveminutesbetween
cyclesforcooling-off.Ifa newsterilizationcycleisbegin
immediatelyafterthepreviousonehasfinished,theunitmay
notbeabletogeneratesufficientsaturatedsteam.Afterthe
"finished"buzzerhassounded,remove5 minutestocool-off
thesterilizeditemsandleavethedooropeningforfive
minutesormoretoallowtheunittocooloffbeforestarting
thenextsterilizingcycle.
Ty39Becarefulnottoscratchyourselfontheunit'sprotrusionsto
avoidpersonnelinjury.

chloride-containingproductstocleandoorandchamber
assembly.
