2SYSTEM OPERATION
2.1IMPORTANT:PrecautionsbeforeUse
Themonitorandcamerasystemisprovided asanaidwhen reversingyourcaravan and can also
be used toprovide an additionalviewfromtherearof thecaravan whilst driving.
It shouldnotbe relieduponasthesoleindication of yourvehicleposition orthe positionofother
vehiclesoranyobstacles.
When reversingormanoeuvringpleaseensurethe areaaround yourcaravan isclearfrom
obstructions,anddonot whollyrelyon the cameraview, useyourmirrorsand seekassistanceas
required.
2.2TheCaravanCamera
Thecamerafittedtotherearof thecaravan hasnoserviceableparts, howeverthe following
precautionsshouldbeobserved.
ØCheck that the cameralensiscleanasdirt canobscurethe view.
ØNeveruseapowerwasherorwaterjet toclean the cameraortransmitter.
2.3Connecting theCar
Beforeyou canusethemonitorwiththecamerayou need toconnect yourcaravan tothecarwith
the 13 pintowingconnector.
When the carengine isstartedtherearcamerawill receivepowerand switchon automatically.
2.4Installing theMonitor inthetowcar
Themonitorhasvariousfeaturesyou shouldbe familiarwithforcorrect operation.
Firstlyattachthemount tothe rearof themonitorandconnectthecarpowercable. The monitor
mountingplateclipstothe rearofthemonitor.The windscreenmountingthenclipsontothe
mountingplate.The powercableplugsintothe mini-USB socket on the side ofthe monitorwith
the otherendpluggingintothe carpowersocket.
Themonitorhasaninternalrechargeablebatterywhichwill last foraround1hourwhen used
without thepowercable. Thisbatteryischarged when thepowercableisconnected. Chargingis
indicatedbyaredLEDon the side ofthe monitor.

Nowattachthe monitormount tothe windscreen usingthesuctionmounting.
ØDonotpositionthe monitorinaplacethat willblock the drivers’viewofthe road.
ØDonotblock air bagsorotherdashboardfeatures.
ØSafelypositionthepowercabletoprevententanglement orcabledamage.
ØEnsurethemonitorissecure. The suctionmount can be moistenedtoenhancethe sealto
the windscreen.
ØDonotleavethemonitorinavisibleplacewhen the vehicleisunattended.
ØThemonitorhasnoserviceableparts. Donot open the case.
ØUseyourowndepthperception; objectsmayappearfurtherawaythan theyactuallyare.
2.5Turning theMonitor powerOn / Off
Toturnthemonitoron:
·Press andholdthe powerkeyfor3seconds.The Android
operatingsystemwill start andpresent you withamenu.
Toturnthemonitoroff:
·Press andholdthe powerkeyfor3seconds.The poweroff
menuwill appear; select thePoweroffoption.
2.6Using theMonitor –HomescreenApp’s
Themonitor uses the Androidoperating system which iswidelyused on mobilephones and tablets.Some
ofthe basicAndroidfunctions arecovered inthismanual, butfurther information can befoundinthe

ØTurnthemonitoron andwait fortheunittostart up.
ØOnthemenuscreenselect the Androidsettingsicon .
ØTurntheWi-Fisettingon byslidingthe on-screen switch.
ØTouchthe Wi-Fisetting toshowalist of availablenetworks.
ØThecamerasystemusesthe WIFI_AVIN network, soselect this.
ØTouchinthepasswordarea andenterthepassword 12345678 toconnect.
ØTouchdoneand thenconnect, WIFI_AVINshouldthenstate‘Connected’
ØTouchthe back buttontwice toreturntothe mainmenu.
ØThisisaone offoperation. Theunit will rememberthesettingsforfutureuse.
Noteforsecurityreasonsthecaravan transmitteronlyconnectstoone receiver(monitor,phoneor
tablet)at atime. Pleaseensureyou disconnect onedevicebeforetryingtoconnectanother.
2.8TheReversing CameraApp
Select thistolaunchthereversingcameraApp.
ØToviewthe cameraselect thecameraApponthemenuscreen .
ØThesoftwarewill connect tothetransmitterand the cameraimagewill be shownon
screen.
Thefollowingdescribesthe availablebuttons/ optionswithinthecameraApp.

Note: The unithasalimitedstoragememory, sotrytoavoidrecordinglongsectionsofvideo

addingaMicroSDcardtotheunit, insertingit intheslotprovided.Theunit will workwithacard
from4Gbto32Gb. Pleaseuseagoodqualitycard, ideallyclass 6orabove.

Note: It ispossibletochangethe defaultnetworknameand password. Thisshouldnot be
necessaryand isnot recommended,butcanbe doneifyou havetwosystemsclosetogetherand
wouldlikeeachtobe identified differently.
Press the settingsbutton tochangethenetworknameandpassword. Whenthe information is
changed theconnectiontothetransmitterwillbe lost and you will need toreconnect theWiFiusing
the initialWiFisetup process but thistimeusingyournewnetworknameandpassword.
If somethinggoeswrongwiththisprocess thetransmittercan be reset back tothefactorysettings.
Todo thisaccess the transmitter(locatedabovethe numberplateundertheblackpanel) andwith
the transmitterpowered up, press theresetbutton. The networknamewill be resetto WIFI_AVIN
and thepasswordto 12345678.
2.9TheSatellite Navigation App
Select thistoaccessthesatellitenavigation App.
ØThefirst timeyou startthe SatNavAppyou will havetochoosesomeoptionsand
default settings. Pleasereadtheguidanceon screen.

·SelectYes/No tologs
·Next
·Select voice, werecommend EnglishUK James,next
·Set orchange the Unitsformat (Miles or Metres etc),next
·Set orchange routesettings, next

·Speed camera warnings, Leaveon, Turn off

ØTheSatNavsoftwareisquitestraightforwardtouse,butthefollowingpointswill

ØWhen enteringadestinationforthe firsttimeyou mayneedtochangethe onscreen
keyboardformat. Toexplainthishereisawalkthroughtoenterapost code

2.10Switching betweenApp’s
ThefollowingAndroidsystembuttons(at the bottomofthe screen)can beused toswitchbetween
App’s, closeApp’sorgotothepreviousscreen.
BACK: Opensthepreviousscreenyou wereworkingin, even ifit wasinadifferentApp.
Onceyou back up tothe Homescreen,you can’t goback anyfurther.

HOME: Returntothe homescreen(as2.6above).
RECENTAPPS:Opensthe previousscreenyou wereworkingin, even ifit wasina
different app.Onceyou backuptotheHomescreen, you can’t goback anyfurther.
2.11Using theseparateApp on yourAndroidor AppleiOSphone
If you don’t want tousethesupplied monitoryou can usethe separateApp on an Androidor
AppleiOS device.
Head tothe appropriateAppstore(AndroidorApple)and searchforWIFI_AVIN.
Download andinstall the App.
InitialWiFisetup-The camerasystemcreatesitsownWiFiNetworkforthemonitoror
yourownphoneortablet devicetoconnectto, soyou needtosetup thisinitialconnection.
ØOnthedevicemenu select the settingsoptiontoconnecttoanewnetwork.
ØTurnWi-Fionifit isnot on already.
ØViewthe list ofavailablenetworks.
ØThecamerasystemusesthe WIFI_AVIN network, soselect this.
ØEnterthe defaultpassword 12345678 toconnect.
ØNowreturntothe mainmenu andstarttheApp.
ØIf thecaravan isconnected tothe carandtheengine isrunning, thecameraimage
will be shownon thescreen.

TheCaravan ReversingCameraKithasbeenpreinstalledinthecaravan, but requiresthemonitor
tobematched tothe camera/ transmitterbeforefirst use.
1.Supplypowertothe caravan fridgecircuit viathe 13 pinconnector. Thisisthe coolingelement
feedwhichispowered when the caristowingthe caravan (pins10and 11). If atest set isnot
availableconnectthecarandstarttheengine.
2.Turnthemonitoron,and ifrequired connectthe poweradaptorand wait fortheunit tostartup.
3.Onthemenuscreenselect the Androidsettingsicon .
4.TurntheWi-Fisettingon byslidingthe on-screen switch.
5.Touchthe Wi-Fisetting toshowalist of availablenetworks.
6.ThecamerasystemusestheWIFI_AVINnetwork, soselect this.
7.Touchinthepasswordarea andenterthepassword12345678toconnect.
