The Satechi B4 Bluetooth Hands-Free FM Transmitter is
compatible with phones oering Bluetooth wireless
connectivity between devices for the purpose of taking
calls while driving. This is accomplished without the use of
external wires and without the hassle or expense of custom
installation. The device transmits voice communication
signals via digital FM, which is then received by the stereo
system in your car. Your caller’s voice is amplied through
your vehicle’s sound system. This is a live full duplex
communication solution (speak and listen at the same time).
The device is also equipped with:
- DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Technology microphone
to cancel echo and reduce ambient noise, USB Port
to charge.
- USB port to charge USB powered devices, including
iPhone 3Gs & 3G, iPod, cell phones, MP3 players,
and more.
- Auxiliary Line-in jack to connect other audio devices,
including MP3 player, CD player, portable DVD player,
PC, laptop, etc.
To use this product in mobile communication, your mobile
phone must have built-in Bluetooth function or connected
Bluetooth adapter.

The Satechi B4 is easy to operate. Follow the instructions
below to get the most out of your product.
Getting Started
Place the Satechi B4 into the 12V cigarette lighter socket.
Adjust the device, so that it can be operated comfortably.
The display will light on immediately and the unit will be
ready for use.

Scan your car FM radio for an idle local frequency with little
interference and select that station. It is suggested to select
a station in the frequency range of 88.1 ~107.9MHz.
Available frequencies vary depending on your geographic
location, so please check and select carefully.
Change the frequency on the Satechi B4 by holding the up
or down Tune Keys until the transmitting frequency matches
the frequency selected on your car radio.

Speakerphones are connected to phones using a procedure
called ‘pairing’. Refer to the specic instructions supplied with
your phone for details on pairing Bluetooth devices.
By following a few simple steps, a phone can be paired with
a speakerphone in a matter of minutes.

In case of unsuccessful pairing, put the Satechi B4 into pairing
mode manually:
You are now ready to transmit calls or music from your phone
to your car stereo.
- Press and hold the function key 5 seconds: To change from
Search Mode to O Mode. The display will be green.
- Press and hold the function key 3 seconds: To change from
O Mode to Search Mode. The display will ash blue/green.

1. Put the Speakerphone in pairing mode
- When you place the Satechi B4 into the 12V cigarette lighter
socket for the rst time, the device will automatically start up
on pairing mode – i.e. it is discoverable by your phone. When
the device is in pairing mode the display will ash constantly
by an alternating blue/green light.
2. Set your Bluetooth phone to ‘discover’ the Satechi B4
- Follow your phone’s instruction guide. First make sure that
Bluetooth is activated on your mobile phone. Then set your
phone to discover the speakerphone. This usually involves
going to a ‘setup,’‘connect’ or ‘Bluetooth’ menu on your
phone and selecting the option to ‘discover’ or ‘add’
a Bluetooth device.
3. Your phone will nd the Satechi B4
- Your phone will nd the device under name “Carkit”. Your
phone then asks if you want to pair with the speakerphone.
Accept by pressing ‘Yes’ or ‘OK’ on the phone and conrm with
the passkey or PIN = 0000 (4 zeros). Your phone will conrm
when pairing is complete.
Getting Started

Press the Function Key to answer a call. You may also press call
answer key on your mobile phone to answer a call.

When you make a call from your mobile phone, the call will
automatically transfer to the Satechi B4.

You may voice dial via microphone on the Satechi B4 if your
mobile phone supports this function. Press the Function Key
for 1 second to bring the device into Active Mode
(the screen will ash once every second). After you hear a
chime, face the microphone and say the voice tag. Please
refer to the user manual of your mobile phone for more
voice dial instruction. Not every phone is equipped with
Voice Dial feature.

Press the Function Key twice to decline an incoming call.
You may also press end call key on your mobile phone
to decline a call.

You may redial via the Satechi B4 if your mobile phone
supports this function. While in Standby Mode, press the
Function Key twice to redial the last dialed number.

Everyday Use

To transfer a call from the Satechi B4 to the mobile phone
press the function key until the transfer is established.
Do the same procedure to transfer a call from the mobile
phone to the Satechi B4.

The volume may be adjusted by using your mobile phone or
your car’s stereo.
[Volume Adjustment]
Make sure that speakerphone and mobile phone are
connected. When you play music from your mobile phone it
will automatically transfer to your speakerphone. Music will
automatically be paused when you have an incoming call.
When the call ends, the music will start playing again. Some
mobile phones may also require that you select “Play” on your
phone to resume music.
You may also plug in a portable music source (iPodorMP3player)
into the Satechi B4 by using the 3.5mm adapter cable provided.

Satechi B4’s USB Port provides +5V/1000mA output to charge
your USB powered device through USB cable (Please make
sure your device can be charged through USB). This allows you
to listen and charge MP3 / iPod at the same time.
