1 Safety instructions
1.1 Warnings
•Only the accessories provided with the device or available as an option must be used.
•Do not use the device if it is damaged or if it operates abnormally. Inspect the device before every use. In case of
doubt, please contact the Sauermann's After-sales service.
•hen installing the device, the safety of the system integrating the device is the responsibility of the system
assembler.
•Before pressurising the measuring instrument: always connect the measuring instrument securely to the connection
under pressure.
•Do not authorise pressures beyond the device limits. Please refer to the technical features described in this user
manual.
•The device must not be exposed to rain or any other humid environments (> 80 %RH).
•Do not use the device next to explosive gases, vapour or dust.
•Do not place your fingers in movable zones of the device (articulations).
•The device must not be used in ATEX zones according to applicable standards.
•Do not store the device with solvents. Do not use desiccants.
•Do not give this product to a child.
•Please always use the device in accordance with its intended use and within parameters described in the technical
features in order not to compromise the protection ensured by the device

•Do not use the device if it is damaged (breakage of the housing).
•The device does not contain any internal part repairable by the user. Do not open the device. The maintenance
must be performed by Sauermann only.

device to Sauermann After-sales service for a technical check and to ensure your own safety.
1.2 Symbols used
For your safety and in order to avoid any damage of the device, please follow the procedure

2 Software presentation
The Configurator for the DBM 620 allows to adjust and correct a device.
The configurator allows to:
•Read adjustment points
•Adjust pressure and atmospheric pressure channels
•Modify the adjustment date
3 Tool presentation
The DBM 620 adjustment tool is a device designed for an interior use.
•Pressure range: from -2500 to +2500 Pa, which should not be exceeded
•Environmental conditions of use: Air, non corrosive and combustible gases; Temperature: from -5 to +50 °C (23
to 122 °F), in dry air and non-condensing conditions; Hygrometry: in non-condensing condition (< 80% RH);
Maximum altitude: 2000 m (6561’)
•Storage temperature: From -20 to +60 °C (-4 to 140 °F)
•Protection: IP 40

➢Means adapted for device correction: calibration certificate or calibration means.
6 Recommendations
➢Adjustment quality depends on the measurement accuracy of the reference standard. e recommend the use of a
standard which has better accuracies than these of the device and whom deviation measurements compared with
national standards are known and considered during measurement.
➢It is important to operate in stable temperature conditions, to perform adjusting in temperature regulated room
and to condition the instrument a few hour before beginning the adjustment.
7 Cleanin the device
Clean the device housing with a damp cloth. Use distilled water.
Do not use isopropanol.

8 Connect the DBM 620 housin to the adjustment tool
➢Remove the battery cover.
➢Remove the battery pack from its location.
➢Push the blue part with a screwdriver.
Once the blue part is removed, the connection is accessible.
➢Put back the battery pack then the battery cover on the DBM 620 housing.
➢Put the DBM 620 housing on the DBM 620 adjustment tool by matching the connections (see picture below).

➢The DBM 620 housing is properly connected to the DBM 620 adjustment tool, the LED of the DBM 620 lights up
red.
9 Instructions
9.1 Connections to perform before setting the device
➢Connect the adjustment tool to the computer with the USB-mini-Din cable.
9.2 Get the access code and detect the DB 620
➢Launch the software by a double click on the icon
The following window opens.
hen using the software for the first time, it is necessary to enter an access code in order to access the adjustment and
correction functions.
➢Click on the question mark on the top right.
The following window opens.

There is an installation code on this window. This code is generated when installing the software on the computer.
➢Note this installation code.
➢Contact Sauermann and give this code. Sauermann will give you an access code.
Once the access code is entered and validated, click “DBM 620”:
The following window opens:
➢Click “Detection”.
9.3 Get the adjustment key
➢Click “Adjustment” on the left of the window.
The window opens with the inaccessible field “Adjustment ke ”.
Before starting the adjustment:
➢Click “Detection” on the bottom of the screen.
The following window opens with the accessible field “Adjustment ke ”.

➢Click on “New code” to generate a new adjustment key.
The software displays a 15-digit code, which will be used to generate an adjustment ey.
There are two possibilities to get a key:
➢Through your distributor: order it from him specifying the operation to be performed.
Adjustment only: gives the possibility to adjust completely the device with the help of several set points.
Correction only: gives the possibility to apply an offset correction and/or a slope correction giving calibration
points.
It is possible to cumulate these two operations when asking for the adjustment key.
➢Through Partners gate :
Order before to your distributor some credits. It will give you a login and password to access to the Partners gate.
Use the credits on the Partners gate.

➢Enter supplied adjustment code on the field “Adjustment code”.
➢Select the type of intervention:
•Correction

➢Click GO to validate, an adjustment key is generated.
➢Enter this adjustment key in the “Adjustment key” field of the DBM
620 Configurator then press “Validate”.
The following window opens with different fields accessible:
9.4 Adjust the instrument
In “Adjustment” part:
➢Select the channel to adjust in “Adjustable channels” list: Pressure or Atmospheric pressure.
➢Click “Perform adjustment”.
The following window opens :

➢Generate the point(s).
➢Modify the value of the point if necessary.
➢Click on OK to go to the following point.
When the last point has been validated, the adjustment is completed.

10 Description of various adjustments
10.1Pressure
10.1.1 Atmospheric pressure adjustment
➢Select the adjustable channel “Atmospheric pressure” and validate with “Perform adjustment”.
➢Enter the atmospheric pressure value of the day.
➢Validate with OK.
➢ait a few seconds the validation of the point.
10.1.2 Pressure adjustment
➢Select the adjustable channel “Pressure” and validate with “Perform adjustment”.
The adjustment is realised in five points : 0, 1250, -1250, -2500 and 2500 Pa.
The first adjustment point to carry out is 0 Pa.
➢ithout connecting the pressure, validate with OK.
Then for every other points, generate the asked value.
➢Modify the point value to generate if necessary.
➢Validate with OK.
➢ait a few seconds the validation of the point.
➢Click “Yes” if you want to write the adjustment date.
hen the adjustment is finished, the software indicates “Adjustment completed”.

11 Calibration
The calibration part allows to read the measurements for the following parameters:
•Pressure
•Atmospheric pressure
➢Click “Calibration” on the left.
The following window opens
➢Select the channel measurement.
➢Click “Start measurement”.

Values and counts are displayed.
➢Click “Stop reading” to stop the measurement values reading.

12 Adjustment means
12.1Atmospheric pressure
You only need to let the DBM620 on open air for the atmospheric pressure adjustment.
12.2Pressure
➢Means: dynamic pressure generator from 0 to 2,5 bar (such a GP 500 pressure generator)
➢Setpoints to be performed: 0, 1250, -1250, -2500 and 2500 Pa.
➢Stabilisation time: wait a few seconds for the stabilisation of each point
➢Comment: do not switch the DBM620 in measurement mode
