MATKALLE LÄHTÖ:
Tarkasta, että mukana on oikeat teltan palaset, sekä muut tarvikkeet.
• Laavuksi tarvitaan vain Hawun Seinäpala, joka on yhtenäinen ja mukana tulee
kiinnittämiseen tarvittava irtohihna + karabiinihaka.
• Telttaa varten tarvitset vähintään Ovipalan ja Seinäpalan.
• Laajennetuksi majoitteeksi mukaan tarvitaan myös Jatkopala, joka myydään
lisävarusteena.
• Teltan pystytykseen tarvitaan keskisalko, puu tai kiinteä ripustuspiste, sekä
riittävästi kiiloja teltan kiristykseen ja liepeiden särmäykseen.
• Laavuun: 5 kiinnityskiilaa + 5 lievekiilaa.
• Telttaan: 8 kiinnityskiilaa + 8 lievekiilaa.
• Laajennettuun telttaan: 10 kiinnityskiilaa + 10 lievekiilaa.
Hawu teltan voi pystyttää kolmella eri tavalla.
1. Normaalisti keskisalon kanssa
2. Puun ympärille
3. Roikkumaan
PYSTYTYS:
Pystytys keskisalon kanssa:
1. Levitä telttakankaat maahan teltan pohjan muotoisesti. (Tarkasta oviaukon
suunta.)
2. Aseta teltan huippulenkit sisäkkäin siten, että ne muodostavat kupin keskisalon
päätä varten.
3. Lukitse huippulenkkien muodostama kuppi Seinäpalan mukana tulevalla
karabiinilla, jotta se pysyy muodossaan.
4. Kiinnitä telttapuoliskot toisiinsa sivuissa olevilla vetoketjuilla

5. Rullaa telttojenvälisen sauman liepeet vesisuluksi ja lukitse sulkusauma
paikoilleen nauhasoljilla.
6. Säädä teltan pikakiristysnauhat 1/3 asentoon, jolloin telttaa voidaan pystytyksen
jälkeen kiristää tai löysentää avaamatta varsinaista harus naruja.
7. Levitä harukset auki saumojen myötäisesti
8. Iske jokaisen haruskulman kohdalle kiila n. 75cm. päähän teltan liepeestä.
9. Sido harusnarut kiiloihin siten, että harus jää vielä löysälle ja mahdollistaa
keskisalon pystytyksen. Harukset kiristyvät, kun keskisalko nousee.
10. Sukella telttaan sisälle ja pystytä keskisalko. Tarkasta, että keskisalon yläpää on
tukevasti huippulenkkien muodostamassa kupissa.

11. Kiristä teltan harukset pikakiristimillä. Parhaan tuloksen saat, jos kiristät harukset
vastapareina aina joka toinen haruspari kerrallaan. Teltan ovi kannattaa pitää
suljettuna kiristyksen aikana.
12. Aseta teltan maavara haluamallasi tavalla olosuhteiden mukaisesti. Yleisimmin
maavarat käännetään teltan sisälle.
13. Levitä ja kiristä teltan liepeet kulmien kohdalta lisäkiiloilla.
14. Säädä ilmastointiaukko olosuhteiden mukaisesti. (On tärkeää, että sateella teltan
huippulenkki on peitetty kankaan liepeellä, ettei se ala johtamaan vettä telttaan
sisälle)
15. Asenna kamiina tarvittaessa.
Pystytys puun ympärille tai roikkumaan:
1. Aseta teltan huippulenkit sisäkkäin siten, että ne muodostavat kupin.
2. Lukitse huippulenkkien muodostama kuppi Seinäpalan mukana tulevalla
karabiinilla, jotta se pysyy muodossaan.

3. Tee mukana tulevasta irtohihnasta slingi ja ripusta se roikkumaan joko puun
ympäri, tai ylhäältä kiinteästä ripustuspisteestä.
• Puun tulee olla kestävä ja mielellään n. ranteen vahvuinen. (Jos välissä oleva
puu on liian paksu, ei teltan puoliskoja saa kunnolla toisiinsa kiinni.)
• Ripustuspistettä käytettäessä varmista että se on tukeva, eikä se pääse
irtoamaan tai putoamaan teltan päälle.
• Hawu 4 –teltta tulee ripustaa n. 155cm korkeudelle ja Hawu 8 –teltta n.
175cm korkeudelle.
• Jätä slingiin lenkki, johon voit ripustaa teltan.
4. Ripusta telttakankaat roikkumaan naksauttamalla karabiinihaka slingin lenkkiin
kiinni. (Tarkasta oviaukon suunta telttaa ripustaessasi)
5. Kiinnitä telttapuoliskot toisiinsa sivuissa olevilla vetoketjuilla.
6. Rullaa telttojen välisen sauman liepeet vesisuluksi ja lukitse sulkusauma
paikoilleen nauhasoljilla.
7. Säädä teltan pikakiristysnauhat 1/3 asentoon, jolloin telttaa voidaan pystytyksen
jälkeen kiristää tai löysentää avaamatta varsinaista harus naruja.

8. Levitä ja kiinnitä teltan kulmat vastapareina harusnarujen ja kiilojen avulla.
Parhaan tuloksen saat, jos aloitat vesisulkusaumasta ja levität kulmat
vastapareina aina joka toinen haruspari kerrallaan.
9. Kiristä teltan harukset pikakiristimillä. Harukset kannattaa kiristää samassa
järjestyksessä, kuin kiinnitit ne.
10. Aseta teltan maavara haluamallasi tavalla olosuhteiden mukaisesti. Yleisimmin
maavarat käännetään teltan sisälle.
11. Levitä ja kiristä teltan liepeet kulmien kohdalta lisäkiiloilla.
12. Säädä ilmastointiaukko olosuhteiden mukaisesti.
13. Asenna kamiina tarvittaessa.
PURKU JA PAKKAUS:
Hawu-teltta puretaan pystytykseen nähden käänteisessä järjestyksessä. Kun teltta on
purettu, pakkaa se kuljetuskuntoon ja sido pakkaus mukana tulevalla irtohihnalla.
Ovipalan ja Seinäpalan pakkaus:
1. Kiinnitä kappale huippulenkistään puuhun, seinään tai kaverin käteen.

2. Vedä kangas suoraksi ja ravistele sitä.
3. Nappaa reunimmainen kulma käteesi, nosta se ylös ja ravistele roskat ja roiskeet
pois teltan pinnalta
4. Nappaa seuraava kulma käteesi ja toista toimenpidettä kunnes kädessäsi on
kaikki 5 kulmaa, huippu töröttää eteenpäin ja liepeet roikkuu alaspäin.
5. Aseta teltta maahan pötköttämään.
6. Laita narut ja liepeet nätisti telttakankaan päälle.
• Narut kannattaa laittaa huolellisesti, etteivät sotkeennu valtavaksi mytyksi,
jonka jälkeen teltan seuraava käyttökerta herättää hilpeyttä.
7. Rullaa teltta tiiviiksi paketiksi alkaen alapäästä (liepeistä).
• Kun huippu lähestyy, voit taittaa sen kaksin kerroin rullan sisään, jolloin
paketista tulee nätimpi.
8. Sido pakkaus mukana tulevalla irtohihnalla ja laita karabiini näkyvästi Seinäpalan
irtohihnaan kiinni.
• Tämä toimii Seinäpalan tuntomerkkinä, jos haluat käyttää Seinäpalaa
laavuna
Jatkopalan pakkaus:
1. Nosta Jatkopala ilmaan huippulenkeistä roikottaen joko kaverin kanssa tai yksin.
2. Ravistele irtoroskat pois kyydistä.
3. Taita Jatkopala kahtia, särmää taitos ja suorista kangas.
4. Taita kappale uudelleen kahtia ja toista toimenpidettä, kunnes käsissäsi on
halutun levyinen kangassoiro.
5. Laita harusnarut kankaan päälle nätisti ja taita liepeet kyytiin.
6. Rullaa teltta tiiviiksi paketiksi alkaen alapäästä (liepeistä).
7. Sido pakkaus mukana tulevalla irtohihnalla.

HUOLTO:
Hawu -teltta on suojannut sinua sateelta, tuulelta ja tuiskulta. Kun pääset reissulta
kotiin ja kiinteämmän katon alle, muista huoltaa itsesi lisäksi myös telttasi. Vaikka
kangas on käsitelty hometta vastaan, voivat silti kostean kankaan pinnassa olevat
roskat ja epäpuhtaudet homehtua ja pilata telttasi.
1. Levitä telttakangas roikkumaan.
2. Poista irtoroskat ja pyyhi lika kostealla rätillä.
3. Säädä pikakiristysnauhat valmiiksi 1/3 asentoon.
4. Avaa harusnaruihin syntyneet ylimääräiset solmut.
5. Anna teltan kuivua ja tuulettua riittävän pitkään, jotta se on varmasti kuiva ja
raikas.
6. Pakkaa teltta pakkausohjeiden mukaisesti.
PREPARATIONS:
Make sure you pack the correct tent components and accessories.
• For a lean-to, all you need is the solid Hawu Wall piece plus the included
detachable strap and karabiner for attaching.
• For a tent, you will need at least the Door piece in addition to the Wall piece.
• For an expanded accommodation, you will also need to pack the optional
Extension piece sold separately.
• To set up the tent, you need the centre pole, a tree or a fixed supporting point
as well as a sufficient number of stakes to tighten the tent and trim the skirts.
• For a lean-to: 5 mounting stakes + 5 skirt pegs.
• For a tent: 8 mounting stakes + 8 skirt pegs.
• For a tent with the extension: 10 mounting stakes + 10 skirt pegs.
The Hawu tent can be set up in three different ways:
1. In a normal manner with a centre pole
2. Around a tree
3. Suspended
SETTING UP:
Setting up with a centre pole:
1. Spread the tent fabrics on the ground in the shape of the tent layout. (Check the
direction of the door opening.)

2. Put the tent’s top loops within each other so that they form a cup for the end of
the centre pole.
3. Secure the top loops in the cup form with the karabiner supplied with the Wall
piece.
4. Connect the tent halves with the side zips.
5. Roll the skirts over the tent seam to create a waterproof layer, and secure the
layer in place with the buckle straps.
6. Adjust the tent’s quick-action tightening straps to the 1/3 position so that the
tent can be tightened or loosened up after the set up without undoing the actual
guy ropes.
7. Spread the guys open along the seams.

8. Drive a stake at each corner with a guy to a distance of approx. 75 cm from the
skirt of the tent.
9. Tie the guy ropes to the stakes with the guy loose enough to allow the setting up
of the centre pole. Once erected, the centre pole will tighten the guys.
10. Get inside the tent and erect the centre pole. Check that the top end of the centre
pole is securely in the cup formed by the top loops.
11. Tighten up the tent guys with the quick-action tighteners. For the best result,
tighten the guys in opposite pairs every other guy pair at a time. The door of the
tent should be closed when tightening.
12. Adjust the tent’s groundsheet skirt to your liking in accordance with the
conditions. Normally, the groundsheet skirt is turned inside the tent.
13. Spread and tighten up the tent skirts at the corners with additional stakes.

14. Adjust the ventilation hole in accordance with the conditions. (In case of rain, it is
important to cover the tent’s top loop with the fabric skirt to prevent water from
entering the tent through the loop.)
15. Install the stove, if needed.
Setting up around a tree or suspended:
1. Put the tent’s top loops within each other so that they form a cup.
2. Secure the top loops in the cup form with the karabiner supplied with the Wall
piece.
3. Use the included detachable strap to create a sling and attach it hanging around
a tree or to a fixed supporting point above the tent.
• The tree should be sturdy and preferably approx. wrist size in circumference.
(If the tree in between is too thick, you cannot close the tent halves properly.)
• When using a supporting point, make sure that it is secure and cannot
become loose or fall on the tent.
• The Hawu 4 tent should be suspended at the height of approx. 155 cm, Hawu
8 at the height of approx. 175 cm.
• Leave a loop on the sling so that you can hang the tent on it.
4. Hang the tent fabrics by attaching the karabiner on the loop on the sling. (When
hanging the tent, check the direction of the door opening.)

5. Connect the tent halves with the side zips.
6. Roll the skirts over the tent seam to create a waterproof layer, and secure the
layer in place with the buckle straps.
7. Adjust the tent’s quick-action tightening straps to the 1/3 position so that the
tent can be tightened or loosened up after the set up without undoing the actual
guy ropes.
8. Spread and attach the tent corners in pairs opposite each other with the guy
ropes and stakes. For the best result, start at the waterproofed seam and spread
the corners in opposite pairs every other guy pair at a time.
9. Tighten up the tent guys with the quick-action tighteners. The guys should be
tightened up in the same order they were attached.
10. Adjust the tent’s groundsheet skirt to your liking in accordance with the
conditions. Normally, the groundsheet skirt is turned inside the tent.

11. Spread and tighten up the tent skirts at the corners with additional stakes.
12. Adjust the ventilation hole in accordance with the conditions.
13. Install the stove, if needed.
DISMANTLING AND PACKING:
The Hawu tent is dismantled in the reverse order from setting up. Once dismantled,
pack the tent for transport and tie up the package with the included detachable strap.
Packing the Door and Wall pieces:
1. Attach the piece from the top loop to a tree or wall, or ask somebody to hold it.
2. Pull the fabric straight and shake it.
3. Grab the outermost corner in your hand, lift the corner up and shake any debris
or spillage off the tent surface.
4. Grab the next corner in your hand and repeat the procedure until you have all the
5 corners in your hand with the top pointing forward and the skirts hanging down.
5. Set the tent down on the ground.

6. Arrange the ropes and skirts neatly on the tent fabric.
• It pays to arrange the ropes carefully in order to avoid a massive entanglement
of ropes the next time the tent is used.
7. Starting from the bottom (skirts), roll the tent up into a tight package.
• When you approach the top, you can double it over inside the roll to have a
neater package.
8. Tie the package up with the included detachable strap and attach the karabiner
to a visible place on the Wall piece’s detachable strap.
• This way, it doubles as an indicator for the Wall piece in case you want to
use it as a lean-to.
Packing the Extension piece:
1. Lift the Extension piece up in the air from the top loops by yourself or with a
friend.
2. Shake it to remove any loose debris.
3. Fold the Extension piece in two, sharpen the fold and straighten the fabric.
4. Fold the piece in two again and repeat the procedure until the fabric is of the
desired width.
5. Arrange the guy ropes neatly on the fabric and fold the skirts in as well.
6. Starting from the bottom (skirts), roll the tent up into a tight package.
7. Tie the package up with the detachable strap supplied.
CARE:
Your Hawu tent protects you from rain, wind and snow. When back at home, remember
to take care of your tent. The fabric has been treated against mould, but debris and
contaminants left on moist fabric surface may start to mould and ruin the tent.
1. Spread out the tent and hang it up.
2. Remove any loose debris and wipe off dirt with a damp cloth.
3. Pre-adjust the quick-action tightening straps to the 1/3 position for the next use.
4. Open all extra knots in the guy ropes.
5. Allow the tent to dry and air out until it is absolutely dry and fresh.
6. Pack up the tent according to the packing instructions.
