1.3. Installation
1.3.1. Installation requirements
•For easier maintenance, operation, and improved ventilation, be sure to install eNodTouch at least 100mm [3.94in.]
away from adjacent structures and other equipment.
•Be sure that the surrounding air temperature and the ambient humidity are within their designated ranges.
(Surrounding air temperature: 0 to 50°C, Ambient humidity: 85% RH, Wet bulb temperature: 39°C max.) When installing
eNodTouch on the panel of a cabinet or enclosure, “Surrounding air temperature” indicates both the panel face and
cabinet or enclosure’s internal temperature.
•The panel should not be inclined more than 30°.

Installation procedure :

Place the unit on a clean and level surface with the display panel facing downward.

Cut a panel with the specified thickness in function of the material.

Create the correct sized hole with a diameter of 22.5mm (tol -0.30) on the panel.

Insert the display module following the illustration :
Screw the nut with the socket wrench with a torque between 1.2 and 2 N.m.

Insert and push the rear module until it locks into place.
IMPORTANT: Install the rear module in the orientation shown in the illustration.
If either unit is installed incorrectly, the connector may be damaged.

To remove the rear module, push the yellow button to unlock it, then pull the rear module out
following the illustration:

1.4. Electrical powering
•Supplying a power voltage other than that specified will damage the power source and the unit.
•When the FG terminal is connected, be sure the wire is grounded.

1.5. RS485 interface for connection to eNod4
RS485 uses a DB9 connector. Please follow the below cable recommendation or use a SCAIME Cable ref 632153. Contact your
local sales representative for more information.
Important:
You may need to add a terminating resistor (120 Ohm) if
the distance between eNod4Touch and eNod4 is
important.
If distance is short (<1m), do not add resistor.

2. Off-Line setting
Offline mode provides access to system settings, self-diagnostics, and so on.
Use offline mode to set up the display unit before use.
2.1. Entering Offline mode
At Power ON
Touch the upper right corner or upper left corner (within 40 pixels of the edges) of the panel for at least 3 seconds soon after the
startup screen is displayed.
When Operating
Touch the upper right then bottom left corners, or the upper left and bottom right corners of the panel (within a 40 pixel area) in
0.5 seconds.

2.2. Offline mode operations
After entering in Offline mode, eNodTouch displays a menu allowing consulting and modifying the eNodTouch settings

2.2.2. Brightness/contrast control
•To display the Brightness Control Bar on the display unit, enable the setting [Show Brightness/Contrast Control Bar] in
[Display Settings] (§2.2.1)
•Touch the upper right then left corners, or the Bottom left and right corners of the display in 0.5 seconds.
•To end Brightness/Contrast Control mode, touch the [ X ] on the Brightness/Contrast Control Bar.

2.2.6. Maintenance menu

3. On-Line Functioning
3.1. Startup screens
•At first Power-On, eNodTouch is set to manage one eNod4 at the address 1, the connection screen is displayed while
eNodTouch try to communicate with connected eNod4 device.
•Then a redirection screen appears during 3 seconds for a redirection to a main screen if the communication is
established between eNodTouch and eNod4 communication or an error screen if eNodTouch does not manage to
connect to the eNod.
•If there is no eNod4 connected or if the display unit cannot communicate with eNod4 device, a communication error
screen appears. In this case, check the wiring between eNodTouch and eNod4 (§1.4) and check that the communication
parameters of eNodTouch and eNod4 are correct (§2.2.3).

3.2. Multi-eNod screens
3.2.1. Increase eNod number
•To increase the eNod number and have an access to the multi-eNod screen, please follow the procedure :
- Touch the Fn button of the main screen, the main menu appears.
- Enter in the eNodTouch menu.
- Go to the Starting Parameters screen by touching the right arrow button.

•By default the eNod number is 1, eNodTouch starts on the main screen of the first eNod.
•Increase eNod number if needed. The display module can start on the main screen of any eNod or on the multi-eNod
screen by disabling « Starting eNod » function.
•If starting eNod is disconnected or have communication problems, the multi-eNod screen appears.
•When settings are finished, touch the left arrow button, to restart eNod Touch.
•According to the number of eNod settled, eNodTouch redirects to the following multi-eNod screens :

•To display the main screen of an eNod, touch its display area (Example for eNod n°1):

3.2.3. Communication error and disconnection
•When an eNod4 has communication problems or is disconnected, the data from other channels freezes for 5 seconds.
During this time, a reconnection button appears, eNodTouch tries to recover the connection with eNod4.
•After 5 seconds if eNodTouch can not recover the connection with eNod4, the button enters in the state « eNod
disconnected », the data display resumes.
•Identify the communication problem in the following list: wiring problem (§1.4), communication parameters
misconfigured on eNodTouch or eNod4 (§2.2.3).
•When you found out the issue, touch the « eNod disconnected » button to re-establish the communication.
•The display module tries to recover the communication with eNod4 during 1 second, the button toggles to the
« Reconnection » state. After 1 second if data from the eNod4 appears, the communication is re-established, else the
button toggles to « eNod disconnected » state.
