Dieses Produkt erfüllt die Anforderungen der geltenden europäi-
schen und nationalen Richtlinien, die Konformität wurde nach-
gewiesen, die entsprechenden Erklärungen und Unterlagen sind
beim Hersteller hinterlegt. Dieses Produkt entspricht der Schutz-
klasse I und ist mit einer Schutzisolierung versehen.
Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen (CE) ist das eigenmäch-
tige Umbauen und/oder Verändern des Produktes nicht gestattet.
Beachten Sie bitte, dass Schäden, die durch manuelle Veränderun-

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Bei diesem Produkt handelt es sich um einen Lichteffektstrahler,
der mit einer LED-Einheit spezielle Lichteffekte erzeugt. Das Pro-
dukt wird dabei an das Stromnetz und bei Bedarf an ein DMX-512
kompatibles Steuergerät angeschlossen.
Dieses Produkt ist für den Anschluss an 230 V, 50 Hz Wechsel-
spannung zugelassen und wurde ausschließlich zur Verwendung in
Innenräumen konzipiert.
Wird das Gerät anders verwendet als in dieser Bedienungsanlei-
tung beschrieben, kann dies zu Schäden am Produkt führen und
der Gewährleistungsanspruch erlischt. Außerdem ist jede andere
Verwendung mit Gefahren wie z.B. Kurzschluss, Brand, elektri-
schem Schlag, etc. verbunden.
Die vom Hersteller festgelegte Seriennummer darf niemals ent-
fernt werden, da ansonsten der Gewährleistungsanspruch erlischt.

This product complies with the requirements stipulated by ap-
plicable European and national regulations; conformity has been

been deposited with the manufacturer. This product complies
with protection class I and features a protective insulation.
For reasons of safety and approval (CE) the personal reconst-
ruction and/or modication of this product is prohibited. Please
observe that damage caused by modications performed manu-
ally to this device is not covered by the warranty.
This product leaves our works in perfect condition. Please ob-
serve all notes in these operating instructions to warrant this
condition and the safe operation of the product!
Any damage caused as a result of the non-compliance with the-
se operating instructions leads to the expiration of any warranty
claim. The manufacturer does not accept liability for any dama-
ge to property or for personal injury resulting from the improper
handling of the product, or non-observance of the operating in-
structions.
Store these operating instructions in a safe place for later refe-
rence and pass them to any new holder when selling or lending
or leaving this device in the hands of any other party.
Application According to Purpose
This product is a lighting effect which creates special light ef-
fects with a LED unit. To generate these effects, the product
has to be connected to mains and, if required, to a DMX-512
compatible controller.
This product is designed for 230 V, 50 Hz A/C operation and is
intended exclusively for indoor use.
If used for any purpose other than described in these operating
instructions, the device may suffer damage and the warranty
expires. Also, any other use is linked with risks such as short
circuits, re, electrical shock, etc.
The manufacturer‘s serial number must never be removed as
otherwise the warranty expires.
Notes on Safety
1. Before Operation
Prior to the initial operation of this product we ask you to
- read these operating instructions with great care;
- study and follow all instructions carefully;
- ensure that everybody and anybody involved in the installati-
on, operation, transport and storage of this product is suitably
qualied;
- verify whether any visible damage was caused during trans-
port. If the power cord or housing are damaged, do not operate
the device; contact your specialised dealer immediately.

2. Netzspannung, Netzkabel und
Netzanschluss
Der Umgang mit Netzspannung, Netzkabeln und Netzanschlüssen
erfordert wegen der Gefahr eines lebensgefährlichen elektrischen
Schlages, der Gefahr eines Brandes und der Gefahr eines Kurz-
schlusses besondere Vorsicht! Bitte beachten Sie insbesondere
folgende Hinweise:
Produkte, die an Netzspannung betrieben werden, gehören nicht
in Kinderhände. Stellen Sie deshalb sicher, dass bei Anwesenheit
von Kindern in der Nähe des Produktes eine dauerhafte Aufsicht
erfolgt!
In gewerblichen Einrichtungen sind die Unfallverhütungsvorschrif-
ten des Verbandes der gewerblichen Berufsgenossenschaft zu be-
achten.
In Schulen, Ausbildungseinrichtungen, Hobby- oder Selbsthilfe-
werkstätten ist das Betreiben des Gerätes durch geschultes Perso-
nal verantwortlich zu überwachen.
Überprüfen Sie das Produkt regelmäßig auf Beschädigungen des
Netzkabels! Sollten Sie dabei Schäden am Netzkabel entdecken,
nehmen Sie das Produkt nicht in Betrieb, bzw. außer Betrieb! Si-
chern Sie das Produkt gegen unbeabsichtigten Betrieb und setzen
Sie sich mit Ihrem Fachhändler in Verbindung!
Trennen Sie das Produkt immer vom Netz, indem Sie den Netzste-
cker an der Griffäche anfassen. Ziehen Sie niemals an der Netz-
leitung!
Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie das Produkt ausschließlich an 230 V, 50
Hz Wechselspannung anschließen!
Stellen Sie bei Installation, Betrieb, Transport und Lagerung des
Produktes stets sicher, dass das Netzkabel weder mechanisch,
noch durch Feuchtigkeit, Flüssigkeit, Hitze oder Kälte beschädigt
werden kann!
Die Kabeleinführung am Produkt darf nicht durch Zuge belastet
werden!
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Netzanschluss erst nach dem Aufbau des
Produktes erfolgt. Den Netzstecker immer als letztes einstecken!
Das Produkt darf nur an eine ordnungsgemäße Netzsteckdose des
öffentlichen Versorgungsnetzes angeschlossen werden. Stecken
Sie das Netzkabel nur in geeignete Steckdosen ein!
Benutzen Sie nur vorschriftsmäßige Verlängerungskabel!
Lassen Sie das Netzkabel nicht mit anderen Kabeln in Kontakt kom-
men!
Stellen Sie bei Installation, Betrieb, Transport und Lagerung stets
sicher, dass keine Kabel frei herumliegen!
Fassen Sie Netzkabel, Netzstecker und Netzsteckdosen nie mit
nassen oder feuchten Händen an!
Trennen Sie das Produkt bei Nichtbenutzung und vor jeder Reini-
gung vom Netz! Fassen Sie dazu den Netzstecker an der Griffä-
che an und ziehen Sie niemals an der Netzleitung!
Das Produkt darf keinesfalls mit Dimmerpacks betrieben werden.
2. Supply Voltage, Mains Cord and
Connection to Mains
The handling of supply voltage, mains cords and connections to
mains calls for particular care considering the risk from a life-
threatening electric shock, the risk of re and the risk of short
circuits! Please observe the following notes in particular:
Products operating on supply voltage should be kept out of
reach of children. Therefore ensure permanent supervision if
children are in the immediate vicinity of the product!
For commercial facilities the regulations on the prevention of ac-
cidents of the respective trade association have to be observed.
The operation of this equipment at schools, training facilities,
and hobby or self-help workshops has to be supervised respon-
sibly by trained personnel.
Check the product regularly for any damage to the mains cord!
Should you discover any damage to the mains cord, do not ope-
rate and disconnect this product! Secure the product against
accidental operation and contact your specialised dealer!
Always separate the product from mains by holding the mains
plug by the handling surface. Never disconnect by holding the
line cord!
Be sure to connect the product exclusively to 230 V, 50 Hz A/C!
Always ensure during installation, operation, transport and
when storing the product that the mains cord is not exposed to
possible mechanical damage, or damage caused by humidity,
uids, heat or cold!
The product‘s cable entry must not be exposed to stress from
pull!
Only create the mains connection once the product has been
installed. Always connect the mains plug last!
The product must only be connected to a proper outlet of the pu-
blic supply grid. Connect the mains cord to suitable outlets only!
Only use extension cords in compliance with specications!
Do not allow the mains cord to come into contact with other
cords!
Ensure during installation, operation, transport and storage that
none of the cables are freely exposed!
Never touch the mains cord, mains plug and outlets with wet or
damp hands!
When not using the product, and prior to cleaning always dis-
connect the product from mains! To do so, hold the mains plug
by the handling surface and never pull the mains cord!
Never connect the device to dimmer packs!

3. Gehäuse
Stellen Sie bei Installation, Betrieb, Transport und Lagerung des
Produktes stets sicher, dass keine Erschütterungen oder sonstige
Gewalteinwirkungen auf das Gehäuse einwirken können!
Das Gehäuse darf während des Betriebs keine anderen Geräte
oder Gegenstände berühren!
Leicht entammbare Materialien wie z.B. Dekorationsmaterialien
und andere Gegenstände und Flächen müssen mindestens 3 m
vom Gehäuse entfernt sein! Halten Sie einen Sicherheitsabstand
von mindestens 50 cm zu Wänden.
Das Gerät darf stehend nur auf einem feuerfesten Untergrund
(kein Teppich!) betrieben werden.
Es muss immer eine einwandfreie Luftzirkulation stattnden.
Berühren Sie während des Betriebs das Gehäuse nicht – es erhitzt
sich. Erst ca. 5 Minuten nach Ende des Betriebs können Sie das
Gehäuse wieder berühren!
Tragen Sie das Gerät nur an den Tragegriffen. Tragen Sie das Gerät
niemals an den Projektorarmen!
Es darf keinerlei Flüssigkeit in das Gehäuse eindringen, da dies die
Schutzisolierung reduzieren oder Kurzschlüsse auslösen könnte,
was zu tödlichen Stromschlägen führen kann! Im Fall von einge-
drungener Flüssigkeit müssen Sie sofort den Netzstecker ziehen,
das Produkt gegen unbeabsichtigten Betrieb sichern und sich mit
Ihrem Fachhändler in Verbindung setzen! Schäden, die durch Flüs-
sigkeiten im Gehäuse entstehen, sind von der Gewährleistung aus-
geschlossen.
Es dürfen keine Metallteile oder sonstige Gegenstände in das
Gehäuse gelangen, da dies die Schutzisolierung reduzieren oder
Kurzschlüsse auslösen könnte, was zu tödlichen Stromschlägen
führen kann! Im Fall von eingedrungenen Metallteilen oder sons-
tigen Gegenständen müssen Sie sofort den Netzstecker ziehen,
das Produkt gegen unbeabsichtigten Betrieb sichern und sich mit
Ihrem Fachhändler in Verbindung setzen! Schäden, die durch Me-
tallteile oder sonstige Gegenstände im Gehäuse entstehen, sind
von der Gewährleistung ausgeschlossen.
4. Betriebsumgebung
Das Produkt darf nur im Trockenen betrieben und gelagert werden!
Spritzwasser, Regen, Feuchtigkeit, Nebel können die Schutzisolie-
rung reduzieren, was zu tödlichen Stromschlägen führen kann!
Der Grenzwert für die relative Luftfeuchtigkeit liegt bei 50% bei 45
Grad Celsius. Zu einer Nebelmaschine muss ein Mindestabstand
von 1,5 m eingehalten werden; die Nebelsättigung im Raum darf
eine Sichtweite von 10 m nicht unterschreiten.
Das Produkt darf nur bei einer Temperatur zwischen -5 und 45
Grad Celsius betrieben werden. Schützen Sie das Produkt dazu vor
direkter Sonneneinstrahlung oder anderweitiger externer Erhit-
zung wie z.B. durch Heizkörper!
Wenn das Produkt von einem kalten Raum in einen warmen Raum
gebracht wurde, darf es erst in Betrieb genommen werden, wenn

Easily ammable materials e.g. decoration materials and other
surfaces and objects have to maintain a minimum distance of
3 m to the housing! Walls have to maintain a minimum distance
of 50 cm to the housing!
The device has to be installed on a reproof surface only (no
carpet)!
Always ensure a proper circulation of air.
Do not touch the housing during operation – it will heat up. The
housing is safe to touch approximately 5 minutes following the
end of operation!
The device must never be carried via the projector arms. Use
the carrying handles only!
Fluids must not enter the housing as this could reduce the pro-
tective insulation and may trigger short circuits which may lead
to fatal electric shocks! If uids have entered, disconnect the
mains plug immediately and secure the product against unin-
tentional operation and contact your specialised dealer! Dama-
ge caused as a result of uids entering the housing is exempt
from warranty.
No metal parts or other items must enter the housing as this
may reduce the protective insulation or trigger short circuits
which may lead to fatal electric shocks! If metal parts or other
items have entered, disconnect the mains plug immediately, se-
cure the product against unintentional operation and contact
your specialised dealer! Damage caused by metal parts or other
items in the housing is exempt from warranty.
4. Operating Environment
The product has to be operated and stored in a dry environment
only! Splash water, rain, humidity, fog may reduce the protecti-
ve insulation which may lead to fatal electric shocks! The limit
value for relative humidity is 50% at 45°C. A minimum distance
of 1,5 m to a fog machine has to be kept; fog saturation in the
room must not reduce the visibility to below 10 m.
The product has to be operated at a temperature range of bet-
ween -5 °C and 45 °C only. Protect the product against direct
exposure to sunlight or other heat, such as from radiators!
If the product is taken from a cold environment into a warm
environment it must only be taken into operation once it has
reached ambient temperature, since the condensation created
by the difference in temperature may destroy the device!

Wenn dieses Lichteffektgerät irgendwelche Anzeichen von Be-
schädigung aufweist, darf eine Installation nicht vorgenommen
werden! Lassen Sie in diesem Fall das Lichteffektgerät durch Ihren
Scanic-Fachhändler reparieren!
Scanic übernimmt keine Verantwortung oder Haftung für durch
unsachgemäße Installation entstandene Sach- oder Personenschä-
den!
Das Gerät darf stehend nur senkrecht auf einem absolut planen,
massiven, feuerfesten, erschütterungs- und schwingungsfreien
Untergrund installiert werden.
Eine Installation dieses Lichteffektgerätes kann nur durch ausrei-
chend geschultes, professionelles Personal durchgeführt werden!
Eine Installation dieses Lichteffektgerätes darf nur mit dafür vorge-
sehenen Materialien vorgenommen werden!
Eine aufgehangene Installation dieses Lichteffektgerätes darf nur
mit einem dafür geeigneten Trägersystem erfolgen!
Es ist unzulässig das Lichteffektgerät frei schwingend im Raum zu
befestigen!
Beachten Sie bei gewerblichem Einsatz die Einhaltung von Sonder-
vorschriften. Bei der Montage sind die Bestimmungen der BGV C1
und EN 60598-2-17 zu befolgen!
Sorgen Sie dafür, dass sich nach Möglichkeit unterhalb der aufge-
hangenen Installation keine Personen benden!
Das Gerät ist zwingend mit einer zweiten, eigenständigen Befes-
tigung anzubringen. Die zweite Befestigung muss gewährleisten,
dass im Ausfall der Haupthalterung keine Montageteile herabstür-
zen können!
Das Lichteffektgerät muss über zwei dafür zugelassene Haken und
Omega Haltern an einem Traversensystem montiert werden!
Es ist dafür Sorge zu tragen, dass ein Sachverständiger maschi-
nentechnische und sicherheitstechnische Einrichtungen vor der
ersten Inbetriebnahme und nach wesentlichen Änderungen vor
der Wiederinbetriebnahme kontrolliert!
Es ist dafür Sorge zu tragen, dass ein Sachverständiger maschi-
nentechnische und sicherheitstechnische Einrichtungen mindes-
tens einmal im Jahr kontrolliert!
Es ist dafür Sorge zu tragen, dass ein Sachverständiger maschi-

tens alle vier Jahre im Umfang einer Abnahmeprüfung kontrolliert!
Die Installationsbefestigung muss so beschaffen sein, dass sie
über die Dauer von 60 Minuten ohne nachteilige Formveränderung
dem 10-fachen der Nutzlast standhalten kann!
Während jeglicher Montagearbeiten ist das unnötige Auf-
halten unterhalb der Installation strengstens untersagt!
Das Lichteffektgerät muss bei der Überkopfmontage zwingend
durch ein Sicherheitsfangseil gesichert werden. Das Seil muss da-
bei dem 12-fachen des Lichteffektgewichts standhalten. Benutzen
Sie Fangseile mit Schnellverschlussgliedern. Der Fallabstand darf
maximal 20 cm betragen. Defekte Fangseile oder Fangseile die
schon einer Belastung durch einen Fall ausgesetzt waren, dürfen
nicht verwendet werden!
Should your Scanic lighting effect show any signs of damage,
do not install the device! In this case, have your lighting effect
repaired by your specialised Scanic dealer.
Scanic does not accept responsibility or liability for damage to
property or personal injury resulting from an improper installa-
tion!
As stand-alone system the device has to be installed vertically
on an absolut planar, rm, reproof, shock-free and vibration-
free surface!
The installation of this lighting effect has to be carried out by
trained and professional staff!
The installation of this lighting has to be carried out with appro-
priate materials only!
The suspended installation of this lighting effect necessitates a
suitable suspension system!
The lighting effect must never be xed swinging freely in the
room!
Observe the regulations if the product is used for commercial
operation. Consider the EN 60589-2-17 regarding assembly!
No individuals should linger underneath the lighting effect du-
ring suspended installation!
It is a must to install this device with a second independent x-
ture. In the event of failure of the main xture such a second
xture has to guarantee that no assembly parts will fall down!
The lighting effect unit must be attached via two certied hooks
and omega brackets to a tie-bar system!
It has to be ensured that an expert inspects the mechanical and
safety-relevant installation prior to the initial operation and fol-
lowing major modications, prior to the renewed operation!
It has to be ensured that an expert inspects the mechanical and
safety-relevant installation at least once a year!
It has to be ensured that an expert inspects the mechanical in-
stallation and the installation of relevance to safety within the
framework of an acceptance test at least every four years!
The installation xture must be as such that it can withstand
the load capacity without harmful deformation for a period of 60
minutes 10 times!
It is prohibited for any individual to unnecessarily stay or pass
beneath the installation during any type of assembly work!
The lighting effect unit has to be secured by a safety arrester
cable if y-mounted. The cable has to withstand 12 times the
weight of the lighting effect unit. Use arrester cables equipped
with quick closing links. The dropping distance must not exceed
20 cm. Defect arrester cables or arrester cables that have alrea-
dy been exposed to stress must not be used!

Das Scanic Gerät kann über eine DMX-Steuerung bedient werden.
Bei einem DMX-Betrieb müssen alle Scanic Geräte mit einem
handelsüblichen, 3-poligen DMX-Kabel (XLR) und einem DMX-512
Steuergerät verbunden werden.
Verbinden Sie dazu den Ausgang des ersten Gerätes mit
dem Eingang des zweiten Gerätes, den Ausgang des zwei-
ten Gerätes mit dem Eingang des dritten Gerätes usw.
Schließen Sie den Netzstecker an eine Netzsteckdose an.
Vermeiden Sie es, das Produkt schnell nacheinander mit dem Netz
zu verbinden und es wieder vom Netz zu trennen! Warten Sie im-

Nun können Sie auf dem Gerät mit den Up/Down-Tasten -2, 3- die
gewünschte DMX-Adresse wählen.
Bestätigen Sie durch Drücken der Enter-Taste -4-.
Geben Sie mehreren Scanic Astute 30 LED die gleiche Startadres-
se, laufen sie synchron.

This Scanic device can be operated in DMX mode.
For DMX operation all Scanic devices have to be connected to
each other via a standard 3-pin DMX cable (XLR) and to a DMX
512 operating console.
To do so connect the the output of the rst device to the inpuit of
the second device, the output of the second devoce to the input
of the third device, etc.
Connect the mains cord to a shock proof outlet.
Avoid dis/connecting the device to and from mains repeatedly!
Always wait 15 minutes prior to the next operation/shutdown.
As soon as the device is ready for operation “d001” will appear
on the display.
Via the Up/Down Buttons -2, 3- you can adjust the desired DMX
address.
Conrm by pressing the Enter Button -4-.
If several Scanic Astute LED 30 devices have the same starting
address the devices will run synchroniously.

Setting
When the device is ready for operation the following functions
can be adjusted via the display and function buttons for stand
alone mode.

Sie haben außerdem die Möglichkeit die Startpositionen für Pan,
Tilt, Gobo-Rad, Gobo-Rotation und Farbrad festzulegen. Gehen Sie
dazu wie folgt vor:
Drücken Sie die Mode/Esc-Taste -1- für 10 Sekunden. Geben Sie
mittels der Up-/Down-Tasten -2,3- die Zahlenkombination 2323 ein.
Mit der Up-Taste -2- verändern Sie die blinkende Ziffer auf dem
Display. Mittels der Down-Taste -3- springen Sie zur nächsten Ziffer.
Bestätigen Sie Ihre Eingabe nun mit der Enter-Taste -4-. Sie ben-
den sich nun im Einstellungsmenü. Folgende Einstellungen können
Sie in einem Wertebereich von 0 - 255 Ihren Wünschen anpassen:
Trennen Sie das Gerät nach dem Gebrauch vom Stromnetz!
7. Sicherung
Trennen Sie vor dem Austausch der Sicherung das Gerät unbe-
dingt vom Netz.
Moreover, you can adjust the starting positions for Pan, Tilt, Gobo
Wheel, Gobo Rotation and Colour Wheel. To do so proceed as follows:
Press the Mode/Esc Button -1- for 10 seconds. Via the Up/
Down Buttons -2, 3- enter the code 2323. By pressing the
Up Button -2- you can change the blinking digit on the dis-
play. If you press the Down Button -3- you will jump to the
next digit. Conrm your entry by pressing the Enter But-
ton -4-. You are now in the adjustment menu. The following
adjustments can be carried out in a value range of 0 – 255:
After operation disconnect the device from mains!

Stellen Sie bei einem Austausch sicher, dass Sie nur geeignete
Sicherungen verwenden. Eine falsche Sicherung kann das Gerät
beschädigen oder zerstören.
Ersetzen Sie die Sicherung, indem Sie den Sicherungshalter mit
einem passenden Schraubenzieher vorsichtig aus dem Gehäuse
hebeln. Entfernen Sie die defekte Sicherung und setzen Sie die
neue Sicherung in die Sicherungshalterung ein. Setzen Sie die Hal-
terung wieder fest.
Das Gerät darf niemals bei geöffnetem Gehäuse mit dem Netz ver-
bunden sein!
8. Reinigung
Das Produkt muss regelmäßig von Staub, anderen Ablagerungen
und Verschmutzungen gereinigt werden, weil ansonsten die Schut-
zisolierung reduziert werden könnte, was zu tödlichen Stromschlä-
gen führen kann!
Trennen Sie das Produkt vor jeder Reinigung unbedingt vom Netz!
Dieses Produkt sollte nur mit einem leicht feuchten Tuch gereinigt
werden, verwenden Sie niemals aggressive Reinigungsmittel, Lö-
sungsmittel oder Waschbenzin zum Reinigen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Produkt komplett trocken ist, bevor Sie
es nach der Reinigung wieder in Betrieb nehmen!
9. Transport
Um Transportschäden auszuschließen, verpacken Sie das Produkt
bitte nur in der ursprünglichen Originalverpackung und lassen
beim Transport Vorsicht walten!

Only replace the fuse by a fuse of same type and rating! An in-
correct fuse could damage or destroy the lighting effect.
Replace a fuse by levering the fuseholder cover with an appro-
priate screwdriver. Remove the old fuse and place the new fuse
inside the holder. Replace the fuseholder and insert it.
Never connect the lighting effect to mains with open housing.
8. Cleaning
The product has to be freed regularly from dust, other deposits
and contamination as this may reduce the protective insulation,
which may lead to a fatal electric shock!
Before cleaning, always disconnect the product from mains!
This product should be cleaned with a moist cloth only; never use
aggressive cleaning agents, solvents or benzine for cleaning.
Ensure that the product is completely dry before operating it
again after cleaning!
9. Transport
To avoid damage caused during transport, wrap the product in
its original packaging only and handle it with great care during
transport!
