a. Power off the computer and any devices
that are connected to it (e.g., monitor,
printer or modem)
b. Disconnect the printer cable from the printer
port in the back of your PC.
c. Take the disconnected end of the printer
cable and attach it to the port in the back
of the S300P scanner. Tighten the retain-
ing screws.
d. Connect one end of EPP cable to the
printer port in the back of your PC and
tighten the retaining screws.
e. Connect the other end of the EPP cable to
the port in the back of the scanner of
computer port.
f. Connect the power adapter to the S300P
scanner and plug it into an appropriate
power outlet.
g. Power on the computer and wait for the
computer to finish booting up.
h. Install the scanner driver (Vividscan II
TWAIN driver) and application software
(IMS Shell) by referring to the next sec-
tion.

a. Start Windows 95.
b. Place the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
c. Click on "Start" and select "Run" from the
pop-up menu.
d. Type "Drive:\install.exe" (Where drive is
your CD-ROM drive) in the "Open" box.
e. Click on "OK" to confirm and follow the
instructions on the screen to install the
IMS Shell & scanner TWAIN driver.

1. Raise the upper cover of the S300P scan-
ner.
2. Place the original facedown on the window

Please place the original against the top and
right rulers as illustrated below:
3. Slowly close the upper cover of your S300P
scanner, making sure the document remains
in position.

1. Make sure your scanner is still on.
2. Turn on your PC and launch Windows.
3. Launch the IMS Shell application software
that came with the scanner.
4. Choose the Select SourceSelect Source

the icon under IMS Shell's tool bar to
open the control panel. Once the control
panel is opened, you are ready to proceed
with scanning.
7. Click on the "PRESCANPRESCAN

PRESCAN"button. A quick low-
resolution image will appear in the preview
window.
8. Use the crop frame in the preview window to
outline the image area you wish to scan.
9. Click on "SCANSCAN
SCANSCAN
SCAN" button.
10.Click on the " " icon to close the
Vividscan II TWAIN dialog box.
Note: If you want to use the default settings, you
can click on the button to open the
profile named Default2.prf.
Place your original against
top ruler and the arrow
indicator to make sure the
image of your picture will
be totally scanned.
